I am very happy with the decision of getting the band. I was lucky enough to have family support to help me with paying for this...I have had no problems since the surgery. It cured my acid reflux and my sleep apnea. It has not been a fast weight loss for me but I have lost 102 lbs to date and I am still losing. I had the surgery over 2 years ago. It is amazing what little things u think about when u lose a lot of weight like walking down the steps without holding on or crossing ur legs..normal things people do that I could not do. I did go through a protein deficeincy with this so folks be careful about this and eat ur protein, but it didn't happen to me until well after the surgery..less than a year ago. It's just now really bounced back from this. I lost a lot of hair, skin was bad, felt bad...all this. Even now I have  no play room with this. I have to put special effort into getting this into my body. My eating habits are most definately changed. I can say now that I eat to live and not live to eat...but I think my mind is still programmed in ways like the less u eat, the faster u will lose and the overeating habit is there still in my mind...sometimes I will get large portions but I can't eat it.The most amazing and the best thing about this procedure for me is the fact that when you lose it, you won't gain it back. This has been a big problem for me in the past like so many others. I have been on every diet under the sun and they all worked, but as soon as I went off the diet...I gained it all back plus more. After years of this, I got up to 256 lbs. My doctor which is Dr. Ponce is the best. From beginning to end, he has been fantastic.
