I also fluctuate about 5-10lbs depending on the TOM for me. I only use my weight first thing in the AM for my official weight keeping.

I am being banded on Sept 23rd!! I am feeing nervous too and have been trying to eat like I am banded...small portions..practicing chewing, drinking shakes for meals..etc... I think having support is so important and congrats on your surgery date :mad:

It seems like you have your head on straight and that you are doing your research! I have my surgery scheduled for the 23rd!!:sad: I have a picture like the one you describe. I have vowed to make it my before picture!! I also agree with 123crod about having a support system even if it is 1 person. I (my own personal decision) am only telling close friends and family. I am not telling people at my place of employment and I am not telling aquaintences or strangers. I have a VERY strong support system with my friends and family!! Good luck with your learning session and making the right decision for you!! :mad:

I am a side and stomach sleeper. I am having surgery on the 23rd. I was wondering how long it too before you were able to go back on your side or stomach? Did this come into play with port placement? Thanks

Thanks...from the sound of it it is not going to be too bad...a few day for side and a little longer for stomach!! I can handle that!!

Hi everyone! I am just checking in...it has been one h*ll of a week with my dad in ICU and all of my appointments on top of it. Today was the first time that I stressed about surgery. I went for my chest xray and then thought...oh my....this is real.... I am so happy and so proud of all of you guys that have had surgery so far this month! I can't wait until the 23rd!!! Will check back in soon!

Wow that was super fast...and you go for surgery in 2 days...Good luck and let us know how you do! I think the fast surgery date will not allow for any negative thoughts or second guesses!! So...today is oficially September 1st and we had a few from September 2009 go into surgery today....can't wait to hear how everyone made out!! So exciting!! I go today at 2:00 for my EKG, chest X-Ray, Physical and all other PCP stuff....blood work will be in about 10 days and then Surgery on the 23rd!! :frown:

Hi everyone! i am just checking in and will go back and read everything that I have missed! MY dad is doing better and is being moved from ICU to Cardiac Care and will be there for a few days. I am back home and had my visit with my nutritionist today. My Doc did not require a pre op diet, but she does (I thought I got away with it :biggrin: So 2 weeks of 3 protein shakes a day and 1 small meal of protein and veggies. I start this next Tuesday! I just wanted to say good luck to everyone being banded this week and that I can't wait to hear how everything is going!! YAY!!!

Goodmorning everyone... Yesterday was a tough day for me. My dad is in ICU and had congestive hear failure and a pulmonary embolism...scary stuff. I am normally a stress and emotional eater, but I did prettty good. I am proud of that because I am trying to change my habits! Well, off to the hospital again.

I am in the West Palm Beach area. I am having surgery at JFK medical in Lake Worth with Dr. Larson!! I am so excited and can't wait myself!! I am going to do the pre op diet even though not required! So glad we have this group to keep track of each other!! Michelle - Where are you in Florida?

Hi everyone! I am being banded in FL on September 23!! I am so excited to be sharing this journey with all of you! I have read this thread from page one! I am 35 years old and over 300lbs. Time to take this insanity into my own hands and make it work for good this time!! I am so ready!! I will be starting my preop diet soon although my Dr. doesn't MAKE you do one...he strongly recommends one. YAY for all of us!!! Robyn :thumbup:

I am required by the Dr's group to stay one night. I am self pay, but have to do what they say! I will be spending the night in the hospital on the 23rd of September.

I am having surgery with Dr. Larson in West Palm on September 23rd!! Yay! Anyone else have this date or close?
