After unsuccessfully struggling with my weight since childhood I have finally decided to get "banded" based on the lower risk of complications in comparison to other weight loss surgeries and because my close friend had the operation and it went very successful. I am not the type of person to rush into something without truly thinking it through and I have seriously debated getting this surgery on and off for the past 6 or 7 years. Honestly, I would think about getting the surgery when my weight would be higher but time after time I would go on a diet and lose between 30 and 40 lbs so I would put the idea of surgery on the back burner until I would inevitably regain the weight and more after every single diet. I have literally done every diet and weight loss plan I have heard of that isn't too ridiculous. I went to weight loss camps for 7 years starting when I was a teenager, have gone to nutritionists since childhood, since adulthood I have done Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, HML shakes, sports nutritionists (plural), cabbage soup diet, low carb diets, Lyndora, LA Weight Loss, Nutrisystem and others. I don't feel like getting the surgery is a last result but I think of it more as a tool for me to be able to finally have long term weight loss success and a tool to at last be free of yoyo dieting. Dieting has played a significant role in my life and it would be absolutely spectacular to finally feel free of the effect of repression that my weight has had on me. I do not expect any drastic quick weight loss but I hope that I will reach my weight loss goal of almost one hundred pounds in a couple of years. It is possible to lose it because I have been at lighter weight before, I just look forward to finally being able to keep it off for a lifetime. Wish me luck:)
