Thank you Flabuless. Love your name by the way ! LOL Im trying to wait , im just not very good at it. Thank goodness its christmas time , I can justify shopping a bit lol. I LOVE Making other ppl feel good so christmas is the perfect time for that . Luckily we are not short on money this yr for the first time EVER. I just have to control it. I do however see a problem arrising with skinny clothes when i get there. I Could have a SERIOUS shopping issue lol Thanks again Mindy

There is no back up plan for us . We filed chapter 7 bankcrupcy in Feb of this yr , so I can not get financing or a credit card or card with large enough limits to cover it. The job IS going to pay , its almost done, with weather and delays from other contractors its just taking longer than expected. It was suppose to be finished this week , but now its behind schedule. The job will be done soon then we probably have to wait a few weeks to get paid. Im just a very impatient person lol. As far as the pre op stuff there really isnt a big hurry on any of it , I just do not want to do the pre op testing , have it done and be waiting for surgery . Again impatient. lol I think its just a matter of things being SO CLOSE now that i feel like its going to take forever . Thanks for listening . Mindy

My best friend and I have been best friends for 20 yrs. Since we were 11. She's always been thinner than I was. Even when i was thin she was always tiny. Shes heavier now than she's ever been and that's a size 9 ,( I WISH ! That was my heaviest) LOL I wish I had not told her about wanting to have surgery . I got the whole " its the easy way out , I would feel better if you tried this and that first , Surgery is a big deal and I cant see "Waisting" money like that" you know the usual negative responses. Shes also a religious person who feels she can not lie which also involves saying those things to people that you really shouldnt say , ( You know those things you might THINK about your friends but you would NEVER SAY to them) well, she says them because she thinks it lying if you dont. So she said some pretty hurtful things to me. I could show you the emails . LOL Finally I had to explain to her that she could be supportive of my choice without supporting the surgery . She could just be supportive of ME. MOST of her negatvity came from just not knowing enough about the surgery , what she THOUGHT she knew was abotu bypass. She's alot better now but it took her several months. Its something I would have chosen NOT to keep from her but to do it again , I probably would have told her AFTER surgery . HTH Mindy

I do not think its particuarly fair and alot to ask to say to Lyndsey or anyone else that's had a bad experience in Mexico to " dont think that Mexico was a bad choice" its as if your asking everyone to discount their feelings. They have a right to how they feel based on the horrible experiences they have had with the surgeons they have had. I personally think its 100% normal and with in their rights to think Mexico was a bad choice , just as I would think the same if they said " I should not have gone to such and such doc in the states" . I applaud Lyndsey for telling everyone of her experience, hopefully it will save someone else the heart ache because obviously this doc is not safe. Just my input Mindy

This yr im looking forward to xmas for a few reasons. We started our own business in Feb and it is doing really well. So for the first time in my life I can afford to give my kids a nice christmas and not have to worry about how im going to pay my bills the next week or depend on my parents for ANYTHING this yr. Also im able to get my parents a nice gift as well . Something I have never been able to do . And im looking forward to being banded right after christmas . So its going to be a good christmas. We are not going anywhere so that wont cost anything . We just bought my husband a new truck , so with that , my surgery and christmas im not going to go overboard with christmas but we will be able to have a good one. Dinner will probably be at my parents house. Mindy

Once i hit the one month mark it was pretty much up hill from there. I remeber thinking this is NEVER going to get better on some days. But by time i got to one month i wasnt thinking of smoking as much . You should be up hill from here. I use gum too if i wanted to smoke. Kimberly, Sorry I have to say somethings to what you said. You do not HAVE To smoke .. NOW , first let me say this, I am NOT one of those " Ex" Smokers who thinks EVERYONE should quit and will lecture everyone about it . Or think im a goodie goodie because i have quit. BUT i will tell you I have the will power of a fly , none, nada , zero ! I smoked for over 15 yrs at least a pack a day . And to answer your question "What am I suppose to do?Become a hermit & not go around my family and friends ever again?" YES , Not ever again but You tell ANYONE who smokes to NOT COME AROUND YOU SMOKING until you feel you can be around it and not have the urge to smoke. You do what EVER IT TAKES , what ever you feel you have to do to quit . I did what EVER I felt I HAD to do to quit. THat meant when friends and my dad came over ( I Smoked outside) NO SMOKING Outside, I threw away ANYTHING that was realated to smoking , Every single butt around my house , lighters, ashtrays ANYTHING. Stress is something else,.. I realized that when i quit smoking I had NO IDEA how to deal with stress with out cigs. I was SO VERY Stressed out when things stressed me out . BUT I learned to talk things out when they stressed me out and that helped alot. But my husband made a comment to me the other day , he said ' Do you know that since you quit smoking things do not stress you out as much and as easily as they use to " So maybe ciggs exaggerated stress symptoms. NOW I quit before i was banded to avoid having to quit and loose wt. But I kind of dont see the point of surgery to make yourself healthy if your going to smoke still ? It made more sense for me to quit before surgery than after. But TRUST ME IF I CAN Quit anyone can lol . Good luck and you can do it . HTH Mindy

Welbutrin taken for depression wont work as "Zyban" will for helping you quit. Its taking totally differently . Wellbutrin taken for depression helped me take the edge off my cravings and my irritability thouhg and it made quitting this time MUCH More bearable. HTH Mindy

Im not banded yet so im not sure exactly what is ok . What about tea? There is some really good Raspberry tea Arizona tea has that I drink when I broke myself of sodas. You might want to try that ? I get migraines if i dont get enough caffeine in and these teas work fine for me and they are not carbonated . Mindy

