When was your surgery?

I paid $30k for my band cash. My insurance paid for removal and bypass $100 copay for each surgery

I survived on eveything blended from my blentek for breakfast i still blend raw greens with a protein scoop, its a great way to get your greens in. After a bypass though, im not sure when you are alowed to put greens in a blend er?

I know a gal who was banded for 8 years, had a clean removal then went in 5 months later for her bypass and came out with a sleeve because she had too much scar tissue for the bypass. Thats my fear! I had the band for 7 years and got it out 2 months ago. My bypass surgery should be early march, no exact date yet.

Pink, what do you do that you have to go back to work so quickly? The healing process is SOOOOO Important, cant you swing another week? Im sure you can get a doctors note if that helps.

Good luck!!! I had my band out the end of October and my bypass is on for March. My sergon wont do it in one operation so Im struggling now not to gain even more weight while I wait. Lucky you!! Let us know how you did! Prayers!

I'll only be on a one day liquid pre op diet for my bypass. Every doctor is so different, I had my band out a month ago now and down 1 tiny pound. It's so hard not to EAT now!

I live in san diego ca now, sydney was wonderfull, made it to canberra, asdelaide, ayres rock and fiji while i was down that way. ....... loved it all! Are you married? I am, for 13 happy years and im a mom of a 10 yr old at 50! So im excited that weight loss will help me run with him!! So, after 6 years i said goodbye to my friend the band. It was still fine, no erosion no slippage, i just wanted it out. Boy am i in pain, yikes! I threw up all day in the hospital yesterday and now i have 2 days clear liquids then back to a normal diet. For those who had their band out what was your post op diet?

Oh ya, I can eat again and it scares me! I actually wish my surgeon would have the same rule as yours because that sounds super motivating to me! I would not want to be denied after all of this because i gained 3 pounds!!!!!!!! My fitness pal has me eating no more than 1200 a day So now that I can eat it feels very depriving. How old are you? Im 50 and live in San Diego Ca.

Oh my gosh, a feeding tube? Oh no! How long will it be in place? Im sure the hope is to eat soon right? How much weight did you loose after your revision? Didnt you take your vitamins? How did it get this far? Sorry for the questions but im genuinely curious!

Hello! Im hlad your doing well! I had my band placed Nov 09 and did well at first, but like all banded people I started getting so unsatisfied, Id just get stuck on a few bites and be hungry. So id eat sliders to feel full and gained it all back. Had it removed October 29 2015, almost had it 6 years! Now that Im feeling better after surgery (i really had a hard time, got super sick and threw up for a few days right after) it took me a good 2 weeks to recover, anyway now im hungry and boy i can eat! I havent had a regular meal in 6 years and i need some super willpower not to gain before my bypass!!! My lameoooo insurance company has got me in this stupid support group till January (6 months long) and its torture. The people in the group are unfortunate, they are uneducated and realy need to learn about what they are getting into. But they group people like me in with them, and not to sound snotty but ive been there done that. Did a lot of pre op stuff before band so i have almost 7 years of experience and i still have to suffer every tuesday night with all the folk who really need to be there...heck i could teach the class! Anyway i need my insurance to pay for it so i jump through the hoops. Reality is though that i have 3 months with no band and i dont want to gain!!!!

Hi!!! We are very alike! I had my band put in Nov 09 and just removed it 2 weeks ago! My bypass is not scheduled yet I have to wait the same amount of time to heal up first. Lets buddy up! Id love a friend to help me not gain weight while i wait for my bypass!!!!!

Hey! I just logged in to ask the exact same thing! Id love to hear how others did with recovery after lap band removal??? I had my band out 9 days ago, no complications just a simple removal.....but Im still do tired! I threw up for about 24 hrs after removal and slept on and off for days! Though I turned the corner a few days ago but I feel horrible again today I saw my doc yesterday for a follow up, he said everything looked great but why do I feel like this? Gosh Id perrish if I had to look after a 2 yr old this week! My bypass will be the first of next year.....no date yet.
