6 month progress pics - minus 79 lbs. Size 14 jeans baby!!!

LOL Leigha. If I put the flash on, there is a glare in the mirror. I know I need some better quality pics, but these pics serve their purpose.
  2. Hey there. Thanks for the pic comment and I think you are being really generous by saying the word "toned." lol. I wouldn't consider myself there yet...I'm headed in the right direction though. yay. Not to impersonalize it, but I have been getting more questions about what I eat, how I work out, etc. It's crazy for me to think that about 7 months ago, I was the LAST person anyone would think to ask for any sort of health/workout advice. Anyway, I wrote a blog that details a little of what I've been doing to get to where I am now. Please check it out. If you have any more questions after that, feel free to message me. Congrats on your weight loss! I'm going to send you a friend request on here.

  3. I look like a stalker. Almost all your visitor messages are from me...lol!

  4. LOL...and what is "girl of go"? Sorry, dont get it. As for Chicago...I grew up in a very Italian neighborhood. Most people think I am Itlian...especially once they hear me talk. To each their own. Not my fault my mom never taught me. :P

  5. Me no hablo espanol. In engish por favor. Muchos gracias. :)

  6. Hey girl. Thanks for the pic comments...those are both old pictures...pretty much in my beginning stages of being banded. I still go out and have drinks with my friends, for sure. I dont drink anything with carbonation (i miss my beer, vodka/tonics and jagerbombs), so I usually stick with straight Patron (bad news) or vodka, lemonade with a splash of cranberry. Depending on where I go, sometimes I get a vodka water and bring my own mix (like those to go packets) because the lemonade can have a lot of sugar.

  8. Hey girl. Thanks for you comment on my blog. Everyone is different and adjusts to the band different ways. Keep a positive attitude and let the Band serve as a tool to help you lose the weight. It's not going to take it all off for ya, you have to put in the work too. :) I joined a gym about a month after getting banded and have been full force since then. Good luck on your journey...keep me updated!

  9. Hi Bell. Thanks for your comments on my blog. I started working out a littl bit about 2 weeks post surgery. Just doing small things like going for long walks. About a month afterwards, I joined a gym and started working out more frequently. I had a workout buddy in the beginning, so that made it easier. She has stopped going as often, but I still work out all the time; however, having her in the beginning helped give me the push I need.

  10. Thanks for your comment on my blog!!! Good luck on your journey. Let's stay in touch. :)

  12. It's called being impatient. :) I'm from Chicago...aka other side of the world.

  13. Thanks. I wish it would come off faster!!! I'm ready to be skinny like yesterday. Haha. I know, I know, that's not the healthiest way, but I'm getting there. I work out a lot, so I guess I'm doing it the healthier way. So Anaheim huh? Might as well be on the other end of the world...oh yeah, you are. :)

  14. Hey now, I only speak the truth. You're doing really good. I'm almost 6 months out and down about 75. I feel great! So where are you from?

  15. You look amazing. I saw your new pics. So inspirational!! You go girl. :)

  16. Hey there...thanks for the compliment. You're not so bad yourself...hubba hubba. :) When were you banded? How are you doing so far?

  18. Hi Sharon. Thank you for the compliment! Having the lapband is the best decision I've ever made for myself. As my pounds start to shed, I've been getting more questions as to what I've been doing, so I decided to write a blog about my journey thus far. Please visit my page to check it out and if you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thanks again and good luck on your journey!

My Journey - 6 months post op - down 79lbs

**Updating due to nutritional changes** Since I've been getting more messages lately asking for advice, what do I eat, how often do I work out, etc., I thought I would take a little time to blog about it. It makes me chuckle a little bit because 7 months ago, I never thought that I would have been one to give any kind of health or workout advice...ever. I am definitely not an expert and am learning as I go as well, so what I'm about to share is only what has worked for me. Everyone's bodies are different and will adjust to the band in different way and our bodies will adjust to the weight loss in different ways as well. MY STATISTICS Age: 29 Kids: Alyssa, 4 yrs old Height: 5'7 Starting Weight: 285 Current Weight: 212 Starting BMI: 44.6 Current BMI: 33.2 Band date: 8/27/09 Band type: AP - holds 10CC Current fill: a little over 5CC (about to have some removed as my band is a little too tight at the moment) MY DIET Morning: Protein shake - In the beginning, I was doing something quick like a Slimfast. If I have time to doctor it up then I like to blend as strawberry slimfast with a banana, ice and a dash of cinnamon OR the cappuccino slimfast is good blended with ice and two teaspoons of peanut butter. However, I found out from my doctor that I wasn't getting nearly enough protein, so I headed over to GNC for some advice. I am now drinking the Syntha 6 Protein Shake (Mochaccino is my fav). It is a little higher in calories and fat grams then some of the other protein shakes, but it is actually very good tasting and since I take it as a meal supplement, I have some calories to spare. No morning snack Lunch: Cup of soup OR a salad OR a SmartOnes/Lean Cuisine meal OR tuna wrap Afternoon snack: Piece of fruit or some other low fat snack Dinner: SmartOnes/Lean Cuisine meal OR 1/2 Chicken Breast with side of green beans OR 1/2 hamburger patti with slice of cheese and side of corn OR soup (I'll doctor up a can of soup for dinner with chopped onions, cilantro, hot sauce) Drinks: Coffee in morning; I try to get in at least 4-5 bottles of water a day and add Special K Protein Water mix for the additional protein WORK OUT SCHEDULE Monday: Body Works class (aerobics class using weights) Tuesday: Kickboxing class + Abs Wednesday: Pilates OR Weights + Abs Thursday: Spin/Cycle class (you can burn 800-1000 calories during one of these classes) + Abs Friday: Weights + Abs Saturday: Workout with personal trainer on either Upper or Lower body using weights (depending on what I did the night before) all my workouts range from 1-1.5hrs MY VITAMINS Solotron Chewable Multivitamin - 2xs daily Biotin - open and add capsule to shake 2xs weekly As far as my banded life has been. I have had 3 fills since being banded (doc says I'm far behind on my fills). All fills have been pretty easy and have given me a good amount of restriction; however, this last fill, a little too much was put in and I need to have some removed. One indicator that your band is too tight is if you cannot drink an entire glass of water without wanting to vomit or spit it back out, then your band is probably too tight. Needless to say, I haven't been able to put anything but liquids down...mostly soup. Hopefully after tomorrow it'll be easier. Again, just proves that having the band is trial and error and everyone's body adjusts to it differently. I hope this helps and good luck on your journey. Please always feel free to email me with any questions! Missy
  23. Let me clarify...you look SMALLER than 274. hahaha
