About 3 or 4 years ago my brother told me that I really needed to lose weight.  My family was worried about me.  So...I thought I would look into the Gastric Bypass surgery.  I went to my primary care dr. and started exploring it with her.  I then went to a doctor in Pasadena to see if I qualified etc.  I was eligible, but they didn't have any support staff to help me work with the insurance company.  After many calls to my insurance company I discovered that I needed  6 months of doctor supervised weight loss.  I found a nutritionist a few miles from my house and started this part of the process.  Consequently I lost 80 pounds.  This is the most weight I haver ever lost.  I was pretty excited about it all.  Then had a health scare, this knocked me off track.  So...I gained back 50 pounds.  Then about 9 months ago, I figured I needed to re-address the surgery option.  After looking into both surgeries, I landed on the lap band surgery.  I found my dr. from my insurance website.  WOW am I impressed wsith the support staff at my doctor's office.  I've gone to a support group already and will go again next week.  Very helpful stuff.  I have my psychosocial exam on Monday.  I am looking forward to finally moving forward in the adventure.
