regretably you are to tight ...so am i now and spoke to my surgeon ...and I decided it was better for ME to have it tighter since I am on restrictions due to my asthma and have loads of things in my life... for me it took 2 months to learn how to handle the tightness...but I really only eat slidders and he knows it I think that you should get some of the fluis removed and stick to base foods (non acid) like milk when I eat chili...omg so...it is a personal decision good luck and get advice from others and then decide I wasted 2 years never getting a fill...you can read my blog..so my decision is from desperation :sad::sad::sad::sad: -
Situation ..what would you do? I went into my MILs closet, she asked me to bring clothes for her at the new rehab place. Well, yesterday I left the suitcase with my SIL. This is the problem, she is close to 90, and she lived thru the Depression. Thank God she has lived a wonderful life but her closets are full of shmatas (worst than rags). I was so sick when I went into her draws also. I know that she has stopped purchasing clothes and I have always found pretty items for her which she loves and DOES NOT WEAR BUT ,.. she has altered my deceased FIL clothes for herself. Now, as from other posts by me..I do not spend on clothes because the family is always needing something BUT she has horrible things...I know when she is not at a function...I just thought that she was cleaning around her home.. OMG...She is short so it not a height problem like me... BTW...she really is a very beautiful woman, has siver gray hair and does not color it.. and remembers to wear lipstick..vip..adds color to face So, I spoke to my SILs and one spoke to her this morning and she said no way Well, I can manage to buy her somethings but she really has the funds, and I will ask her nicely if I can get her some nice things My sils thought we could tell her we would donate her old clothes Well, the county we live in will not take donations of clothes from senior citizens..and it is written on their door the Salvation Army is another place but they would throw out and so would Goodwill....so then she will not have a tax deduction..which she does not need so..I thought of tell her that if her grandchildren should go into her closet...they would be tramatized....I have basics and do wear sometimes shabby at home but friends convinced me to stop and I agree...but it is hard..since I am so tall and the weight and finances but her ...no excuss so any suggestions? and to all others PLEASE keep nice things in your closets and if it is a shmata let it go it hurts especially since I would have gotten her clothes, and you folks know that I would have crocheted her something I was so upset last night ... my DH says that she is lucky that I am so sensitive to her feelings but still try to change those clothes gotta go

Bringing some food that was asked plus the turkey to SIL for Thanksgiving While they eat till they get sick...I will be doing my crocheting and smiling since I am so much healthier since last Thanksgiving We eat the Turkey We should not look like the stuffed turkey and that is priceless Have a Happy Thanksgiving Jolly -
[color="Blue"Tracey- In a Jewish Home everything is a KUGEL and us younger people can not get the kugel off the table.... or as my SIL says why change a good thing, if it is not broke You can spoon out your food, today they slice beats me how they allow my cranberry sauce on the table gotta laugh at life Suzie- I think, scratch that know that you have really taken Thanksgiving to its true form of giving. I am on awe that you remembered a friends husband and having a non traditional day, so he will feel better. Jen- Put on some music during thanksgiving and you will have a wonderful dinner. Thanksgiving is making traditions, and we do go to my SIL. Friday, we were going to have out of town guests of my sons but the economy, prevented them from coming. If I had the time, since they had cancelled the last minute and am a little depressed that they did not show. You just get a group together....as long as you are cooking, just open the door, and they will come To Everyone- I am grateful for the friends that I have made on this page. It has been a needed sound off for me. I am truly grateful that my MIL is well, and she called me from the hospital to pack her a bag for rehab. AND I thought that she called to ask about the turkey. INstead I told her how much she was loved by me. She knew that she scared me when I heard her voice... I am grateful for my husband and son BUT I am really grateful that I finally took care of me by being banded  AND I really am grateful for my crocheting, enabling me to give my finished items to charity. With the economy as it is, a personalized item means a lot. So, I am praying that God leaves me my eyes and fingers to make some wonderful projects for others! Happy Thanksgiving Laura PS-MY MIL went into the hospital and left me some of her friends to call (to tell her status) and now, every day, they call to talk.. :0)[/color]

