Slowly over the past 15 years I've gone from a healthy 180 to as high as 250.  My cholesterol was through the roof at 299 and high blood pressure issues, plus sleeping problems.  I tried Atkins which helped me lose 50 pounds but my cholesterol went nuts.... and eventually I regained all the weight plus more.  Then I tried Smart for Life - the cookie diet, and that worked great bringing me down to 199 pounds. But as soon as I went on maintenance with their diet I slowly regained all the weight again - plus more.
Within the past several months I been experiencing heart palpitations which really frightened me.  Seems that was the result of the yoyo dieting and the stress I was putting on my body. I researched lapband surgery, read everything I could, watched various youtube clips detailing the operation and fills.... and decided this was the best route for me... to help me control my crazy appetite.
It was two weeks from my initial consultation with my surgeon to the actual surgery.  I am fours days post surgery and currently on the strict clear liquids... and doing pretty good so far.
