Thanks Doddie - I am not yet banded, but have my meeting with surgeon, nutritionist and psych evaluation all scheduled for this Tuesday, and if all goes well, hope to be banded in November. Going with NWWLS (Dr. Michaelson). I just spent 10 minutes trying to figure out how to email you.... this site is VERY big! Hi Doddie63, Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, the group in Richmond is no longer meeting and I can't make it out on Wednesdays. Saw mention of a group possibly meeting in Langley and/or South Surrey. Does anybody have any details? Any other group anywhere else that meets on a different day? BTW, I have been visiting this site for some time, and appreciate your frequent, upbeat and helpful posts and replies. Thanks again Doddie63!

Just wanted to introduce myself. I am 48, weigh 218 and started researching the lapband in 2009, when my son wanted to get banded. He is now 13 months post-op and doing real well. I have struggled with excess weight all my life and have lost the same 20 pounds more times than I can count. At last, I have concluded that I really need this tool in order to finally get to a healthy weight and hopefully, to stay there for good. My knees are already giving me some problems, I am on blood pressure meds, have high cholesterol and a horrible family history of heart disease and diabetes. I am motivated to change my path once and for all. Meeting with the surgeon on Tuesday (Nov 2nd) and hope to be banded before the end of November. Thank you all for this wonderful forum!

Hello everyone, I am new here and have searched high and low to figure out where and when meetings are held. I can go practically anywhere in the Lower Mainland, except on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and would really like to meet some fellow bandsters. I have not been banded yet but hope to be real soon and would love to meet some local bandster friends. Thanks in advance for any info you can share. BTW this is a great site! :wink2:

Hi Ryleysgirl - I am new here too (this is my first post, actually) so I am also unsure how this works, but I would love to find some other people who are going through this too. I am not yet banded, have my appointment with the surgeon, nutritionist and psych evaluation all on Nov 2nd, and hope to be banded Nov 18th, if all goes well. I am 48, married woman with grown kids too, from Western Canada. I have around 70 pounds to lose, and am "self-pay" too. If you would like to chat, I would be very pleased to hear about your experience, etc. MamaJ
