  1. My honeymoon isnt over yet either Elfie! I am always roaming the boards. Every moment of every day I am aware I have this band inside me, even with my first sip of coffee in the morning ... I am constantly reminded ... so posting and reading makes me feel a bit more normal...I love the fact that I have even made REAL friends through this thing! It's awesome. I dont think I will weigh today....I have a bad cold and feel like I am retaining Water (my hands feel swollen) so I'll just pass on being a scale whore today. soon2b ... why are u moving?

    Breakfast: Protein Shake Snack: yogurt Lunch: Atkins protein bar Snack: A few sugar free popsicles Dinner: 1/2 cup home made whole wheat mac n cheese.
  3. OK so I had my 3rd fill. I am at 5.5 in a 10cc band and WOW what a difference. I hope this is my sweet spot ....I hate to jinks myself but this might be it!!
  4. I feel the pain.......everything I ate today was OK...some fullness fast but what gave me the problem today? Taking a tiny pill with a sip of water (that I take every night with no problems) Till tonight :smile2:
  5. Its weird...I can eat some things sometimes but not others. Last night I ate steak, not a lot but I ate it, no problems at all. This afternoon I got stuck on a very soft peice of chicken. The steak was WAY harder I have no clue why. I can also still do bread, Pasta, rice. All of the things they say wont stay down. I just think everyone is different and not only that but every day is different too!

    Hi Betsy, thanks for the input! You are the only one who answered me. I know many docs say do no carbs or low carbs but my doc is all about eating NORMALLY. Anything you want in moderation focusing first on protein, then veggies then fruits & carbs. I need to do better with veggies....I send my doc my food diary and the dietitian and I email a lot. My plateu is over I think! I am at 196 now and super happy!! WHOOO HOOOOOO!!!! Today: Breakfast: 50g 220cal shake Snack: Yogurt 15g protein 90 cal Lunch: 2oz chicken breast Snack: Stick of string cheese 60cal Dinner: Will be turkey meat loaf & broccoli

  8. Thats great! I have had a few slimey problems but no pb's or heartburn. I am just very AWARE of my band now...I feel it even with Water. I will have to do better with water tomorrow...today was hard.

  11. I got my 3rd fill yesterday. I now have 5.5 in my 10cc band and WOW I finally feel it! Breakfast today was horrible, I tried a yogurt with blueberries and it took an hour, one blueberry at a time. Then around 3pm I felt hungry but was too nervous to try to eat so I had a Protein shake. About an hour later I had a 1/4 of my sons turkey sandwitch ... ver slow but it went down fine and I am full. For dinner tonight I am planning a peice of white fish and thats all. I figure now that I FEEL IT I better go slow.
  12. What time is your appointment on the 1st? Maybe we could meet beffore or after ..... Do you come down the 15 to the 56 to the 5 to get to the office? If so you drive right by my exit and we could meet at a park or something and go for a walk to break up your drive.....depends on timing but let me know. AND whats under floro? Not sure....When I go tomorrow it will be in radiology again (where the last 2 were) in that big round thing you stand in.
  13. Here is my oppinion.......why do we feel like we need to say a thing? Dont say anything, if you dont want to tell, dont. You dont need a white lie. it's no ones buisness but your own. BY LAW (here in California anyway) No employer can ask ANY personal health question... I think society in general "shares" too much personal information, like for some reason we have to. I have not told anyone but my family, I have chosen what is right for me....Why lie? Just be honest with yourself and if asked a personal question by some insensitive boob at the office....say "it's personal" and stop talking.
  14. I was banded 11/25/09 and have had 2 glasses of wine since. One on Chrstmas eve and one just a few weeks ago. I am not one to get "drunk" at all, those crazy college days have been over for a long time now. A glass of wine effects me the same way as it did before....just drink slowly and enjoy.
  15. Hello to all of my November friends! I got stuck last night too...on turkey meatloaf no less and thats supposed to be a "soft" food. I just need to eat slower, it seems to happen when I am very hungry. And yes it is sooooo painfull, and scares my 4 year old. So I need to be extra carefull. I go on Monday for fill #3 .... I pushed to get the appointment and now I am a bit shy since I got stuck, but I am still not loosing just maintaining so maybe this will help. My portions are MUCH smaller, so if they get a bit smaller yet and I get my big ol butt on my elliptical I know I'll do better What are you all doing as far as getting cardio in?

