Hi Tina, I am flying tomorrow, so excited I cant go to sleep but I will get enough with the op..... The picture is called your Avatar and the ticker goes in where your signature box is.. Cant quite remember how to do it but I followed the step by step instructions at the front of the forum home page under stickies I think? Hope this helps, will keep you all updated when I get back, I have to stay Thurs Night in hotel for meeting and surgery at hospital on Friday. Friday Night in hospital, Sat back to hotel, Sat night in hotel and can fly home Sunday. Hopefully I will be sleeping most of the time, or walking the corridors getting rid of the wind!! Hi Both Just to let you know I am getting banded on Friday in Belgium with Dr Chris Bruyne and am travelling tomorrow and sooo excited!! Thank you for the tips and I hope all is going well for you Donna. I have slimfasts and clear cup of soup for afterwards when I get back home on Sunday, is this ok? Thanks x

Hi Tina, my surgeon (Belgium) didnt require a pre op liquid diet, just advised me to go on a low fat diet for two weeks before the op, so I am feeling very lucky. Travelling Thursday for op Friday morning, feel a bit more settled now and I am looking forward to getting on with my life, not having to take all my medication, wearing nice clothes and never being this weight again!! LOL....

Well Done Tim, thanks for all this info, I am being banded in Belgium on Thursday and I am starting to loose my nerve although I am excited at the same time! I want to go back to work after five days, but I will have to take an hours flight on day 7, so if I am not well I will have to take some more leave. Sounds like your doing great hope all us October Bandsters can compare notes as it will be great. Not sure after my band if I should just get fills or sign up for a complete package that provides nutrional and exercise advice? What does anyone think please?

Hi All Can you give me some advice please? I am being banded on Thursday and know I have to have fills afterwards and think Dr Chris/Fred will talk to me about these when I am in Belgium. I have just read a book about Gastric Banding and wonder if I need to sign up with someone who provides aftercare service that includes advice on nutrition, exercise and fills? Can you lovely people let me know what you think please? Thanks

Well done everyone, I am starting to get really nervous, not about the operation but incase I cant do it when I have been banded.... I feel like its the last hope I need to get back into the right frame of mind again.... help!!

Hi Homecare, how are your sister and her partner getting on with their low fat diets?? I came back from hols last week and had a bad tummy on holiday so lost 2lbs, first time ever!! On my LF Diet now and have lost 4lbs so really happy and trying to keep focussed!! Say hello to both of them for me and tell them I am looking forward to meeting them at the meeting on 15th October?

Hi I am getting liquids in for when I return from Belgium, and I have bought Slimfast for the liquid weeks, I notice you said these are high carb, I am not good on carbs, proteins etc dont really understand what I am suppose to be eating or drinking. Are these ok for the liquid weeks, with smooth cup a soups, and milky drinks? Or should I also get some of the tesco ones you suggested. Need help as returning to work after about six days and work away a lot in hotels so need to take my stuff with me!!!! Help..... Thanks

Hi The cheapest way is to go on a site put Dr Chris Bruyne in the search engine and there is one specific page where all the UK people go that mentions him and how to get in touch. I decided to use him contacted a few middle men but found it cheaper with him you have to contact Fred. Good Luck - I am being banded on 16th October really nervous. Fred will ask you some questions etc to assess if you are suitable and meet their criteria. Oliverdog

Hi Everyone Just got back off my hols and wanted to see what was happening on line with my October Band Buddies!! I am starting my low fat diet today as I am being banded on the 16th yippee!! Bad news is I had really bad stomach on holiday in Sri Lanka, good news is its the only holiday I have every been on when I didnt put on weight I actually lost a couple of pounds, so great start. Hope your all as excited as me, off to Belgium soon....

Hi Debs I had the same advice from Fred havent bought the girdle yet, hope to have some time when I get back from my hols!!! Going on Sunday cant wait so not really worrying about my op either, I also looked at some of the other pages and cant think that way as I want to feel ok when I have it done. I have been eating myself silly and I am fed up with food too.... until I get on holiday!! Let me know what sort of things I can eat when I get back as I will go straight onto my pre op diet!! Hope they dont weight me when I get to Belgium as I would of probably put on a stone!! Do anyone know if they do.......... Am away for work from tomorrow until I go on holiday so will catch back up with you when I am back, it will nearly be your time then - good luck with the pre op diet, I have bought some slender drinks for after the op for my liquid diet. Will be thinking of you
