Exciting news I just have to share
LollyMoe replied to Mrs.Deering's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great news! What fun you must be having. I'll bet you're smiling to yourself. I haven't worn a size 14 since I married 50 years ago. I can't even imagine getting to that size. I am just hoping I can get out of the Plus size stores. -
what happens when ur band is completely filled??
LollyMoe replied to dowhatitdo1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor told that in the 8 tens he has been doing this type of surgery, he has never had someone completely filled. -
Anyone lost a lot of weight and had no excess skin?
LollyMoe replied to nervous_newbie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I met a lady in my doctor's office when I went to get a fill yesterday. She is very petite and has lost 187 pounds. I ask her if she had had any surgeries and she said no. She sure looks good! Of course she is younger than I and I think that makes a huge difference. -
Do you measure or weigh your foods? I did years ago when I was on WW but haven't done it yet. So far, I just eyeball everything. I am wondering if eyeballing is okay or do I need to get a food scale?

Just filled today and vomiting protein shake!
LollyMoe replied to lapband 8-26-09's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got my 4th fill today and was told that IF I couldn't get my coffee down in the morning, I was to come straight to the doctor's office. We'll see in the morning. -
Good for you! I had my fourth fill today. I have 7.5ccs in my band but still not feeling any restriction. I was told not to worry about it. I might feel some in a day or two. Right now I am working on my own will-power.

lapband and a cpap machine
LollyMoe replied to Tilling's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on Aug 11,2009 and have lost 62 pounds now. I am no longer on my Cpap machine at all. I took myself off of it since my pulmonary physician said I could do just as well on a wedge pillow or two pillows. My sleep apnea is very very mild and I was put on the machine just to satisfy insurance for the surgery. I am doing fine. As for losing the weight, it's b/c I follow the rules so strictly. Protein, protein, protein, and my Water. It's my two main ingredients of weight loss. I don't do any exercise to speak of yet. Just every once in awhile. I am happy with my results and don't want to lose any faster than I am doing now. -
Yep, sounds like you're in bandster's hell. Stay strong and it will pass as you get your fills. Don't expect too much for the first fill. I couldn't tell I even had mine.

Sleepless Nights...Need Advice
LollyMoe replied to realtruelady's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I slept in my recliner for two weeks! Not b/c of the pain but b/c I got a respiratory virus two days post-op. I loved my chair but eventually went back to the bed and it was okay. If you were in the hospital, the nurses would have you on your side with pillows supporting your abdomen. -
I am 4 months out and have lost 60 pounds. I have no restriction and am doing it on my own. I've done this before, so that's no great accomlishment for me. However, I know that I will soon need some restriction or the weight will start creeping back up. It's hard to maintain strict control all on your own. During this time of the year, I have to work very hard to keep the depression away. I lost my oldest son during this time and then I lost another one in March. Altho, it has been years since I lost them, every so often, the depression will hit with a vengence again to the point that it feels like it just happened. The holidays are somewhat depressing anyway and we often "feed" our depression with food/goodies. It's a time to work harder, find ways to defeat the need to eat and stand strong. Hang in there, try to eat lots of protein during this time, write in your journal, take walks, or do whatever you do to keep on track. It will be over soon and you can get back in the groove. Good luck. I'm off to change my ticker.

New here and created an album
LollyMoe replied to nocticula's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There's a place under your "story" for before/after pictures. -
Erin18: Sweetie, you are very young still and I know it's hard for you to stick to a plan of action when you want to be out and about with friends & eating what you want too. However, it's time to get with the program again. You can do it and you know you can. It's all a matter of discipline. You may be feeling down or lazy b/c you're not getting enough protein. Protein will give you the energy you need to help movitate you. So make a plan of action and force yourself to follow it, no matter what. Don't defeat yourself....you deserve to be thinner and you can be if you will practice self control.

elcee: Make sure you take a tiny spoon with you. That way, you can taste your mom's wonderful foods w/o going crazy over them. It worked for me at T'giving!

First, you need something for the nausea. Call your doctor. Second, do not drink the seven-7. Third, Try to get as much rest as you can. Fourth, see if you can sip the liquid from Chicken/Noodle soup. Fifth, try to sip some warm tea also. Not coffee.Sisth, you may need some liquid antibotics or a nice shot. Keep us informed. Hope you're better soon.

I am so lost and overwhelmed!
LollyMoe replied to mom2cjpx4's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You shouldn't be picking up anything right now. You are in the healing process. I don't why you can't eat plain jello....my nut has it on my list. Walking is the best thing you can do for the gas pains. Walk room to room in your house if you can't get out. Intake should be your water, protein shakes, and whatever your nut suggests. -
Per my nut's recommendation, I eat FIBER ONE (Raisen/Clusters).

Before and after Food Budgets
LollyMoe replied to AprilShowers2010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think I'm spending about the same since we're not eating out as often. However, each time I buy groceries, it seems that it costs more for the same old stuff I usually buy. I am now trying to learn the coupon system and shopping at less expensive stores. We have a grocer that is cheaper but you bring your own bags, pay a quarter for a cart, bag your own items and take to your car yourself. I don't mind all of this at all if I can save some money. -
Snack do you eat one each day? If so What?
LollyMoe replied to dyer530's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My nut told me to eat a peeled apple a day as it aids in fiber. Also, WHeat Thins. Just make sure to measure out a portion of them. The tomato/basil ones are great. -
can I drink sugar-free cocoa
LollyMoe replied to alibra02155's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My nut said to use Swiss Miss Sugar Free. I drink it all the time. -
Joyce13: I am sorry that your mom isn't very supportive. Have you tried to educate her on what the lapband is all about? Take her to a support group with you. Kuurtamo: Explain to hubby that you would rather have a good relaxing massage than cookie dough.

Thanks for the site. I'm off to look into it now. -
anyone else have this?
LollyMoe replied to thinkoflaura's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only wish I had trouble burping! I sound like a lumberjack drinking/belching beer, most of the time. My burps are loud and mostly unexpected when they come. It's not fun when you're in a store and out comes this giant sound. If I just had a warning, it wouldn't be so bad. -
We had a body slcupturing (sp?) doctor come to our group last month. He explained that quite often you have to have a lift and you can also do implants at the same time. I'm more worried about my belly hanging down to my knees!

Went to the Urgent Care for Tonsillitis and....
LollyMoe replied to jenrobbar951's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ask your doctor to request liquid form on the precription if it's available. That simple. Oh, don't back to the Urgent Care...find another one if possible, Hope your throat is better now.
