I ALSO GOT MRSA IN MY WOUNDS AND THEY TOOK 6 WEEKS TO CLOSE UP. BUT NOW THATS ALL GONE AND REALLY I DONT THINK ABOUT THE BAD THINGS NO MORE AS THE GOOD THINGS FAR OUT WAY THE BAD.:cry

Alcohol goes down just gr8 for me no diffent to b4 the band, when i stopped drinking it made no difference to how much weight i lost.

YOU ARE TIGHT ENOUGH BY WHAT YOUR EXPLAINING THERES NO WAY THAT YOU NEED A FILL AT THIS POINT IT WILL MAKE MATTERS WORSE, SEE YOUR DOC ITS SOUNDS LIKE YOU MAY NEED A SLIGHT DE FILL IF ANY THING.

most surgeons go on the guide lines of between 55-60% of the excess weight to be lost !

macdonalds are a big no no for me they just get stuck and cause pain, there too high in fat any way so its defeating the object of the band all a bit point less that isnt it !

if you feel u can do it with out the band then do it, i thought i could but i could never keep the changes in my life style up and always ended up re gaining the weight i lost, plus more. thats why i made the decision to go 4 the band.

i was fine 6 months on and yes u can order smaller portions, i plan ahead and get a menu b4 i go out, i see what i can order from it, but u must choose care fully. i usually go for the mashed potaoes option with chicken or shephards pie, mushy stuff usually is fine, u should be ok if u dont order any thing silly.

susan hi ty 4 your reply, yes i will be giving up smoking with nicotine replacement theripy, so it should help alot !! cozzie hi, i got to wait so long for my tummy tuck as it will be done on the nhs im not self pay so i got to wait 3 months and be tested to see if i packed in smoking, the initial 18 weeks after that is the general guide lines for the waiting list but i will probably be done well b4 that, the t/t isnt normally done on the nhs, but its a follow up op as i had the band on the nhs also.

my son is 5 years old, i just told him the truth at every stage about what was happening or going to happen, he just took it in his stride and understands fully what the lap band is there for and why, he is also taking on board the aspect of healthy eating and why, and understands that i did not choose heathly options with food and this was a reason for getting my band. hes very understanding and accepts thats why i have changed so much in the last 18 months, some of my old pictures of me that i show him now he does not reconise me, but he laughs n says thats not my mummy lol. you woill be quite suprised on how much young children understand and except if you are truth full with them, i decided to be honest from the start as he is part of my family, and so i didnt have to lie to him about why i had to go in hospital, once u start lying it goes on and on, so that wasnt for me. be honest with your child and he will respect you and show you lots of love for that, good luck xxx

WHY HAS THE LAP BAND JOURNALS BEEN DEACTIVATED DOES ANY 1 KNOW ?

this is very common u have changed so much physically but your mind has not comprehended that yet, it takes time to ajust your thoughts and feelings to this is the new you forever, you will get used to this and acept that this is the new you, enjoy it this is what all us bander strive towards. it just takes alittle longer to get used to be the new us once we get there, u will be fine ! good luck from liz xxxx

:update: i met the plastic surgeon yesterday, and all went as well as i could expect, he wants me 2 return on the 8th january, and if im still maintaing my weight and packed up smoking he will do a apronectomy at the latset 18 weeks after the 8th of january, so im pleased with what he said, cigarettes have to go as from monday lol so i may be a bit grumpy next week, never mind it will all be worth it in the end. :)

We collect famous peoples autographs its fun to do, as we all do it as a family, they are worth cash and we put them all away and store them for our 5 year old son as they will be worth a lot more when hes an adult! its gr8 fun and its nice to meet these people too, our son gets his photograph taken with each person too so he will have happy memories of this when he grows up.