CONGRATS Angelburch! that is AWESOME. and the docs will know . When they get in there and you start bleeding more than normal they will know you didnt quit smoking . :omg: so good for you for quitting. I agree quitting is a personal choice. I was one of those smokers that would ask non smokers if they minded if i smoked in MY Car. But i feel MUCH better now that im not smoking. My DH says im calmer too lol Mindy

I went to the mall today for the first time for a "LONG " Shopping trip really since i quit smoking in September. Normally I would have been huffing and puffing and sweating my butt off trying to keep up with my friend. Along with having to sit down every so many mintues because I couldnt breathe. I felt GREAT today . We were at the mall and before tha Kohls for a total of 5 hours and i felt fine. Sure I was tired and Im tired now but no huffing and puffing like normal. I could keep up with her, She even noticed it. So that felt good. All I could think about while i was there though was " MAN I cant wait until can shop at the same stores. She went into Victorias Secret and they had this bra that looked SO COMFY , it was wireless, I asked how large they went up to . (luckily the sales woman was a plus size girl) she said " 38DD they think everyone is a 24C in this place LOL " So i cant wait until I can go in there and shop. Anyway , Quit when your ready, it wont work unless your ready to do it. When you do I PROMISE you you will feel better . Mindy

My doc told me a long time ago to not try to loose wt and quit smoking at the same time , he said you WILL Fail at one. That is why I quit MONTHS in advance. I think it would be too hard. BUT IF anything I think its a goo idea to quit a few days before surgery so your blood is not so thin and its not as hard to heal HTH Mindy

I am 100% sure that I want this surgery , I will be banded in January . I have been 100% since I Went to the seminar back in September or so . I have been researching this for over 2 yrs , very heavily for over a yr. The closer to surgery I get though if i hear of a complication I do stop and think for nano second about it and get a bit nervous . But thats it . I think you wouldnt be human if you didnt get a bit anxious or nervous . I am the kind of person that once i make up my mind nother stops me , ( its the virgo on me coming out lol ) . I think its natural to have some apprehinsion about surgery . Like someone else said, I do not want to yo yo for the rest of my life, diets do not work , there is research to back that up . This is something that i am wondering as well. I want to be banded in Janurary and we are wanting and needing to get insurance as well. So im wondering if i get insurance before surgery if they will cover things if complications arrise from my surgery? Im interested to find out some answers as well. My surgery is self pay as well Mindy

I have PCOS and my hair falls out as a result of that. Not much but a little at a time. I shed like CRAZY . When i take a shower there is always a wad of hair in the drain when im done. Im pretty much expecting to loose some hair (More hair) after surgery . I have no rhyme or reason to expect it just do because of the PCOS LOL Mindy

Ok i have been looking into different protein drinks for my surgery in December. I have chronic migraines . For those who have migraines and have have triggers from MSG do any of the Protein Powders set you off ? I noticed some of them or alot of them actually have MSG under different names . And Whey protein and Soy protein in general usually has MSG in them . SO does anyone have any problems with these ? If so what do you use ? Thanks Mindy

Well it sounds like to me from what you have said that he's nervous that he might loose you and that he's insecure. HOWEVER , I must say as someone who was in a verbally and physcially abusive relationship for many many yrs... This sort of thing with the wrong kind of personality can turn nasty . He can turn very needy, possesive, controlling ect. Not that this is what your boyfriend is like now . But its something to watch out for if he feels he's loosing you . Myself personally after being in an abusive relationship for so long I would NEVER put up with my spouse not supporting this , calling me fat , tellling me im going to fail, being so disrespectful to me. Personally if this is not his norm, sounds like it might be a good idea to get into counseling . I hope things work out. Im not banded yet and I hope my husband remains the same loving supportive husband he is now . But if not he has agreed to get into counseling if we need to HTH Mindy

OHH that is an EXCELLENT point i dont know if it was mentioned or not . I threw away EVERYTHING cigerette related. Ashtrays, lighters, butts, old emtpy packs. EVERYTHING gone. My friend told me ( The Respritory therapist) that its a good way to succeed . Also another tip she gave me was to allow NO ONE to smoke around or in your home. My dad smokes and he is not allowed to smoke at my house ( I smoked outside ) i let him now but i dont go outside and ALL Cig butts MUST BE gone . I am on wellbutrin ( the generic of zyban) for my migraines it it TOTALLY helped . It helps take away the food cravings for 1. 2 it helps with the anxiety ALOT . Mindy

GET THE PATCH !!!!!!!!!! The patch if anything for me helped pyschologically . I would think " Aww the patch works. I bougt " Phase 2 " of the batch and used 3 of them and was done didnt need them anymore. I have that box left if you send me your address i'll mail them to you ! the patch helps I promise Mindy

As someone who is not banded yet , this does make me nervous . I would think that the tubing would be strong enough to with stand a needle prick since you have to get fills so often . I would maybe send them the picture . Mindy

I spoke to Jason last night and we are going to have the money for surgery in December. He cant tell me exactly when , but he does know it will be in December ! I have been speaking to Dr Rincon ( My surgeon) for months via email , I have yet to see him in person . So i called to schedule an appt for mid December , I thought he might be difficult to get into . He tells me " Call me when your ready i'll get you in" ! I was very happy with that ! So now i just need to work on my pre op stuff ! That should take me a few weeks to get scheduled and completed. Which will keep my mind occupied and off of surgery so i dont drive my husband nuts ! . Then just wait for surgery . Doc said once i have that done its just a matter of days from when I See him to schedule surgery ! . OH GEEZ I cant belive this is going to happen soon. I NEVER Thought this would happen ! that's all for now
