  4. I'm only 2 weeks out and have a ways to go but I would looove to cross my legs without wedging my foot on something to keep it pinned there. I would love to go shopping with friends and buy something besides shoes and purses. I would love to go running with my dog, who is WAY more athletic than I am. I would love to not be the biggest person in the room. I would love to inspire my mom to have this surgery so I get to keep her longer.

    Drinking and eating

Just curious but my doctor also said 30 minutes like Tif referenced; maybe you can double check-- I agree with you, an hour seems long!

    1st Month after Surgery

I was sleeved Feb 1st and am down 12 pounds since surgery and 13 pounds on pre op diet. Everyone's different but I'm happy with 12 pounds in 2 weeks especially since I've been healing up and getting used to it and all. I know it's hard but I try not to 'comparison' shop-- its starts to drive me crazy when I see ppl who've been sleeved near me who have lost so much more.
  8. Me toooooo I'm not losing weight , WHAT THE HELL?! But I've read the posts, am following dr's orders and know that things will balance out eventually. Just wanted you to know you're not alone!
  9. Hi YouKnowIt, My surgeon is Dr. Henri Atlas operating from Quebec, Canada. I have to tell you it's wild the range of directives that you find on the board from different surgeons. For instance, I'm on an accelerated schedule now but I was on a 2 week liquid pre op diet which was longer than some who only had to do 3 days or none at all. Maybe that's part of why I get to mushies so much sooner. An interesting fact is the nutritionist gave me the accelerated schedule than a nurse after surgery gave me a much slower schedule (liquids for a month). I called my nurse to clarify which one I should be following and she insisted on the nutritionists faster schedule, thank goodness! I think one of the things to most look forward to once we've healed is this notion that you can eat foods you enjoy but this time modertation is required not intended which makes the process so much easier. Also I don't have a scale in house so it's driving me a little bit nuts-- I brought my dog to the vet and was going to weigh myself on the doggie scale in the waiting room but there were so many people I was too embarassed :drool5:
  10. Bambi thank God you said something, I feel like I can eat too much also! When I read about where people are at this stage, some still just doing liquids and I can have an egg and toast, 1/2 c chili, yogurt, some chicken breast I feel like it's too much. You're right though Loser, I keep saying I can eat too much and my family is looking at me like I'm nuts because proportionally it's still a miniscule amount. I suppose we're the lucky ones, I get a little nervous reading others posts about how much they can't eat.
  11. So I'm officially on mushies! YAY! But I find all I do is think about what I'll eat, how I'll prepare it, mentally visualize it-- after all that I get about 1/2 cup down and that's it! I just think it's funny how much time I spend fantasize about my mini meals that are then executed in under 5 minutes. How are you guys doing in the food prep area? I've given up on protein powders and am trying to get it all from food sources (yogurt, peanut butter, fish, YOP, etc).:001_rolleyes: Delicious, I know lol my family had pizza tonight while I ate my tiny thimble of mushed up egg.
  12. I was sleeved 4 days after you and I am having a similar problem. I was told to eat in 30 minutes, because if you take longer you'll just end up eating more. I get the oh I'm full feeling very quickly maybe 5 or 6 minutes into a meal. I know what you mean about suddenly being full, I think we're just on a learning curve right now.
  13. I've been living on wonton soup-- I just chew until there s nothing left, I pretty much can handle 1 dumpling and maybe 1/2 cup of broth, its delicious!
  14. Hey Feb 1st sleever here too! My surgeon has us on a much more accelerated schedule, starting this week I was allowed poached fish, mashed potatoes, steamed veggies, crackers, toast, etc. I am handling it all pretty well- I'm not very hungry yet but do schedule meals, also hate hate hate all Protein powder/drinks/ etc so am trying desperately to get my protein in through food. Mostly relying on yogurt, YOP drinks, eggs, fish---- This is hard, don't kid yourself I'm having the same regrets when I go past fast food places, but we'll get there and eventually maybe even be able to have a treat sometime in the distant future :001_rolleyes:

Let's get this singles forum going!

I'm all for a singles forum!!! I would love to exchange froggy dating stories or hopefully successful ones like Chancie! I have dated online for 3 years met some keepers but like you Daisy, they petered out. I'm just heading into this journey so it's pretty much taken over my life in terms of focus outside work and school but hopefully when things settle down I'll get back into the dating world again.
