  1. Happy 24th Birthday Munchkins!

  2. Happy 23rd Birthday Munchkins!

  3. 2 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 2nd Anniversary Munchkins!

  4. Hi Julie, I read that you had your surgery done in Duluth, MN. That is where I go to school and I'm planning to have my banding done there. Did you get it done at St. Lukes? Drop me a line, msg or whatever :)

  5. Hi, I'm 20 and will be getting banded in December 2009. My current weight is 260 lbs and I'm about 5'5. I just joined the forum so I don't know many people, I thought this would be a good way to educate myself and meet others. I will be a junior in college this fall, majoring in Psychology. Be my mentor?
  6. Continued.....

You had your gallbladder removed? Did you have a lot of pain in the right side of your chest? I had to see an internal medicine doctor for that as well as my tachycardia(elevated heart rate) But I ask about the gallbladder because I was getting pain in the ride side of my chest ONLY after I ate greasy, fattening foods. I googled it(bad idea sometimes!) and found out it could be my gallbladder. But lately, it has not been bothering me, even if I eat some "bad food". At the time I was also on fish oil supplements because my triglycerides are high, but when I stopped taking them, the pain stopped too? It's weird.

Gosh I feel like I am pouring out my life story here, haha. Sorry! And yeah, I have to be on a liquid diet 2 weeks before my surgery. I'm sure people can cheat but I will stick to it. May as well get used to it because of all the restrictions you have to follow post-surg.

    Later.

  7. Hey!

I'm not really nervous, anxious is more like it. I am so ready to shed these pounds, I work out like crazy, which does kind of help because I'm building muscle, but I can't wait to have the surgery mostly because I hear the young people slim down pretty fast unlike the older patients. My mom had the surgery done in Nov 2008, she has lost a lot of weight which is why she said if I wanted to get the surgery, I could. I think it will give me that little "push" I need to get back into a healthy lifestyle.

I have to send you another msg bc I am out of characters.

  8. Hey munchkins,

you left a note in my thread! It is a relief to know I am not the only 20 year old out there and in basically the same stage as me! Are you nervous or anxious? I'm just so ready to be through it...I was told it would be alot like my Gallbladder removal surgery, so I hope I know what to expect.

Are you at all put off by the liquid diet beforehand? Or does your doctor require that? Ive heard alot of people say they cheated on it lol

  9. Hi everybody, I have yet to be banded, 4 more dietician meetings left to go though! Planning on having the surgery sometime in December of this year. I'm 20 years old, been overweight my whole life and I'm ready for a change. I came here to get "educated" as my doctor recommended I check out places online. I'm also hoping to get some support seeing as I probably won't be sharing my experience with EVERYBODY in my life, just a select few
