I had a blast in Puerto Rico, but I am glad to be back. I managed to lose 1 pound while I was on vacation. I really don't know how that happened. I did take advantage of the hotel's fitness center. I'm not a fan of treadmills, but I did 30min. on the treadmill each morning I was there. I found it very hard to stick to lapband rules. I didn't eat a whole lot, it was just the wrong kinds a food plus a lot of drinking. I had my VERY FIRST PB on chips and salsa and a Mojito. I know, I know I should not have been drinking while eating. I have learned my lesson because the drinking made it worse. I did not experience the excrutiating pain that others describe. I felt fullness in my chest and began to feel nauseated, then I started sweating and UH OH!!!! Anyways, I've really missed you guys! I have a lot of posts to read, but I hope everyone is doing well.

To check on my fellow Marchies. Nothing spectacular going on with me and that's probably a good thing...lol! I cancelled my Dr.s appt. on June 4th, mostly because I didn't have anyone to watch my kids, and partly because I still have good restriction and don't need another fill right now. I am trying to get in to see him on the 18th. My best friend just asked me a few days ago if I wanted to go to Puerto Rico with her. She's traveling there on business and told me all I would have to buy is my plane ticket...she didn't have to ask me twice, I booked my plane ticket that same day! I still had that credit from my cancelled Las Vegas trip so it came in handy! We leave on Tuesday and will be back on Sunday...very last minute, but I am looking forward to it! Enjoy your weekend everyone!!!!

I hope you have some good restriction. How much fill did you get and what size band do you have?

I'm thinking about having some boob work done. They are getting smaller as I lose weight. I was a 42DD now I'm a 38D, but they are getting flat and flabby so I'm thinking about having them lifted later on. The lower tummy is a problem area for me and it's been there for as long as I can remember. I've never had a flat tummy. About 10 years ago I had gotten down to 190lbs after doing Jenny Craig and I still had the kangaroo pouch so I may just have to cut it off when I get to my goal weight!

I try to do at least 50-60 grams of protein a day.

Why R U Running To Get A Fill
tammyj replied to kadrianmatthews's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You shouldn't even have the surgery unless you're pretty sure that you CAN'T do it on your own. -
Have a Nice Day Marchies!!!

I hope everyone is off to a great start for their June Challenges. Sunday is usually my rest day, but since I didn't exercise yesterday I did my 3 mile walk/jog this morning. Sometimes it's a challenge to get started, but once I put my music on and get going I get this adrenaline rush and it feels so good!!! Welcome Gina!!! We are band sisters! I was banded on the 15th as well!!! When does eating right become automatic??? Juli, if and when that ever happens will be a miracle. Good restriction helps with the amount of food we can eat, but eating right will always be a struggle for me. I don't like to cook and I'm a junk food junkie. Right now, I am staying in control and I'm very proud of that. As the weather gets warmer there is not a day that goes by that I don't crave a nice thick strawberry shake. Saying "NO" is definitely not automatic and probably never will be. I applaud you for eating just sushi and green beans! :clap2: You made good choices and that is half the battle. Yeah, you probably ate more than you should have, but once you get a fill and get some restriction that problem will be solved too. For someone with no restriction, I think you're doing GREAT!!!

No, you certainly did not. The thread belongs to no one and anyone can start it. I am glad you started it to switch things up a little! Variety is the spice of life...lol!!! :biggrin1:

How is everyone doing? WOW...May is almost over and summertime is fast approaching. Juli, I will get our June thread started, but I haven't really thought about challenges. Exercise is pretty much standard. Everyone should challenge themselves a little further than they did this month. I was doing 30min exercise sessions, but I will bump it up to 40min next month. I struggled with the crunches this month and didn't meet my goal, but I will not give up so I will be doing the crunch challenge again. I think everyone doing their own personal challenge is better. Ask yourself...What am I struggling with? It could be Protein intake, Water intake, jogging, running, weight training, etc. Whatever challenge you choose, be sure to put it in your signature so we all can follow along. I think most of us like the name Marchies so I guess we'll stick with Marchies in June, but if anyone has any other creative thread titles to share, please do! MARCHIES ROCK!!!!!

Well I haven't really lost any weight in the past couple weeks. Still 27lbs down and stuck at 252lbs! :bored I had my first fill 2 weeks ago and I do feel some restriction, but I am still able to eat quite a bit. I started counting calories last week to try to get this scale to move. I've been staying under 1000cal/day so I'm hoping that helps. I haven't weighed myself since Tuesday, but I will when I go to the hospital tomorrow for my 2nd fill. I absolutely hate counting calories so I'm hoping with proper restriction I won't have to. We'll see if the second fill will get me there! I have less than 2 weeks left for Las Vegas and was hoping to lose 13lbs by then. Doesn't look like that's gonna happen so I'll take ANY loss at this point. On a positive note, I've been working out everyday and my body is definitely changing so I feel good about that!!!

