I am 6 months out with my Lap Band. I noticed my Dr presented both the GB and LB although I made it clear why I was there. He even asked again at my second visit if I had given any thought to the GB ? I said NO and that was the end of it. I have sneaky feeling there are more bucks for all with the GB. Thats just me I believe it all boils down to the money......

I was banded 10/09 in USA with insurance. No problems good restriction without fills for the first 3 months. The next month my gall bladder had to come out no problems with surgery ok. I then felt no restriction at all.( my theory is that the surgical proceedure(gall bladder caused the shift of my port) I was then set up for first fill under fluroscope but port turned and was told I d have to get a revision before I could have my first fill.That went ok no complications they filled to 4 cc at revision surgery.One day later I can't eat a thing,so I was unfilled to 2 cc. I now feel great restriction just right. So............even in America ports can have issues......Hopefully mine are now over. I am still happy with my band decision

Breath................ move forward, study, reaseach and reflect. It is more involved than choseing what purse to carry today. Its a REAL life style change. I have no regrets

Take a deep breath,you did the right thing. Once you recoup physically you'll see. You have set yourself on the road to regaining your health for yourself and all who love you !

Here in the state of Alabama/BCBS has everyone wait 6 months before you are approved for your surgery date, so this dose not sound so unusual. At first I hated the idea,but after having gone thru the process I think its a good thing .You have a chance to get your head around what you are about to do.

I was banded Oct 09,my band was not filled when placed. I ve had really good restriction for the first 4 months, and lost a good amount of weight.Now however I am feeling the hunger increase and planned on getting my first fill a week ago.During the procedure it was found that my port had been twisted and must be replaced before I can get a fill because it might cause a leak as is. Its a simple outpatient proceedure the port is just under your skin. I ll be out in about an hour. As far as fills go My Dr tells me that a small precentage of lap band patient never need a fill. Just the application of band provides enough .

Are you trying to muttle the issue ? PEOPLE in this country (U.S.A) DIE EACH DAY from lack of access to health care. I am ashame of this fact aren't you? WAKE UP ! This is not about a bum on a street corner this is about everyday struggling breathing Americans that a system has failed. We can no longer let the slimey GOP/Insurance co's have it they're way. " Your GOP Reps say "Write me a check I ll do anything for another check, I ll LIE to anyone who will listen and take me seriuosly." "Those foolish folks at home they're stupid they only listen to FOX RUSH and GLEN I got them covered.

Calm down little grasshopper you need to learn alot about the lap band and yourself. I two was VERY upset about my insurance Co policy and the steps I had to complete before I could get my band. Now hindsite being 20/20 its a good use of your time ,to be sure you understand what a new lifestyle change you will have to make for sucessful banding.I too was an impatient grasshopper. Just for the record I NEVER AGREE WITH my insurance co's policy. Lap banding is a deep thinking process you don't want to rush thru..........

You sound like you are on the right track.Chew the hell out of it ! I ve had problems in the beginning with just slowing down. I had to step away from the TV where I lose all track of time when I am eating.

I support 100% Health Care Reform, this is only the beginning it will continue to be a fight. The sellouts GOP/Insurance companies will continue to whine as they did when Social Security and Medicare first came into being. They fought long and hard to defeat these two ideas also. I have a question where would your Parents and Grandparents have been without these to systems?

People die each day in this country from lack of access to medical care.Pompus folks say they have free clinics and low fee health care available which is true but YOU MUST realize they have no access to life saveing test and procedures offered each day to those covered by health insurance............sleep well tonight if u can people die in this country everyday from lack of quality health care

Anytime one loses weight quickly there is the risk of gallbladder attack and possiable surgery. Ive read this many times ,with my many many yrs of trying one diet or another. Its not nessicarily a complication of Lap band surgery.

I had my gallbladder removed 3 months after my Lapband surgery. Did not know I had stones untill I went to the emergency room with pain. It turns out that my pancrease was inflammed from one of the gallstones movement caused the problem.M

I was banded 10/09 had good restriction without any fills for the first 3 1/2 months lost about 50 lbs. Dr suggested I might be in the small # whom never need a fill. I was hopefull too. Several days later I am in the hospital haveing my gallbladder removed everything went well but,I felt my restriction ended after the surgery. Today I went to have my first fill and there is another problem somehow my port has caused a problem with my line for fills and has to be replaced before I can get my first fill. My theory is that gallbladder surgery shifted my stuff.
