hey, Just looked at your pics... You look fantastic. I wanted to ask you about beer?? Can you drink it? I noticed some pics that you have posted you have a beer in your hand. I have been so scared to even try it. But i miss it soo much. Not saying I am going to go hog wild... Just wondering how your making that work?

I am glad that you are doing well. Just wear elastic pants for a while until your tummy heals. Try eating creamy potato soups and chew the potato really good, gives you a sense that you actually ate something filling!
This is the hardest part. In a few short weeks, you will be able to eat some mushies, and that helps so much.
I have some good recipes for you once your ready for the regular food phase.

PAPAYA ENZYMES..Walmart by the vitamins, they are for digestive health. It helps in the breaking down of food. They seem to help.
Feeling stuck SUCKS! It feels like your esophugus just closes up, but with food lodged in there, sometimes it wont come up or go down for quit a while! Eventullay it does come (up or down) but it hurts and it sucks really bad! It is hard to really put into words.
I was able to eat bread (very little) and tortillas up until my 3rd fill. Now... There is no way!

Go to wal mart and buy some 1cup ziplock bowls. Put everything you eat in those, whatever it is. Try to stick to that size.
When you to the reg phase of food, do 4 oz of meat (always eat your protein 1st) then a 1/2 cup of whatever else. Green veggies is your best choice.

Make sure you have some Gas-X Strips on hand for the "trapped gas" Take like 3 to 4 of those, otherwise they dont work. Try and get up and walk as much as possible, it really helps get things moving. LOL
Dont try and lay down flat when you get home, prop your self up in a recliner or on the couch, with pillows.
Get some Papaya Enzymes, for when you start reg. food. They help when you get stuck.
Take before photos (front, back, side) and have someone help with your measurments, so you keep track of your progress.

My pain after the surgery wasn't bad really...What sucked was the pain from the "trapped gas" That lasted about 10days or so. It happens becasue they blow your stomach up before surgery so they can see for the surgery. The gas eventually works its way out.. (ha ha) You just have to get up and walk, and take gas-x strips.
I went back to work 1 week later, and yes I worked during the Liquid phase, but it wasnt hard, because I was eating creamy soups, jello, pudding, popsicles. Its not like your stuck with broth. :-)
Hope this helps!

Hey there... I never saw this message until now..because you posted it on your page and not mine.. (its okay) I just wanted to apologize for not getting back to you sooner. By the way thanks for the pic comment. :-) I feel so good!
Doc.. Juarez phn number is 602-252-1510. Just call them and find out out when you can attend a seminar since that is your first step.
Doc Juarez's bed side manner is not the greatest. He is however open to any questions..or concerns. I honestly saw him 3 times only. At my pre-op appt, we discussed me having the surgery, he answered my questions, gave me advice, and told me I would be a good candidate for this surgery. Next time was in the hospital right before surgery. 3rd time, at my post op appt. Thats it!
Honestly, my relationship is more with the nurse and M/A at the office. Nurse Andrea, does all your fills, and the M/A schedules appts. They are both really awesome!
