August 28, 2009 Band date!!

Aug. 28th is my date as well. Starting to get a little nervous. I've even been telling myself I shouldn't do it because I will not be able to pigg out like I'm used to doing. But I have waited about a year to get approved and I'll not going to let anything make me lose focus. I am 5 days into my liquid diet. I was placed on a 7 day liquid diet. I would say, after about 3 days, I no longer had any cravings or hunger. I have been totally faithful to my diet and I'm too far to turn back now. Good luck everyone, we are experiencing a life changing event together. For me, no more roller coaster weight loss. Overweight will be Gone once and for all. -
Thanks, how long ago were you banded? And can you tell me about some of your experiences since your surgery date. Thanks for responding, and I'm glad to hear you were pleased with our doctor. Please keep in touch.

Hello, I'm to be banded August 28th. My pre-op diet consist of a clear liquid diet for 7 days, I begin on August 21. I'm trying to hit all my favorite spots because I know, It'll never be the same (eating). I'm excited and nervous. Two of my friend have been banded. One was 3 years ago, and the other was 2 years ago. They both explained to me that its a total lifestyle change, and explained it was a little depressing at first. Wanting to pig out on your favorite foods like they used to, and not being able to eat much. They said you should find you a hobby, or something to do to keep you busy. Both of my friends, firmly say they have no regrets and that the benefits far out way the negatives. Which they describe as merely an adaption. And look me add they both look gorgeous! Congrats. Dr. Wagner is the best and yu will be very pleased. If you have any questions or anything dont hesitate to ask.

Hey, I'm new to this site and I am to be banded August 28th. I was wondering if there was any advise or recommendations, any of you experienced banders could provide me. Is there anything I should do to better prepare myself for surgery?
