  1. Congrats Shanda! I was sleeved two weeks after you, I love watching your updates as I am about on the same losing schedule as you (although it's going to take me a little longer to hit onderland) I hope to reach 50lbs loss by Christmas. You're going to be an absolute beautiful bride.... Looking forward to seeing pictures of the new you in onederland!

    YEAH! Onederland Today!

Congrats Judy! So happy for you. I can't wait until I get there! My goal is to lose 50lbs by Christmas. I hit a mean stall, but got over that and now I'm down 40.2lbs Woo Hoo!!!! So happy for you......so what's your new goal?
  3. I was doing so well, in the first four weeks I lost 31lbs! I was cruising along until my body caught on and STOPPED!!!! I have now been at a stall for 2 weeks. I am losing my motivation fast and the desire to exercise is quickly fading but still exercising. When I first realized I was at a stall I told myself that I didn't need to post anything as I have read so many other posts and seems almost everyone stalls......but I can't take it any longer. Seems to me most of you stall for a few days or a week, anyone have a longer stall this early post op? My frustrations are growing quickly. I didn't measure myself so not sure if I'm losing any inches, however my clothes don't seem to be any bigger. I am eating between 700-810 calories a day. I feel like I am actually going to be "that" person that this doesn't work for

    Screeeeeeching Halt

It's OVER!!!!! My stall has left...I hope. I got on the scale this morning and I have starting losing again. Only 3lbs but we all need to lose one at a time, right? I am so happy three weeks with no lose was really tough, however I see that I have come out of it successfully and look forward to moving on down the scale! And will battle the next stall just as hard! Thanks again for all of your support!

    It zipped...NSV

Congrats deedee! I am so happy for you! I am still able to wear the clothes I was wearing pre-op (many got pretty tight) but everything is loose! I am looking forward to getting out of women's sizes and into regular size clothes that I enjoy shopping for. Congrats again, your hard work has paid off!

any need for medical id bracelet

I saw my PCP last week and while I was there I asked him about a medic alert and he said it wasn't necessary for the VSG. He did suggest that I might want to put a piece of paper in my wallet near my DL that had my vsg mentioned on it along with my medical condition (that I already have an ID for) and any medication I am currently taking, both over the counter and prescription. So I typed one up the next day and it's in my wallet.
  9. So my Aunt was talking to a friend of hers who has had the lapband. She told my Aunt to make sure I knew NOT to brush my teeth for 15 min if I got slimes or even threw up? That does not make sense to me as that is coating your teeth to protect from the acid that comes up, but why would you not want to brush your teeth for 15 min? That is the first thing I want to do. Has anyone else heard anything like this?
  10. Great picture, so glad you have gotten Sue on here one way or another! I stay in touch with her via emails

    full liquids tomorrow

Hey Ivy, How are you doing? I started full liquids Friday night with cream of chicken Soup mixed with Water to be safe will mix with milk next time. It took me two days to eat it, but I ate it slowly and did great. I also had a Atkins shake, drank it slowly and it was fine also. I'm back on clears today as I have an upper respiratory infection and not feeling well at all. I know I should be feeling great from the surgery but with this lingering I'm not on top of my game yet - but will be very soon! Good luck to you and I still need to get our pictures posted but have been on here very limited. Will PM you once they are posted.
  16. Thank you both, I needed the reassurance even though I knew exactly what I was going to do anyway. I just can't think of any reason for this logic. If I get more feedback, I will share her "logic" for this.

    Phentermine

Steph, I have to admit I agree with everyone else that the phentermine is a bad idea. When I went in for my first initial appt. on WLS one of the items required was a psychological "clearance." Does your insurance cover any type of mental health? Maybe look to talk to someone about behavior modification. I am keeping this in the back of my mind just in case it is something I find that I need in the future if I find myself in the same situation. Good luck and please keep us posted on your progress!

    Dry cough

I have noticed over the past couple of days I have developed a dry cough. No allergies, no cold, doesn't exist when I go to bed only really starts when I try to talk. I am even able to do those breathing exercises without coughing. Do you think this can be another side effect of that anesthesia? It was totally worth it - I wouldn't have done the surgery without it, just curious if it is how long it will last?

Thanks Vegas, I sent her an email and will let you know what she says....just in case someone else comes up with this irritating cough.

    30 day shred

Wow, I started looking for classes near my house and found a bunch! Now how many weeks do I need to wait post op before I start these classes?
  21. I'm doing great Judy! How are things with you? I get to start full liquids tomorrow but have adapted so well to my clears - sounds funny - I think it is going to take some effort. I will upload our group picture this weekend. I haven't been online much, I went back to work on Monday and just taking care of things around my house (had to decorate for Halloween). This is the most I have really been on at all. I've logged in a few times to "check" to see how everyone is going. Thanks for checking in on me!

  22. Orchidfan and I have made it to Mexicali and had a wonderful dinner last night with her father. Today is the day. We are at the hospital and are waiting to go in for our VG. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. I hope this comes out on the forum clear as I'm typing it onto the site with my blackberry. Hope we are both online later with our progress.
  23. Hi Cajun,

    ky.hen et all

Judy asked that I post that she is up and walking. Also aware that tomorrow will be tough. She's a trooper and it was great having her come in to overlap our stay. She is the absolute sweetest thing. She wants to thank everyone for your thoughts and prayers. I'm heading back to Vegas tomorrow and should have some pictues posted soon of many of Dr Aceves "works of art" this week.
