Thanks everyone.

I was banded on Aug 11th with the Realize band. It holds 11cc. I have had two fills for a total of 6.5ccs. No restriction yet...just depending on my own will power. So far, so good.

I really needs some help
LollyMoe replied to fishy09's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck with whatever you decide. It's your body. -
Please let us know what your doctor or the ER says. This is very serious sounding and should not be left to chance.

Question about Damage from SOda?
LollyMoe replied to itsalmosttime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was such a Dt Dr Pepper addict that if I drank even one sip, I would be addicted again. My doctor says it's a NO-No for the rest of my band life. -
Dr. told me I'd only lose 50% of my excess
LollyMoe replied to Nonoma's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor said to lose 1-2 pounds per week and I would be okay. He said it would take a little longer (2 yrs) but was much safer. He wants me to weight about 135 but I want about 150. We'll see what I am when I get there! -
I only had three days of a liquid pre-op diet. It wasn't bad at all. Good luck getting thru the holidays.

Sugar Free Yogurt? Does it exist?
LollyMoe replied to Michelle1972's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My nutritionist said I could eat Yoplait Light Fat Free yogurt. I love the Very vanilla flavor. Blueberry is good too. Ask your doctor what he recommends. -
Sorry to hear that you are having problems. I wish the band was a magic wand but we both know it isn't one. It's a tool to help you but you have to help it too. You can't sit around eating candy and expect to lose weight. I know it's hard when children are sick and working second shift isn't much easier but you have to take the steps to take care of yourself first and foremost if you want to continue to lose. Having said all of that, I know that you can do it. Just jerk yourself up and start again. Put the past behind you and look to the future....a slimmer you. Now, get busy and do it. Do it for yourself.

when will I feel differently about me?
LollyMoe replied to rachnett's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I look in the mirror and still see the fat (b/c I am still fat), however, I do feel better, have more energy, and love the fact that my clothes are really getting sloppy on me from being too loose. I think as my health improves I will feel better about myself. I tell myself everyday that I am worthy of this band and then I do everything I can to help it help me. Hang in there. It should get better. Keep giving yourself some pep talks. You deserve them. You will gain a lot more confidence with positive statements than negative ones. -
I purchased a case of 20oz bottled water. I drink three each day. I use crystal lite to help give it some flavor. This method helped me because it was the easier way to calculate how much I would drink each day. Between times, I might drink some decaf SF tea or 1% milk.

Mad at nutritionist or myself???
LollyMoe replied to TracyNYC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My nutritionist said to keep it to 1000-1200 cal per day. Drink my Water of course. However, she did say that I could have a mini snack between meals if needed. She recommended Wheat Thins. I like the Tomato/Basil ones but have to be careful with the amounts. They are addictive. No more than 2 oz. She also said I could eat 1 apple per day (peeled). It's good Fiber. She wants me to get in 60 gms of Protein per day; not more than 15 gms of carbs or 5 gms of fat per serving. As far as drinking with meals, she would rather I wait at least 30 min after eating BUT if necessary, I could take 2-3 small sips of liquid with meals as long as I don't gulp. I seem to be doing okay so far but still need more fills. I'm going next week for my third one and hope it will give me more restriction. -
Had good restriction but now it's gone!

debby07: Some doctors will put a little fill in at the time of surgery and maybe that is what your doctor did. Ask him. -
All I do is walk is this enouph?
LollyMoe replied to marmar's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Walking is considered the best exercise you can do. Therefore, you are right on track. Just increase your distance and speed. About four miles a day should bring you about 3 pounds a week lost if you are eating what you are suppose too. Don't forget to drink your water too! -
I tried 3-5 chips and didn't have problem with them but I felt so quilty that they weren't worth it. No chips for me.
-
I did Miralax and it didn't do a thing for me. I only did the injections while in the hospital (24 hours).
-
Nope...my doctor said NOT EVER AGAIN. So I gave it up and I don't think about it. I'm not doing anything that might mess up my band. It is too special to me.
-
I'm not salt sensitive but my body doesn't like cheese too much yet. I miss it too. If I eat fast or don't chew well, I'm in trouble. The pain is terrible. Slow down, chew, & take smaller bites.

So happy to be overweight
LollyMoe replied to mominkansas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats on moving down the ladder to a slimmer you. Now, you need to start thinking of yourself as a new slim person. -
what's up with gaining?!
LollyMoe replied to fransbeenbanded's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tell your hubby that this the lap-band not gastric bypass. You are suppose to lose 1-2 pounds a week and you're doing great. He needs to keep the negative comments away from you so you can stay positive. You might try to write in a journal exactly what you are eating each day. It might show you a weak area that you could improve. Drink your Water, exercise, and don't worry about the gain. It will turn around again. -
please help :( stool softener, will it stick?
LollyMoe replied to Tranquility's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take the Dulcolax from Walmart every night. No problem. I do take it alone with water and then take my other pills. It works well for me too. -
Christmas Weightloss Challenge
LollyMoe replied to Fluffy Jen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I want in too. I want to have lost a total of 50 pounds by Christmas. That's 12 pounds which is okay by me since I am such a slow loser now. -
Okay people, what's with losing a shoe size?
LollyMoe replied to tanqueray's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As a young adult, I wore a size 7. Through the years of weight gains, I moved up to a size 8 1/2 and was fast headed for a size 9. Now my shoes are getting loose, so I guess I'll be down sizing soon. I look forward to a size 7 again. So, in answer to your question, your shoe size does change. -
Wonderful news! Atta girl.....you rock.

Messed up big time today so freaked out
LollyMoe replied to lilmissy2009's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try to remember WHY you had the band in the first place. You also need to figure out WHY you cheated. Is food so important to you that you are willing to wreak this whole process from the very beginning? There are a lot of questions you should be asking yourself and then you can take action on what to do about it all. It's a hard journey...but one you can do if you work at it. I know you want too....so get busy and don't let food get in your way.
