Last day of September...but still September!
Katlynn replied to Katlynn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
No lashing from me :smile2: I have a 2 week pre-op diet but it is 2 weeks of shakes twice a day and a healthy choice/lean cuisine meal for dinner. So not nearly as hard as liquid only. I only do the all liquids the day before surgery. I've lost 7 pounds in 12 days on this diet so far!I am self pay so I didn't have to do the 6 months of dieting before hand. However, I have been dieting for the past 5 months and have lost 27 pounds (including the 7 I just lost on the pre-op diet). So after I am banded I hope to lose the last 70 pounds to get to my goal weight (125). -

How soon after surgery can you lift??
Katlynn replied to abeckel's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My daughter is almost 20 pounds. Since the doctor told me about a week, I only made arrangements for help for one week. I guess I will figure out ways to not pick her up much the last 3 weeks. -
Just popping in to say hello. I too have PCOS and IR, was diagnosed with it by a fertility doctor after an ovarian ectopic pregnancy. I get several large and painful cysts on my ovaries monthly. I went undiagnosed for years in my early 20's. I gained a 100 pounds in less than a year. I was able to lose the weight by basically starving myself and doing 2 hours of step aerobics a day -- but I couldn't keep that up. As I got older I decided having a baby was my number priority, so I went through several treatments and had a baby a year ago! A dream come true for someone who is told that they can not have children. Anyway, after having my baby I decided it was finally time to concentrate on me, which led to my lap band decision. I will be banded Sept. 30 and I am so excited! Concerning laser hair removal - LOVE IT! One of the best things I have ever invested in!

Now I'm worried. I asked this specific question (how long after surgery until I can pick up my 1 year old daughter) and my doctor told me about a week. That was my main concern and my number one question. He said for me to be careful and not overdo things but never once was I told 4 weeks! Cripes! -
Another newbie here. I am having my lap-band surgery on October 7th. I'm very excited and am enjoying reading through this forum. Dr. Hitchcock at Malley Surgical Weight Loss Center in Kansas is my doctor. I look forward to getting to know everyone and learning from your experience and success!

I'm very excited! I was able to get my surgery moved up to September 30th instead of October 7th! I start my 2 week diet September 16th!

Thanks Miztrniceguy and WOWOX7! Y'all have done fantastic!

I know this isn't the newest of threads but I too am in the KC area and Dr. Hitchcock will be doing my surgery Oct. 7th.

Thanks Plain! I am very motivated and wish my surgery date was sooner than October  Question for any one. I see people mentioning keeping a journal after their surgery. Would this be a food/calorie style journal? Thanks
