Losing...or not...as the case may be
grizzlyrider commented on grlwunderkas's blog entry in Blog 41238
When I just can't seem to lose, I take a look at what I am eating. I really have to stick tight to eating solid protein with a little veg and fruit on the side to use my band to it's potential. It is amazing how much difference that makes and it's so easy to forget. I'm 10 months out from surgery and down 86 lbs, hoping for 100 by my anniversary! -
When I have had enough I burp - if I eat any more I start hiccuping wildly!!!!

You know what I'm NOT going to miss?!

I'm so glad to see I am not the only one. I was also always the hot one and now I too keep a heater under my desk. I also wear those gloves with the finger tips cut off while I am working and I am still freezing. I am seriously going to have to buy some really, really warm clothes next winter! -
Some of My Children NEVER will Grow up! Some Days!
grizzlyrider commented on janetsjourneytoslim's blog entry in Blog 75574
I don't think we are ever finished raising our kids. I have an adult daughter and her boyfriend moving in with us in a couple months. Now I shouldn't complain because they are finally coming from West Virginia to Minnesota to be with us but it would have been better had they saved up and been in a position to be self sufficient. But, again, at least I will have her here. And, Great Job on the 4 l/2 lbs, I haven't had a nice drop like that in a long time. Feels good doesn't it! -
I agree, it drives me absolutely crazy!
-
Update! It will make you feel better!
-
I agree with the others. Being too tight seems to be causing you to eat the wrong foods - sliders.

I just always order water and just let it sit there - it's a lot easier that way!

Heading North to ALASKA! Cruise Time has arrived!

Yes, good for you, you deserve to have fun! White water rafting is something I always thought would be fun but I was afraid to do it because I figured I'd be too big and uncoordinated and fly out of the boat! Someday I'm going to DO IT!!! You have a really great time! -
I was also afraid that it would not work for me. There were so many years that I would try and try to lose the weight and it just wouldn't come off. I kind of thought it was impossible for me to lose weight. But, I was wrong. I am 8 months out from surgery and have lost 80 lbs. It does work and you will not regret for a minute your decision to do this. I know I don't.

I did not cheat either. Maybe the subject just attracted those who had cheated. I'm 99% sure that most people are dedicated to succeeding at this and do not cheat!

6th fill was my sweet spot and in ONEDERLAND!!!!

Yay! Getting under 200 is fantastic! I'm hoping to get there before my bandiversary Aug 31. I'm very happy for you! -
The thing is some days you have good restriction and then some days it's like you have none at all. Sometimes it takes a couple days or a couple weeks for a new fill to give you restriction. Every day is different but I bet even if you didn't feel restriction you still were not as hungry between meals as before the band. It all works out and having a day that you don't think you have restriction doesn't mean that anything is wrong.

Just needed to celebrate

You really do look fantastic, you actually look like a totally different person! Congratulations! -
I do scan the room, and the hallway in the mall, and stores and restaurants. I feel so much better and when I see people who are as heavy as I was I want to go up to them and tell them there is hope, and there is a way to finally lose the weight. I don't of course. Now I actually want to see myself in pictures because that is the only way I truly can see a difference in myself. I'm still struggling with the body image and, of course, have a ways to go yet, but when you see yourself in a picture you can really "see" yourself!

So sorry to hear about your father in law. Take care of each other.

Going ALL PROTEIN for Three to Four Days! Shakin it up!
grizzlyrider commented on janetsjourneytoslim's blog entry in Blog 75574
You go girl! If enthusiasm is any measure weight will begin to fall off of you soon! On another note, I used to live in the FL panhandle also, Panama City actually. Pretty there but too hot for a Minnesotan like me! -
So, I have been wondering what size I am in now. I haven't been able to go shopping because of the whole knee replacement business. I suddenly remembered that in my closet there is a dress that belonged to my daughter. It is an 18 and all the clothes I have been wearing are 26/28 (granted they are baggy as can be). So, I experimented and tried the dress on (it is a long formal dress). I got it on!!! I zipped it up!!!! Shocking - now, it is too tight to actually wear anywhere but - I got it on!!! I zipped it up!!!!!! An 18!!!! Life is good!

That's so cute! I should have worn the dress for my husband too but he probably would have thought I had lost my mind!
-
Yes, I was so excited that I ordered a bunch of Tshirts for the summer. (I still don't want to spend a lot on clothes - I figure the BIG shopping will be Next summer). I've been hesitating but felt confident now to order 1X's (figured tshirts will shrink a bit - couldn't quite make myself order an XL) rather than the 3X's I've worn in the past. So exciting!!!!!!

Bought a size 12 tonight! Not a 24W anymore! Whoo Hooo!
grizzlyrider commented on janetsjourneytoslim's blog entry in Blog 75574
That's so funny, we had similar experiences today. Yay for the size 12, how great. I don't think I've EVER worn a size 12. You're right about the positive attitude - it makes all the difference in the world! -

I went back to work after 7 days and feel I could have used a few more days off. I was too tired and just not ready to be out in the world. After the second week I was good to go so anyone thinking about it, dont be afraid to take a few extra days off if you can.

I have often wondered why they put the port on the right side for a right handed person. I had the same "bathroom" problem - it was really hard and hurt a lot! I wish I had thought about it ahead of time and had it put on the left side.
