Angela, I thought you said you were leaving for S.D. on Friday.... are you staying there for a couple of days before you go to Mexico? Melany and Frogger---- are you there?? Good luck tomorrow!!! Angela, didn't you say you bought a new scale?? So are you sure you are comparing your current weight with the same scale you started with? It has been my experience that no scale weighs you the same.... at least that sounds good, anyway!! :biggrin1: I wouldn't worry, especially with all the hiking you have been doing... you are probably building muscle!! P.S. Did you ever catch that cold you were worrying about??? Karen

Sorry to hear about the rough start, but thanks for preparing us. I Kind of suspected there might be a few bumps in this journey, but hopefully the bumps will be small compared to the beauty of the trip! Get better soon and keep posting!! Veggestyle, Grace, and Angela: I like your attitude!! Good luck everybody, November starts tomorrow!!!!!!:bandit

OK, a BIG GROUP HUG to everyone.... one more day until we begin our journey..... one-by-one (or, in some cases two-by-two or three-by-three!) Good luck Frogger and Melany on your Nov. 1 lapbanding, and if you are traveling somewhere to get there, have a safe trip! Report back to us as soon as you are able, please? We will be waiting to hear how it went!! Congratulations on being the trail blazers of our group!! Karen

    November Bandsters!

Denise---you and I have the same band date!! It will be great to watch each other's progress. You sound like you are doing well with the liquid diet. I don't have to do one for longer than the day before surgery, but am considering starting one this week, just to try to control my eating better before getting the band. All of you doing liquids inspire me!! Karen

    November Bandsters!

Thank you, Chris---what an asset you are to this list!! Yeah, those darn french fries.... I love 'em too! Congrats on your NSV--- Veggestyle--- You are having a NSV also! Halloween candy....is everyone else able to stay away, also? This will be a first for me!! I used to buy way more than I needed, just so I would have plenty for ME. Not this year, tho'. Hey, I guess I am having a NSV too!!!:biggrin1: How cool is that that Alix and Angela are in the same city?? I wish I had someone on the list that lived near me, but at least I live in the same STATE as you both! But hey, I will be ok as long as I have this list.... thank you all for being here! 2 more days and counting.......!!!! :clap2: Karen

I am excited for you and your trip to S.D. I bet your Mom is looking forward to it also, huh? Oh and maybe I can make it to Walgreen's for one of those thermos', it sounds great!! November Bandsters!

WOW---we have a lot of brave people getting banded in November!! I say "brave" because most of us will be giving up holiday meals, something most other people wouldn't understand, but which I think speaks volumes about our commitment to a new life. We will be successful!!! :first: Angela, you ROCK!!! Your hike sounds GORGEOUS!! I am so jealous!! I am also in awe of anyone who can walk 4 miles and considers that "moderate".... You DESERVED that breakfast!! Welcome to the new Bandsters! It won't be long now!! Karen

    November Bandsters!

Prbrooksie, I would just HATE to have to wait until Monday for the results, but try hard not to read anything into your numbers. If it is gallbladder, I don't think that would be a problem, since alot of people get theirs taken out when they get banded. I have heard that at several doctor's talks. I don't think that will interfere with your surgery. As for anything else, you just won't know and any speculation will only cause you to stress out. Can you go do something fun this weekend to take your mind off of this? Keep busy and hang in there---I will keep you in my prayers this weekend! Karen

    November Bandsters!

Yes--take care of that sore throat!! Have you ever heard of Zicam (I think that is how to spell it!) If you take it right when you begin having symptoms, it keeps you from getting sick or shortens the sickness. It works great for my family. Sounds like you have a pretty good handle on your "bug" though... good luck! I'm doing pretty good...working extra hours trying to get everything ready so I can leave. Sometimes it is hard to own a business! No, I don't have to do a pre-op diet, but up until now I was doing a low fat/calorie diet with lots of protein, but have been slipping lately. Last Supper Syndrome...sigh. :cry I'm glad YOU are doing so well! And it sounds like everyone who was told to do a fast is doing well, too. Me, I guess I should not be left to my own devices.... :rolleyes November is almost here, thank goodness!!!!

    Cali Bandsters Unite!!

Hi all, I am glad you are finding some other bandsters nearby! I live in the Ventura area and there is no one I know having the lapband surgery here. I am OK, though, since I have this group. Good luck to all who are having their surgery soon...especially you, CJay. Mine is Nov. 8 in Fountain Valley and I can't wait! Shelly and Konrad, it is great to hear how well you are doing. Thanks for the encouragement! Karen

    November Bandsters!

Hi...I haven't been able to get online until now....do you have an answer yet on your bloodwork?? I know you must be scared, but please hang on and remember that things happen for a reason. Maybe you need to get something taken care of that would not have been discovered if you weren't needing to have bloodwork done. Or maybe it will be a glitch that is easily fixed and you will be on your way!! Let us know soon, please---we are pulling for you! Karen
