Lately I have been waking up from a dead sleep coughing. My mouth tastes like acid and my throut burns everytime I woke up. I have not had a fill in since November. I was wondering if anyone had this happen to them or if someone knows whats going on. I have lost alot of sleep over this. Its been going on for about over 3 weeks now. I started taking Nyqiul for quick relieve and to get me to sleep as soon as possible. Though, last night I noticed the nyquil didnt seem to be working as well as it did in the begining. It only happens when I am asleep. Never when I am awake.

I didnt know it was a sign of band slipping. I will set up a apointment monday to go in and have it checked out. If it is slipping does that mean I will have to go into surgery again to have it fixed?

I do not see how it could be to tight I have went for over 2 to 3 month with out this feeling. its been about 4 months now with out a fill in. It just started up about three weeks ago. The only thing that had changed THAT night was I had two large glasses of milk. I dont think the milk had anything to do with it sence its weeks after the first night of having it. I highly dought its because of it being to tight

I hope you get the help you need. It is a struggle when your work out buddy isnt working out WITH you. I have to start working out more to I fail at it:thumbdown:. Everytime I go to at the end of the day I am whipped. I want to start doing horse back riding again on the weekends but dont know where to go. If you were in florida I would help you out but sorry. Though, lately I dont even have to work out. Even with out working out I still am able to loose my weight goal for the month and some more. I have not had a fill in for the past two months. I lose to much weight at once and with me being so young doc doesnt want to take a chance so he is trying to slow the weight lose down:thumbdown:. I am ready to get rid of the weight all together...time to move to the moon:thumbup:

anyone else have problems being under or coming around?

I was wondering if I was the only freak that had problems being under. While being rolled into the recovery room I had a 'fit'. I guess it was really bad, the female nurse said she had to take her jacket off because she broke a sweat. I do remember something from the event was something being placed over my face((the gas mask)) and swong my left arm to bat it away, and someone saying I am going to place under your arm ((then something soft under my arm)). My eyes were closed so it all was dark. what was strange was while being half asleep I thought I only swung my arm once, sort of like batting at a fly that wont go away. No it turned out to be a all out war between me and the nurses. They said they had to pad my bed and pin me down so that I wouldnt hurt myself. -

oooooook...I guess I am a freak -
I myself am not going to both telling anyone unless they ask but even then I may not even tell them. I would if I were you keep it with in a few close close close friends that you trust. The only one I have told was my best friend Neva and we have known each other since I was born...no joke..for real, since I was born. Other then that if you feel confertable telling people feel free. They should be understanding of what you are doing. What I am getting at, is that no one needs to know. Just go about and if you dont want to tell anyone carry around some of those drinks like slim-fast and what not. Truthfuly no one NEEDS to know...its just if you feel confertable telling them. One way of telling someone is just be yea what ever kind of mood. It will be hard for you and place you and your friend in a weird spot if you say hey we need to sit down and talk. Just be hanging out with them, and just be like "hey man, you know what lap- band surgery is? yea well, I am going to go have it done" something along those lines. If they ask why just tell them that why you are going to have it. It will make things relaxing and not put anyone on the spot so they arent like "oh...ummmmm...well then" sort of thing

Yes I did, I got it done on July 29, 2009. I never would have guessed it was going to kick my butt that bad. I had a hard time with it...though I did have a "fit" while still under and that was probably why I was having a hard time... I woke up and both a female and male nurse were trying not to chack up laughing. My head bobbing because of only being half awake was wondering what the freak were they laughing at. I was named after some sort of flopping fish. I was sat down and across from me was a lady that went in before me and was all smiling and talkitive....me sat there and looked at everyone that came in the room like I was about to kill them for doing this to me and with a bobbing head trying to go back to sleep

Hi I am new to this website. My name is Shelby and I have had lap band already done. I am a 16 year old girl and have lost 21 pounds since this whole pre and after stuff started. I thought it would be cool to come on here and talk to other people that have had it done. I am hoping to meet others of my age group as well that has had this done, but I am not sure how lucky I will be, because insurance companys wont pay for people under the age of 18. Also some doctors dont even do people under the age either:wink2:

I must say that it was hard for me. It took me a few days before getting back up and going. If I had to go to school the next day I wouldnt have made it. Everytime I sat down and got back up it was disconferting. Though, I am a big baby thats probably way.

I am new to the website and all and was band on july 29 of this year. I would really start to think about waiting for the summer break or get it done earlier on in Christmas break. Most of the time its a in and out sort of thing. Though, you are on a stricked diet for at least a good month. I have been lucky to where the only time its been hard for me is when my father eats his junk food and that is hard as heck. Being at school would really making things harder I think. I am home, at the barn, or working in my mothers office and still its hard as heck seeing people eat things you arent aloud. I would wait for summer break or do it sooner, but thats just me. Good luck to you!
