Hey Guys, my bandiversary was yesterday. I can't believe it has already been a year. If you told me a year ago I would be down 6-7 sizes and 107 pounds I would have fainted. If feels unreal. Officially I have lost 82 pounds since surgery, I have 35 more I want to lose. It's crazy though because I am more critical of myself than I was before, if that's possible. I am still a fat person stuck inside what people call a skinny body (which makes me angry when they say that because I don't feel skinny yet.) I think I need counseling lol. Does anyone else have the problem with still thinking they are big? I am still very proud of myself and I know I have made huge progress, but when I was big I thought that if I got down to a size 14 I would be happy with my body. I am currently I size 10-12 and still critiquing myself. I know its crazy but I can not help it. Anyway the original idea for this post was to see how everyone else progress was going, how much has everyone lost? What goals have you met?

I think it's perfectly normal and very frustrating. You should be happy you lost the 2 pounds you did. Average weightloss is only 1-2 pounds a week anyway. Slow weightloss is healthier and there is less extra skin afterwards. I know it is upsetting but your body takes a while to get used to the band and your first month you might not lose as much b/c you are eating very few calories and your body goes into a starvation mode. Keep positive, I only lost 1lb a week for the 1st month. I am down 100lbs total now, 75 since surgery in september. Time flies you will get there in no time.

Things I can do since my lap band...
aimeenichole replied to Brighton Belle's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
This is a strange accomplishment but one I have always wanted to be able to do. I can actually wear thigh highs without them folding down and coming off b/c my thighs are too big. I have never been able to do this. I have lost a TON of inches off my thighs. It's so exciting! -
I have lost 53 pounds since surgery. I have lost a total of 77 pounds all together. I am starting to slow down on the weight loss, but I have also been cheating more than in the beginning. I work out everyday and I have notice if I eat a higher calorie breakfast and a lower calorie dinner I lose faster. I can't wait to get under 200lbs, 18 more pounds to go! I haven't been under 200 since birth lol. It is so exciting! I'm trying to figure out how to reward myself, eating out just isn't as fun anymore. You guys are doing great, keep up the good work.

I was eating barely anything right after surgery and up until my fill. It has been 3.5 weeks since my 5 cc fill. The past couple of days I have been able to eat ALOT more. Last night for dinner I ate 5oz chicken, a half cup of green Beans and a cup of salad. I can control Breakfast and lunch, but by dinner I am starving. I am working out everyday but have been on a plateau. I'm staying around 1000-1200 calories a day. Do you think I should schedule another fill? I've only lost 17 lbs since my Sept 1st surgery.

Cereal is my favorite food ever! With so much of us that LOVE cereal I'm starting to wonder if there is a link from cereal and obesity haha.

Have any of you cheated on your mushy stage? I wasn't hungry at all until I started my mushy stage in fact I thought I wouldn't ever be hungry again hahah. A couple days after I started the mushy stage I got hungry for things not on the diet. Not double cheeseburgers, but rice crispies cereal. I reasoned with myself that this was one bowl of cereal and it was mushy and as long as I chewed each bite 40 times I would be ok. It went done great and I felt fine. I have cheated a little by eating some veggies( which my doctors says hold off until next week). I also made low cal/ low fat chicken enchilada casserole and I ate that which I know that's REALLY bad, I chewed it very thoroughly and had no problems though. I guess my question is have you cheated on the mushy stage and did you have any adverse reactions from it, or did your doctor yell at you about it. I go to my 2 week check up tomorrow and I'm afraid to tell the nutritionist what I've eaten. I have stayed under 850 calories a day and gotten 70-100 grams of protein a day. Am I freaking out for nothing?

I have told you what I believe. You never explained what you believed only called me narrow minded for believing the way I do. Do you believe in heaven and hell? You obviously believe in God. If you do believe in Heaven and Hell who is going to each of these places? Have you read the original Hebrew and Greek(very few have this ability are you one of them.) If you are trying to "help" me please tell me how God has inspired you to tell me the Bible, his word is wrong. I will listen. I am not narrow minded, I believe everyone has the right to their opinion. But if you do not tell me your opinion how can I access that I am so wrong? Please enlighten me. And please elaborate on how I who am also a loving, caring sweet person who does believe in the Lord. Who volunteers to help the elderly, sick, and homeless is not going to be worthy of God's literal presence as you say. Just b/c I believe you have to accept Christ into your heart like the bible says? How does that make sense? Are you Mormon or Jehovah Witness, or is there another group I do not know about? I am not ignorant to the doctrines of this world please don't act like I would be "baffled" to know someone believes differently than me about the bible. Please just answer my questions about what you believe so I can know if I am wrong. I will give your thoughts a shot, I have no problem with that.

Christians should be all of these things you have mentioned. But there are a LOT of people out there who love are caring, sweet, non-judgemental and bighearted and they are still going to hell whether they like it or not. Unless you gave accepted Jesus as your savior you will be going to hell. Hell is real, people who want to do works instead of follow the word like to believe hell may not be real, but it is. These people think they will get into heaven by being sweet, this is not true. The only way to come to the Father is through the son. No Christ no heaven. As Christians we should be telling the people the truth about Hell and Heaven and not preaching if your nice you will get into Heaven and not go to Hell. I do agree with you on one point you should not attack other Christians with the bible, but are you sure you are being attacked? Maybe you are misconstruing the words intended to be helpful to you.

Thanks for that, it was exactly what I was thinking.

I believe whatever hell is I don't want to go there. Whether it be burning or just being tortured forever. I don't have anything that would make me not believe this. Why do I believe it? Because I believe the bible is the word of God given to man to be written for us to know the truth. It's ok for people to think I'm crazy to believe in a book written that long ago, and for me to believe that there is a God who created all of us. Yet I doubt it's any more crazy than the belief that some big bang happened millions of years ago to some cells (who made the cells and the bang, how did they exist with nothing there to begin with) and that this created life. I think everyone is entitled to there opinion. Don't believe in hell that's fine, but it would really be a rude awakening if you were to find out that it is true. I'm not saying that you do or do not believe in hell, just speaking in general.

8 days post op not getting in enough calories
aimeenichole replied to aimeenichole's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No that's not the problem for sure. I got 100 grams of protein in yesterday and only 640 calories. I just don't know how you are supposed to get in all the liquids you need to drink in a day without drinking the protein shakes. So I have been doing half shakes/half mushies. I don't really know why everyone seems to have a hard time getting their protein in. I am having a hard time figuring how you get everything else in (fat, carbs, water.) Thanks for the comment. -

Have you tried unjury brand Protein shakes? They are the only ones I can get down. Tastes like chocolate milk.