Yeah.......My food that have to brought to SIL for thanksgivig is done......the spices that I put into the turkey that I will bake on thurs is smelling up my home...DH had to be woken up to put the bird downstairs Family drama is what I hate We always cut up the turkey and make the gravy at sil and out all the food...well MIL, is not there.. used her recipe but mine is herb-ie and over the top but SIL has changed the time...remembered remembered that I have 3 insulated bowls so the small one will be my gravy the middle one will be the brown meat the large one will have the white meat and they will remain hot for FOUR hours.,,,,, enough time for family to get over the drama anyway...i think that this way... i am out of the kitchen and it should be fun dh is diabetic without meds...so he gets his own bread, cranberry sauce,,, and cake so..........I will live and if I get thru all the traffic to go to SIL...which I am grateful they do not come to my home..did that and they were horrible....so I go and then leave...and thank god, I am me I hope that all of you have a great thanksgiving its late and have to get some zzzzzzzzz s otherwise i will be a zombie tomorrow

Just poking in... I had three pages to catch up on this thread let's see if I remember what I read to answer  Tracey- I think that the owner of the home you want with option to buy..........IS PLAYING YOU........trust me on this..........XMAS or not....no one has money and he should be THRILLED to have you as his tenant and knowing that you would purchase it from him in the future ...would assure him of a great tenant. He might of done that on purpose to see if you guys would start attacking or cursing him (remember I am from NY) So when he calls you, and he will, renegotiate better terms for you but whatever you do.....I would thank him got the call and then bullsh?? your way thru till you get a better deal If he does not call....... maybe call him back and ask if he rethought his decision. It might be that if it was never a rental..wants to convert the property in January for tax purposes????????? Jen- Good luck on your new job Heart- Crochetting is contageous....but giving it to someone is a wonderful feeling? Suzziecat- The recipe for the dump cake...before lapbanding i would have sucked it up...now....you know the story Good luck with your catscan TO everyone I hope that I did not miss anyone that I should have replied to...things are a hoping here and MIL...is being dumped on us..but WILL NOT allow her here....not becasue I am cruel but she is not allowing any nursing care and is refusing any help from anyone. I have giving my husbands family outpatient rehab but she does not want to go to any but ONE specific...unreal..I cried like a baby last night,...I told her younger brother...if she goes home with her stubberness she will definitely wind up in a nursing home or 6 ft under. So for the grace of god she is still in the hospital because we will not take responsibility and their is no plan that she will accept. If her brother have her change her mind this place will be hell Now, for Thanksgiving...I have made some of the items plus turkey is cleaned to be baked tomorrow morning and the family will get together Last night my SIL sounded like she had been crying..her mother is driving her crazy but trying to be independent and it is so sad........ Have a Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving to you and your family.. Thank God...really Thank God...just know my husband screamed up.... his mother was accepted in a heart rehab center that she wanted... far from my home but ok with me..as long as she got in...she will be going in on Friday direct from hospital in the city When she gets home..... I will worry about that.. but poor husband will have the burden since no one lives as close as us or really are good about it...we cancel our plans and make her happy...his sisters do not After the fit she flew in the hospital..and with my asthma...I told them that I would not do anything in her home...scared she is that stubborn and has a fit like a kid.... BTW...she is mentally perfect, truly... it is the family stubborness.. gotta stop ranting have a great thanksgiving jolly

Lost Too Much Weight
jollygreen1955 replied to umystifyme's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Sue- That is a great size loss...how exciting...do people walk pass you becasue they do not recognize you. I would walk around with large clothes but DS flips out...I just am so happy and love swimming in my old clothes. BUT it is so cool to go to the old size and the store tells me...lady who are you shopping for and when I tell them ME...they walk me over to another size....priceless....but then I tell them that I was banded I am six feet tall and the smaller size clothes, have been having a problem with length (arms and garment) so I do not want any negative things and will wait. Also, I work out of my home..so I can be picky since I drive in my heated car and can wear a shawl if necessary. THIS TIME I do not care if I freeze my a$$. LOL Jolly -

