Anyone traveling to Mexicali at end of the month?

We are all going to be there to support one another - it feels like we are prepping for a celebration no surgery.....I love the excitement and support here. I think I am the only one traveling alone so look for me to adopt some of your support you all bring along LOL:laugh0: There is one more, Sue from SC....she's not on the boards - however her friend Lavanda (Sleeved also by Dr. Aceves this past spring and down a 62lbs) sent me a message and "introduced" us. Sue has her sleeve date set the same as Ky.hen! Dr. Aceves and crew are all going to think we are family and planned this the way it seems that we "know" each other already. I can't wait it's getting SO CLOSE!!!!!! -

I will be coming from Las Vegas. Also, Lizzy M will be arriving on the 29th for sleeve on the 30th then KY.hen and Sue (not currently on this forum) will be joining us on the 30th for the sleeve on the 1st. Looks like we are taking over the ward! :thumbup: We are stronger in numbers....sounds like you will have a nice drive, how far is it? -

I just found another lady who will be joining you on the 1st for her VSG. She doesn't have a home computer and can not access this site from work. Her friend Lavanda contacted me. Lavanda had surgery May 21st and has lost 62lbs.!

Pretty soon we are going to have the whole ward figured out for support! Now if I can only locate someone arriving on the 28th for VSG on the 29th. Oh well, I'm sure I will meet them in less than 2 weeks!!!

Hi JageK (Jennifer) - I'm getting sleeved Sept. 29th with Dr. Aceves. I have been (pretty) quietly watching this board for all of the different emotions that I see people go through, both pre and post op. Before I saw that you were three weeks out, I thought to myself (from reading the other posts) that if this is your first stall you must be about three weeks out. It seems to be very common, so don't feel like you are a failure - seems to me that you are on the successful track now as many of those very successful sleevesters out here seem to hit that same stall and I am expecting it also mid October:glare:....but I know it will pass and some last longer than others. Phew, thanks Judy now I don't feel like such a freak about the eating. I am going to the store tomorrow at lunch to pick up the slim fast low carb shakes. I have some meal bars and snacks from slim fast....I'm going to "cut down" to these first and then watch my carbs extra close next week. Keep me posted on what you eat and what troubles you find. I will do the same. I think less time to "prepare" the better....didn't many of us get here from eating too much do to stress LOL. Thanks for the response.

I was just checking in to see how you were doing? Are you starting to get ready for the VSG? I'm having an awful time...the closer it gets the more I seem to eat. I was wondering if you felt them same or if you were having better luck. I am starting to think about starting the pre op diet a week ahead of time just to get out of this eating craze. Please let me know how you are doing. Look forward to hearing from you.

Wow! Chancie you look incredible! I agree with the others, your are an inspiration for all of us especially those of us waiting for our VSG (Ky, Lizzy M and I will all be in Mexicali together one right after the other!) My son is 3 and I have thousands of pictures (love my digital camera)! LOL. I will have my laptop, maybe I should bring some pages for my scrapebook I want to do for him. Who knows we might find a little time for you to show me a few tricks if you don't mind? I almost feel like this is going to be a mini vacation....I get to be waited on and in my pjs and not have to worry about what my son is into and where he is at..... SO LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS STEP FOR A NEW LIFE but know I won't be able to wait to get home to Bug (his name is David, however I call him Bug and I tend to forget to clarify that and I often have people ask me "what is your son's name" - funny some of my friends can't even remember his real name lol).

Hi! Are you getting ready for your travels? When Vegas Angel mentioned how small the area was I am sure we will be able to be in contact with one another! I am looking forward to it, although I have to leave my son at home, I am still excited as I am doing this for me & him! Good luck and I look forward to staying in touch with you!

Hi Ky.hen! I look forward to it! I do my pre-op testing on Lizzy's VSG day then you come in on mine....we're gonna have to meet up if possible - we're all going to be in "different stages" of recovery! I can't wait!!! Trudy -
That would be great! I am so excited and nervous at the same time. Vegas Angel and Rosebud2 live in my area and they are going to get together in Sept. pro-op for me and they asked if I would like to join them...I said of course! I just want to get an idea from them what they ate pre-op and what they had at their house waiting for them to return? And little questions, just for reassurance. If you have anything you would like me to ask them "face to face" let me know and I will be happy to share with you.
Please stay in touch...we can get through these next four weeks together!
