I had my first visit with Dr Bonner 8/13/09. Very pleased with the visit, Dr Bonner and the staff. A little disappointed to find out that my insurance requires that I have 6 months of weight management appts. with my PCP before they will approve surgery (per Dr Bonner). Trust me, I have tried just about everything over many years before deciding on lap band! Anyway I have my first appt to see my PCP on 8/17/09. Hopefully I can speak with him about getting this moving a little faster, we always talk about diet and exercise on my visits to him so maybe those will count toward my 6 months.I have read the messages left under Dr Bonner's name and am glad to read about the great results. Like most of you I love food and depend on it when I am happy, sad, depressed etc. I guess the thing I am worried about the most is having to cut back on the joy of getting together with friends for great lunches and dinner (just the eating part not the friend part).I am ready to get this started and look forward to a healthier, more active life where I can play more with my grandsons and enjoy going on more adventures with them. The looking better part will be great too, but I want to be healthy!!I look forward to reading and hearing from any of you with advise and support and when it is "my time" I will be more than happy to be a supporter. I know this will be a long up hill journey, but I am ready!