Relax, and just enjoy the time off. I personally enjoyed the drugs that they sent me home with...no pain...but stopped after 3 days  Just keep some shakes available and enjoy, for me it was a very peaceful time..since everyone was afraid of my getting the lapband... I had peace and quiet. Seriously, what a wonderful way to start the new year... and the payoff is well worth it..... forget the pounds loss..... i I just get excited when the clothes fall off..... PRICELESS I need a winter coat and refuse to buy on now... who know s what I will be in two months, when it snows I had clothes saved for the weight loss (given to me by friends... so when I finally went to a store....OMG...wish that thrill on you!!!!!! and stay only with POSITIVE people...I did not do that and when I did regress..they enjoyed it Now, I post on these boards and it has helped tremendously... BTW...I am a positive person but when we talk about ourselves it is hard,,,and regret listening (or poisoned) by others -
Just jumped in a looking at the posts Congrats on the new job Jen I have two ferrets for the kid and I swear YOU CAN hear me scream in California when they leave my sons room. THen my DEAR (???) son will freak out becasue I am scaring his animals. THANK GOD they do not escape much... husband plays with them... I just RUNNNNNNNNNNNNNN......ugh Now, Tracy.....I saw the picture of your house...I am definitely praying for you...maybe because I am Jewish but there is a cross on your front lawn..in the picture..the way that you took it....sidewise and i think that is a really great sign.......I grew up in an Italian, Jewish neighborhood so they always were into signs from above...so this is a great sign!!! When I was a kid, it drove me crazy...now, I see that they were right...lol Best of luck.. Also, I love the look of the home..dutch and the big windows is up my alley, it is also well maintained.........lucky you......

China- I have been in a stress mood so I KNOW about junk food..on one of the boards, I wrote how I ate candy bars and did not even know it was there...son left out. WHat I have done..for my husband and is make fresh hot chocolate from scratch. First it is chocolate and the warmth has allowed his sweet tooth to be ok.I wind up sipping some and it DOES work. REMEMBER,...junk food has junk in it (chemicals) to make you eat more junk...........whomever thinks I am nuts ... remember the cigarette companies that swore in court (under oath) that they did NOT add a chemical to make folks smoke!!!!! REMEMBER....if it has more than 5 ingrediants in it,,,junk...and if you can not pronounce it  Junk is Junk Eating is Fun Down a size Satisfaction which is PRICEless -

Last night I was verbaly given the recipe for flan that my husbands cousin makes. WHen I write it down I will post it since it is easier and fabulous. I will try to make it without sugar...and give you both but will definitely post shortly her recipe..I take the craziest notes, My MIl went thru her operation fine and will be going to rehab in a week or two. (After heart procedures in is done in NY) Girls- Guys skip over I got up this morning and for some stupid reason changed my night gown to a pretty night shirt to sit around till leaving to go into the city to see MIL I look into the full mirror...which I do NOT do...who needs the aggrevation and ugh... my belly is less..good thing but there is a line or indentation from my belly botton down...what does that mean, and the belly is definitely tighter and smaller thanks If it is something ugh or whatever you can email me off the boards BTW- I did lose 11 lbs in two months without exercising..could that be it TIA......Jolly -
Tracey- When you want to lose weight to jolt your body give up wheat...no joke. Also, skim thru the book Eat For Your Blood Type by Dr Peter D'Adamo (?). Look at the list for Blood Types and just take some of the food off. No joke it does work. My DS should not have dairy and it shows in his strength performance but he will not give up the cheese. Me on the other hand do find that when I do give up the hard cheese..OMG...big differnce To all My MIL thank god went thru the surgery fine. She is in intensive care for the next couple of days before they put her in a special room then she has to go to a rehab hospital. As for ME I am thrilled that the MIL is OK, yet I am still praying and holding but breathe. AND this is not an excuss for me to eat CANDy....yet the other day my poor son left some out and I swear to you I did not even realise that I had eaten it. HE FELT so bad and apoligized. I told him that parents get stressed out as high schoolers do. AND parents can not hide from the responsiblility as kids can pass it on to us....great lesson for us all. Well..gotta email my surgeon...I think my belly is going to fat heaven. Thanks for all your concern with my MIL ...Jollygreen Ms Diva...my sons laptop is the one I am using and pink does not show
