Hi there. Thanks for the comment. Yes, I exercise very regularly between 4-6 times per week. I'm about 17 months out and have lost 128 pounds. Good luck on your journey

Hey girl, keep your head up! I remember I was in a lot of pain the first couple of days as well, but it will get better soon, I promise! each day is better than the last...and it is TOTALLY worth it! Getting the band is the best decision I've ever made for myself!!! Good luck and keep me posted on your progress.

Hi there. thanks for the compliment! I've lost 123 pounds and was banded a litte over 16 months ago. In the beginning I was exercising about 5-6 times per week, it slowed down to about 3-4 time but now I'm picking it back up again trying to drop these last 17 pounds to my goal.

Hey lady. Thank you so much for the compliment. It means more to me than I think you realize. Posting pics make me feel like I'm being held accountable and it's pretty awesome to look back and see how I've come. I'm in the bottom stretch now...20 pounds to go until my goal!

I'm on this site because I'm post band! I've lost 120lbs since being banded on 8/27/09. I'm at a standstill right now, but still have another 25 to go!

Hey there, how's your weight loss coming along? Its so hard to give pointers these days since I havent lost a pound in a couple of months now (think I need a fill). The best advice I can give is to make sure you are working out at least 3-4 times a week (I was doing 5-6 times in the beginning) and make conscious decisions of what you are eating. The band does limit the amount of food you can eat, but it doesnt always limit what you are eating. Heavy starches like bread, certain pasta, rice, gives me a hard time but i can live without. Chips on the other hand, is my weakness and it does not limit that for me really.
So just beware. Count your calories. Know of what it takes to burn those calories off and you may think twice before making a bad decision. 30 minutes on the elliptical at a pretty steady pace burns about 350 for me and that's pretty hard work. So some times when I go for that bag of chips and thats 280 cals, it doesnt seem worth it.

Thanks for the comment. That pic seems forever ago now. I was only down 63 in the pic and am down 115 now (almost double that). I still have problems with lose skin but as I continue to work out it seems to get a little better. I think my thighs will always have the lose skin. I guess my payment for letting myself go too far for too long. I plan on having corrective surgery one day but am waiting until I have another baby in a couple of years.

Hi there, thanks for the compliment. I actually wrote a blog thats on my page about my diet/workout routine. I've since slowed down the working out, but my weight loss has slowed as well, so I really believe strongly the key to success is working out (it also helps some with the saggy skin). Please check out my blog and let me know if you have any other questions.

Hey there...thanks for the comment. Getting to the point I am was a lot of hard work, but I'm confident you'll get there too! I've had a lot of people ask about my workout/diet along the way, so I wrote a blog about it. If you go to my page, there are tabs next to the Vistior Message. The >> has a drop down menu for blog. Check it out and let me know if you have any questions. Get excited, your life is about to change in a couple of months!

Hey there...awe, that's so sweet!!! I am proud for what I've accomplished, but it's been a lot of hard work to get there. The lapband only helps monitor the amount of food you take in, so you have to have the mindset that you are going to help it along. You'll do great though...having the band is the best decision I've ever made for myself. Get excited, in a couple of days your life is going to change! If you ever have any questions (i had a TON in the beginning), please dont hesistate to reach out. Good luck!

Hi there, in reply to your post, I've lost 115 pounds with the band, so I'm not sure why the doctor would provide you that info. I know that you do have to fall within a certain BMI in order to be considered for the band, so it depends on your height and weight before they consider gastric vs lapband. My doc told me that it would take me about 2 years to reach a goal of 150-160. I'm 169 now so I'm going to try and see if I can get down to 140 (my ultimate goal) by the end of the year so I can beat his time and weight.
