My story is one that began years ago when I was only 15 and full of life, yet each step along my journey brought me to where I am today.  I found myself at the age of 33 yearning for a change I had waited for years for this surgery and by the time my surgery day arrived it was almost a miracle. I first signed up for the surgery 6 years ago  I was set to change my life then after years of Infertility it works and I find I am pregnant@! I cancel my Lap-band plans and turn to motherhood only to see those hopes fall to the wind. I lost the baby a couple months later and spent the next year recovering. The next summer as I once again looked into the thought of a life without the shell that surrounded me . I was once again thrown into the fight of my life, when I found out I have cervical and uterine cancer and had to at the age of 28 undergo a hysterectomy. The month after my diagnosis my b.f of 10 years I find involved in an affair so I kick him to the curb while undergoing treatment..lol..  I spent the next year recovering and enjoying my new found love for life and how short it is. I then lost 110lbs all on my own to only gain it back over the next  three years.. The joy of yo-yoing.....  The year I spent recovering my brother returned from Iraq wounded and sadly addicted to pain killers . It ended his life on July 4, 2005 it seems that my life would remain on the merry-go-round  affect for the next several years. I did however find the courage and strength  on March 8th 2009 I laid down on that table at 477lbs and because of that almost lost my life. It seems when you are that heavy and have no neck being intubated can be a problem... I did manage to after 4 anesthesiologist and getting the air pumped out of my stomach get my band placed . I have since then lost 55lb. I haven't weighed in a month but go for a fill Thursday and to check my progress.... Check back with me friday for a new update..