I received 1.5cc at my first fill. Some of my surgeons patients receive anywhere from 1cc to 2cc the first time. He has no set amount to give...he gives you what you can tolerate.

WAY TO GO ROSI!!!! It feels so good to see those number changing!!! I am looking forward to the BBQ's this weekend. I know potato salad doesn't go along with band rules, but I can't wait to have some (a little won't hurt) and I have my low cal BBQ sauce all ready!!! :hungry:

I have gotten so bored with food lately that I switched back to liquids yesterday. It was either that or have a feast on any and everything! I just got soooo tired of trying to figure out what to eat! Meat, veggies, meat, veggies....UGGGGHHHHH!!!!! I don't do alot of cooking anymore...What for??? So, I can enjoy a 1/2 cup of it?!?! My kids aren't big eaters so most of it is wasted and ends up in the garbage. It is so hard trying to fix meals that go along with the band rules without boring the family so I just don't anymore! What kinds of meals are you guys preparing??? :help:

Congrats ThickChick!!! You should be very proud! I hope you are feeling better soon. Treat yourself this weekend...do a little pampering or buy yourself something you've been wanting. You deserve it and it may help you feel a little better.
-
Laralynn!!!!!! It's good hearing from you! You are doing AWESOME!!! Congrats on the weight loss! Now, that you have good restriction and going to the gym I'll be eating your dust and trying to play catch up soon.
-
Sophie, I know what you mean! I am deathly afraid of being too tight! From what I understand, you haven't had much restriction the last 2 weeks except this past weekend which means it's probably something other than your fill amount that caused the sudden restriction. Stress, exercise, TOM, drinking too much alcohol (at least for me it did) can cause you to feel too tight. If you feel that most days you are eating more than you should then it maybe time for another fill. 13lbs by mid August is very attainable...I'll be rooting for ya!!! :cheer2:
-
I weighed in at the gym this morning and the scale read 239lbs!!!! The 270's, 260's, 250's, and 240's are gone 4EVAAAA!!! I am half-way to ONE-DER-LAND...40 more pounds to go!!!
-
I weighed in at the gym this morning and it ready 239lbs!!!! The 270's, 260's, 250's, and 240's are gone for good. Now I can officially say that "I'VE LOST 40 POUNDS!!!" Instead of "almost" 40lbs! :woot: Denise, I hope you enjoyed your birthday!!! :happybday: Outdoorfriends, I hope have a fast recovery! Try some sit down exercises with weights and some side bends at your waist. It may not burn as many calories, but you'll have some kick ass arms and shoulders by the time you're done! :boxing: Kyethra, you seem to be having one problem after another. I don't know how you function. You're a strong girl! I hope things get better for you soon! Hazelbunny, You are doing AWESOME!!! :grouphug: lala3000, I don't know what's wrong with me girl! This is the second week that I haven't made it to the hospital. I have been running around in circles lately. I really need to get myself together. Biking from 63rd to Navy Pier is a GREAT NSV! WAY TO GO!!! CuddlyNymph, The restriction felt after fill #1 has alot to do with your band size and how aggressive your surgeon is with fills. Those with the larger band may need several fills, but if you have the smaller band like me it usually only takes one or two fills. I felt some restriction with my first fill of 1.5cc and 2 weeks later I went for my second fill of 2.25cc. I have good restriction now. I have another appt. on June 4th so we'll see...if I keep this same restriction I will tell my surgeon that I don't want another fill. So, If you have good restriction and you are loosing weight, you may want to postpone having another fill. Happy HumpDay!!!!!

BIG HUGS ThickChick!!! I've been going through something lately as well. No really crying, but just not wanting to do much of anything. With the weight loss I would think I'd want to run out and show the world, but I have been feeling real BLAH lately. Our bodies are going through alot of dramatic changes and maybe it's to be expected, but I know it will get better. Hang in there hun! Juli, the jogging is a challenge for me. It's much easier if I have someone telling me to get moving! I'm hoping it doesn't totally get rid of my butt...I like a little cushion...LOL! Wallygirl, you're welcome to hang around here, but if you're looking for other February bandsters use this link http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f17/february-2007-bandsters-27241/

After not being able to eat anything on Sunday, I could not stop munching yesterday. It seems my body was trying to play catch up 'cause I felt out of control. I hope today will be better! Welcome Back AfrykanV and thanks for the compliment! We've missed ya! How you doing ThickChick...haven't heard from you in awhile! Lala3000, how you doing girl! I am ready to jog tonight. I've tried to do it on my own, but it's just not the same without you! Denise, Water aerobics sounds great! I will be starting a class in a couple weeks. My son is taking swimming lessons and the park district offers a water aerobics class for parents during the same time. I can't wait to start! Hello to everyone else!!! I hope you all have a wonderful day!!!
