Is there someone out there that is having the same problem or had at one time this problem. I am hungry about an hour after I eat. I also can eat a lot more than I am suppose to with no problems. Sometimes I wonder if I was really banded, I can eat almost like I did before. I had my first fill last week, the Dr. put in 3cc. but when I sat up it was really hurting me and he took out 2cc and said I would have to take it slow for awhile. Now I wish I had kept quiet, maybe it only hurt initially and would of gotten better. I don't like feeling hungry all the time and I don't want to gain. I've lost 37 lbs so far. I was banded in Nov.. Does anyone have any suggestions for me, do you think the Dr. will give me another fill this soon? Help

Help I'm hungry and tomorrow is Thanksgiving!

Also banded on the 19th. So far I have only been hungry a few times. I do eat creamy soup but only a four ounces. And I will have a jello or pudding with it. I had cream of wheat for breakfast, it was awful but managed 4 oz. down me. I have lost 10lbs for pre op and 14 lbs since my banding on the 19th, I am very pleased. So take some cream of chicken soup and a jello and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.:cursing: -
Hi, I was also banded on the 19th of Nov. I have no little bubbles, just pain from the incisions. But I have 12 incisions instead of the four I was supposed to get. I had a hernia with complications, operation took 4 hours and twelve incisions. I have been doing quite well, a little sick to my stomach but think that is the pain medicince and am not going to take any more. I'm not in that much pain. My problem is (may sound stupid) but I don't know if I;m full or not, does anyone have this problem or am I the only lucky one. Best of luck to you all and keep in touch.

Hi my surgery date is the 19th also. I am excited and nervous at the same time. I have to have two hernia's repaired first than the lab band. About 2 hours in the OR, I also have to stay over night because of the hernias. I wish all the best on your journey and may your surgery be a breeze. Bless you and good luck. Keep in touch on your progress. Karen

I am on my 6th day of pre-op diet and it isn' as bad as I thought it would be. I get hungry so I'll have a drink and it goes away. I thought by now I would be killing someone I'd be so hungry but it's not that way at all. I can't wait to lose the weight and go shopping, my husband is buying me a whole new wardrobe. No More Big Sizes. I hope your pre-op diet goes as well for you as it is for me. My surgery is Thursday Nov. 19) can't wait. Best of luck you, you will be just fine. I'll keep you posted on how things went.

Congatulations on your banding. Do you live with your mother??? If not maybe you need to stay away from her until she accepts your banding. Maybe she is jealous, whatever the case is, it is not going to help you, you need positive feed not negative. Get yourself out of that situation if you can, pat yourself on the back and say good for me I did it. You go girl because you are a winner, you are on your way to a new and healthy life, as I am too. I am looking forward to this and my life afterwards. Keep me posted on you progress. I care.......

Good Afternoon everyone. I am on my pre-op diet and would like to know how one gets a protein drink down, I have bought three different kinds and they are just awful. I am trying to drink Eas chocolate drink now and am having a very hard time. I used a straw and couldn't get anything in the straw because it was so thick. I added some skim milk and a packet of equal with it. I am hoping this is okay and not cheating, but I had to do something. Anyone else having this problem???

A friend of mine brought me down Whey Portein (super advanced) 52g of protein. I tried it with skim milk and it tasted just fine without any thickness, or chauky taste, not a bad drink. I use one scoop/skim mild twice a day. Works out well and I can stomach it. Try it, it is good.

How long have you been on your diet. I started mine two days ago and I'm doing better than I thought I would. When are you having your surgery? Mine is the 19th of Nov. Our friends had a birthday BQ for me tonight, boy was that hard, all that good food and a cake besides. It was planned before I knew my surgery date. I did well, didn't touch a thing, took my liquid diet with me and stuck to it. It is hard but is well worth it in the long run. keep me posted on how your doing and yea for not eating the steak.

Thanks, I didn't know they made low carb slim fast. On my sheet from the Dr. it says I can't have slim fast but nothing about low carb slim fast. I think I will try it. I hate the other stuff. Thanks again.

I finally recieved my date for surgery yesterday, the 19th of Nov. three days before my birthday, Happy Birthday to me. I like this gift but am really scared. Woke up this a.m. and first thing I thought of is "what the hey am I doing, this is so drastic". wish I could do it on my own, but I know I can't, have tried it many times. I just pray I am doing the right thing. I know if I don't do it I won't live to see my grandkids grow up. I am so tired of not be able to do anything because of my weight, and I want to do everything. My husband and I retired and now is the time to play. I can't so I believe I am doing the right thing, we'll see. :mad2:

I am hoping around the 20th of Nov. I see my Dr. on the 11th and I will know for sure then. I have had to post pone it twice getting other test done to see if I could have it at all. So now it's a go. Just see the Dr. for the second time and get my date. I can't wait, the sooner the better. I dread the post op no food portion of it, that's the hard part, but I want it really bad so I know I will do it. You can too. You will be banded by the time I go in for mine, you can let me know how the whole process went. I wish you all the best and remember it's hard but you can do it. Keep in touch

I haven't started my preop diet, probably next week or week after. I am not looking forward to it either, also not ever done well on diets, this time I have to or I'm not going to be around to see my grandchildren grow up. But most of all I need to do this for me and my health. So we say to ourselves, I Can Do This. No more negative thoughts, if we get hungry we go for a walk, do anything to keep busy so we don't go to the refrig.. We can do this. Positive thoughts no more negativenism. Our new motto is "We can do it". I'll post when I start, and keep watching for your post. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!

I am going to be banded the end of Oct. and need to know what me life will be like after surgery. You see I am retired living in Fl. with my husband and right now my health is such that I can do very little. We came to Fl to have fun and meet new friends, which we did. We like to have parties, go golfing with our friends, out to dinner, people over for cocktails and hors d'oeuvre. How will my life change????? Do I want this LAP-BAND®,absolutely, I just want to know if I can still go out to eat without worrying about getting sick. Can I still have a glass of wine or two when we have people over. How about a nice cold beer after playing 9 holes of golf. Will all this come to a holt? I know I have to eat in moderation, I don't have a problem with that, I just want to know my life won't change that drastically. Can any retired person out there with a life similar to mine help me and answer my questions? I need to know ASAP as I see the Dr. tomorrow. Thanks everyone. I am not a nut case, just someone who needs desperately to lose weight and enjoy what ever time the Lord gives me in this world, I don't want to walk into the Pearly gates, I want to slide in.