    I sent a few days (below) to my dietitian, she gave me a thumbs up on the food but I am still not loosing. I go in for another fill on Monday, maybe I am just still eating too much? What do you guys think? Wednesday Breakfast: Coffee & slice of home made banana bread Lunch: protein drink 40g protein 160 cal Dinner: 4oz flank steak mashed potato with cottage cheese & peas Desert: fat free sugar free pudding, 2 biscotti Thursday Breakfast: coffee, Greek plain no fat yogurt snack: iceopure lunch: slice of turkey meatloaf snack: stick of cheese Dinner: chicken breast, cottage cheese, sugar snap snow peas, 2 bites of bread with butter. snack: sugar free fat free vanilla pudding and 2 biscotti Friday breakfast: coffee, Greek plain no fat yogurt Snack: iceopure Lunch: Slice of turkey meatloaf Snack: string cheese Dinner: BBQ flank steak, rice, peas Desert: cup of fat free jello pudding Saturday Breakfast: Coffee, Greek no fat yogurt Snack: Iceopure Lunch: peice of salmon (frozen from Costco BBQ'ed outside) Snack: Atkins protein bar Dinner: White fish, potato & cauliflower puree & 3 shrimp (Oh and one small glass of white wine) Snack: 2 biscotti & cup of no fat jello pudding Sunday Breakfast: Coffee, 30g protein shake from Costco Lunch/Dinner: 1 home made turkey meat & black bean taco & flour tortilla. I added no fat sour cream, tomato, cilantro & shredded cheddar cheese Desert: cup of no fat jello pudding Monday Breakfast: Coffee. 1 Greek plain no fat yogurt snack: iceopure Lunch: Protein bar (cliff 40g protein) Dinner: beef, barley & lentil soup (home made, more like a stew not much broth) 1 4x4 piece of home made cheese (parmigiana) tomato & basil bread. Desert: cup of no fat jello pudding Tuesday Breakfast: Coffee, 1 Greek plain no fat yogurt Lunch: 1/2 a whole wheat turkey wrap with Havarti cheese, lettuce & tomato Dinner: Turkey meat & black bean (with cooked onion, olive oil & taco seasoning) on a whole grain flour tortilla Desert: 2 pieces or Russell stover chocolate
  17. Oh gosh I feel the same way! I have had 2 fills. After the first fill I felt nothing. After the second fill I felt it, very small sensation but still I felt it and was thrilled, I thought the band was finally going to start doing its job. Now I am back to not feeling a thing. I go for fill #3 on Monday and will ask about pulling it all out to measure it and then re filling it. I HOPE I DONT HAVE A LEAK! Can that happen?? It's plastic so I am sure its not impossible. I am hoping the frusteration will be gone soon, I too have been messing around with about 3 pounds...up down up down up down .... thats why I got the band, to get off this friggin roller coaster!

    Good news -Bad news

    Great job! I know how awesome it feels! And youll do great on your cruis, where are you going? My last cruise was right after my first weigh in before my surgery so I knew I could not gain even a pound! I was on the cruise for 7 nights and didnt gain! There ARE lots of healthy choices!
  19. Thank God I am not alone. I feel hungry too! I know the band will not take all my hunger away all the time however I was in hopes it would "help" me a bit more. I have 4.5 in my 10cc band now and go in for fill #3 this Monday, I am hoping it will finally take the edge off. I sent my dietitian my food diary for the past few days ... she said great job with good food so I guess my inly problem is that I am still eating too much good food?
  20. Can I ask you lower BMI'ers how much you all have in your bands? I have 4.5 in a 10cc band and go this Monday for fill #3 ...... I can still eat everything, bread, rice, you name it I can get it in! So I am hoping another fill will help.
  21. Ahhh! Good to know because I feel the same way. I think I can eat way too much and am just not getting full so I dont think I have enough in my band. Need to go in for fill #3, hope that will be my charm! But great info...THANKS!

    Hiatal Hernia ????????

    I was self pay and my HH repair was included in the lap band price. You can not have a lap band without the HH being repaired. Mine was big, 3 stiches inside and one ouside but it must be done ... I would assume your sergeon would know this?

    Hello Girls! Well I had an OK day today I suppose, but I was hungry a lot. What did you guys eat today? I had: Breakfast - yougurt (no fat greek...it's 90 cal and 15g protein) lunch - a 1/2 a wheat turkey sandwitch wrap dinner - 1/2 a flour tortilla with turkey meat and black bean filling Hmmm.... I had no Snacks today. I also did not have my Protein drink ... shame on me, that helps a lot. It's only 160 cal and 40g of protein, I will have one tomorrow. I ran with my son today, more cardio than I have had in a while but still not enough...I'll do better tomorrow, but at least I did some today. How much do yall have in your bands? I have 4.5 in my 10cc band. I'd like to get 1 more cc.
  24. I agree with elfiepoo ..... suggest she do the 5 day poutch test and she must talk to her doctor. I hate to be blunt and please dont take this badly but she lying about a few things here, nothing is adding up?

    And then one you are in onederland watch out! I have been going up and down up and down up and down. My husband says I am obsessed with the scale and not weigh so often, like once a week but I just can not do that! I know I need to get off my LAZY a_s and get my heart rate beating but UGG I hate to sweat. Believe it or not way before the surgery I would work out regularly. When my son was 6 months I joined a group called stroller strides, we met with the kids and walked MILES and did resistance bands, lunges, the whole DAM workout. I was fatter but more fit. I quit when he turned 3 1/2 (he was just to big for the stroller for so long) and since then (a year later) I really have not done much. A few spinns on my $4k elliptical thats gathering dust. We got the best we could get because we thought wed use it (my husband and I) and it has gotten used but not like it should. So maybe you 2 can be my motivation! What are you guys doing? Where do you like? I am in San Diego CA
