I'm out and on the road to losersville. We will all have to try and set up maybe an annual weekend. Hey Vegas would be a great start! I haven't heard from Orchidfan sees diagnol across the hall. I was the last procedure so I'm sure you all will be hearing from her soon. Well I think that is about all I can do think I need to get some sleep. Congrats Shanda! I've been reading your posts and WAITING for your scale update. It is so encouraging. Sounds like you've been doing so well, with a few small bumps in the road. Have your emotions balanced out? Good luck and looking forward to joining you on the "losers" side in a few days. I will do my best to stay off the scale for the first two weeks so I can only hope for a scale victory even if its not close to yours it will feel great!

Hello all, as most of us are aware Dr. Aceves will have his hands full of VST'ers next week. When I started this journey I was planning on traveling alone...now with my fellow VST'ers I don't feel as though I am going to be there alone at all. Would you please mind posting your arrival dates so that we know who we can find and when. I know there are numerous posts, but thought now that it is "crunch" time this might be easier to get a clear picture of who is where and when :thumbdown: so we can offer our support to one another. Also, if you don't mind loaning items to others, such as movies, please list those. I myself will be taking Pretty Woman, Shrek, Step Brothers and a few others yet to be determined. Arrivng Monday 9/28 Departing Friday 10/2 I can't "weight" for this to all be over so I can start my NEW LIFE! :confused1:

I agree with Tiffy - hair loss is a side effect of all surgeries, generally it is a side effect of the anesthesia and I believe it can last up to 8 months post surgery. I don't think it is so severe that others notice it (other than our hair dressers).

I am very excited! I actually got my suitcase out to pack today - I think Ky.hen has been planning on her packing details for quite awhile. I am really looking forward to this, I haven't had anytime to be nervous but I'm sure once I am on the plane it will hit me. I feel like I'm going to camp - LOL

We WILL NOT leave without you! That would be great if your Dad came with you, my parents weren't supportive either but understand now and actually are watching my son and then bringing him home from IL when I get home and had a few days to rest and recoup in my quiet house. Ivy what time are you arriving, are you going to be there by 1:00 for the drive with Ernesto to Mexicali? If so I will try to meet you over at your gate and then we can find Ernesto together at baggage. What online games do you play? Look forward to meeting you Monday.

I had Atikins RTD vanilla for Breakfast 1 piece of string cheese SlimFast meal bar - lunch Atkins RTD strawberry for dinner will have some more cheese and a little beef Jerky for a snack. (I usually don't drink two meals currently as I don't want to hate liquids next week - I just ran out of time today and needed something quick after work). It's working for me. Tomorrow I will probably have eggs and who knows what else :scared0:

Of course you can borrow my laptop to send emails to those you need to. I'm bringing Shrek, Pretty Woman and whatever comes in from Netflix before I leave.

Great job Chancie! I have two dogs, one I have been successful and having her lose 3lbs (she "could lose a little" per the vet) when we went back she had. I measure her food and play non-stop (so it seems) with her. Now my Pom/Chihauhua mix...having a tough time getting him to lose a pound. I measure his food and he only gets one treat a day. So I ended up cutting his food back a little more still nothing so it looks like doggie diet food for him. He weighs 13lbs and the vet wants him down to 11, once it cools off we will be taking walks more often. Congrats to you and your baby!

Hi Susan, I am taking my laptop, thank you for offering to share your DVD player. It also plays DVDs, so I will have some movies with me. Let me know what you are taking and I will send you my list in a PM and then maybe we can borrow so we don't have to watch the same movies over and over again! Looking forward to meeting you!

Hey Judy! I am SO ready to go...one week from tomorrow. Yes I have been good on my pre-op diet. I started a week early and have already lost 7lbs! How are you doing? I still haven't packed or finished shopping, I will do that next weekend to keep myself busy. I think I am so excited that I don't have time to be nervous. BTW, we will warn Dr. Aceves and team to rest up for the flock he has next week:thumbup:

Hi Ivy, If you're flying into San Diego on the 28th it looks like you and I will be together from saying goodbye to our unsleeved life to saying hello to our new life as fellow Sleeve Sistas! My dates are the same as yours - I am so excited and to think just a little bit longer!

I have my sleeved date set with Dr. Aceves on Sept. 29, so I am heading out the morning of Sept. 28. I will be traveling alone and have so much going on in my head (leaving my young son at home with my Aunt, not being at work, dealing with those that I have told and then listening to others that don't agree with this that they they have told...oh and I can't forget my two dogs and how much I will miss them.) I am on here several times a day reading and rereading through the posts. I have received a lot of support and information from everyone sharing so much. I thought it was time I finally reached out and asked for some help myself. I want to make sure I am prepared in Mexico. Can you please give me suggestions of things to take (I've seen hair dryer and wash clothes) but anything else I might need. Also, where is the pharmacy in Mexicali to get the nexium? Should I get it on the 28th after my pre-op appts or wait until after surgery? I don't want to get lost as I have no sense of direction. I will be home alone with my son when I return the hardest thing for me will be when I pick him up from preschool on Monday and him running to me and NOT being able to pick him up for a big hug...but we will get through that. Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Also, please let me know if anyone else will be down there at the same time. I have communicated with a couple of people but the more the merrier!
