Thanks Scarlett! The pictures are horrible, but it motivates me to make some changes. Nude pictures (for myself of course) are a good idea. I think I will do that too.

You know, I'm not quite sure about the nail polish. I've had 2 previous minor surgeries and I was never told not to wear it. I was told the usual, no jewelry, no contacts, etc., but never nail polish so I think it would be okay. Of course, it wouldn't hurt to ask. The nail bed may be one of those places they check for blood flow so you never know.

Thanks you so much!!! I'm not for sure, but I think the protein nectar and Isopure do not have any whey or milk in them. The are fruity drinks and you may be able to find them at a vitamin store, if not you may be able to order some online. I think most people do well with the band. Yes, problems can occur, but compared to the overall number of people that are banded there's only a small percentage of people who have complications. I go to the complications thread on this forum quite often and sometimes the activity on that thread can get very slow...sometimes days will go by before a new problem is posted. Right now, I'm seeing maybe 3 or 4 posts a day and some are not even real complications, but questions about after surgery pains or questions about food. Of course, that's just on this forum, but compare that to the number of people on this forum that are actually banded and it's not that many. I used to shy away from that thread because I read some things on there that scared the heck out of me and actually caused me to change my mind about being banded (I could have been banded back in October). Now, it doesn't bother me...I'm ready to be banded! Yes, I have got to get my hair and nails done as well. I planned on getting my hair braided the week of surgery so I won't have to do anything to it, but I'd better get my nails done too. Have a Great Day Everyone and HAPPY BANDING DAY synicalchick! :biggrin1:

I don't like milk either, but if you don't mind the Slim Fast you may be okay with the powder too. I actually wasn't told to do anything right now. I don't have to start my pre-op diet until Thursday. Trust me, if I was hungry I would be eating like crazy. :biggrin1:

Slim Fast has never done much for me either. Are you using any protein powder? I am using Six Star Whey protein powder...I mix 2 scoops with 8oz of skim milk which gives me 49g of protein in each shake. More protein...more filling! I am not one to posess alot of will power so I have to believe the protein is really working. Yes you can do it...I KNOW YOU CAN!!! :thumb:

It may have been hard, but the good thing is YOU DID IT (well almost...:biggrin1: ) Three more days and you are there! Never heard of smart water, but if it is more filling than regular water I am going to get me some! Anything that will make the pre-op diet a little easier is worth trying.

That is so funny. I thought about asking my dr. if I can take phentermine to get me through the pre-op diet, but I was afraid he might think I'm a wimp. I'm glad I didn't ask. :paranoid Besides, I think we'll do fine without it. :thumb:

Thanks for clarifying that. I don't know what made you feel like you weren't welcome here. I wasn't aware that religion was an even an issue on this thread. We are March bandsters and I hope we can all be of support to each other next month when we are all banded.

I have to start full liquids this Thursday. I have been on a semi-liquid diet for the past 6 days and I am doing fairly well. The protein shakes keep me full for a long time. Let us know how you're doing! Knowing that others are going through it is motivation for me. Good Luck!

How did the subject of what religion everyone is get started??????? I really hope this thread does not go in that direction before March even gets here! I've seen conversations on other threads get started like this and it can get pretty ugly.

My prayers go out to you for a complication free surgery and a speedy recovery. I wish you all the best!

Me in 1995 @ 190lbs Size 16 (I don't want to get too much smaller than this. My goal is a size 12, but I may have to stop at a size 14. I'm almost 5'10" and I don't want to end up looking like a giraffe...LOL!) Me in 2004 @ 220lbs Size 20 (I had just lost about 40lbs and that was the first time I had put on a bathing suit in a long time...I still felt uncomfortable in it)
