    HPV Vaccine

I agree with you. I too have mixed feelings. The way Perry went about things seems kind of shady to me and I think that is going to cloud the good in this . I have a feeling more shadiness might come out about this in the long run. I personally do not care for Perry myself. I took my 15 yr old sister to get the Vaccine and get on the pill and my parents do NOT KNOW YET ! however, I was a single teen mom ( age 16 when i had my son ) and when my 15 yr old sister comes to me and says " I want to get one the pill because I am thinking about having sex with my boyfriend " I was not about to tell her no . She said she could not approach the subject with my parents and shame on them for not changing their "approach" on sex with my sister. I also got my sister the HPV Vax. She was the first one at the PP clinic I took her to to get it. I personally shelled out the $175 x3 of my own money to get it for her. NOW Since all this has come up ( She's over the age) But my mom wants her to get the shot. I Told my sister she's going to have to tell my mom about the shot and the pill . I have MULITIPLE Friends who have had LEEP Procedures, one friend who is infertile and and basically was told by her doc to sit and wait for cervical cancer ( She's got family history on both sides) . I wasnt about to let my sister become sexually active and NOT get the shot . I Have conservative friends who ripped me a new one for doing it but I do not care. I would do it again . MIndy

    HPV Vaccine

I see what your saying. The Flu shot is a great thing too though . for SOME not all . For kids like mine who have asthma , the flu shot is a must . If he doenst get it and gets the flu it could be dangerous. So im glad its there. BUT I also realize that's not the case for everyone. My whole family gets the flu shot to help avoid my son getting it. Mindy

    HPV Vaccine

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070203/ap_on_he_me/cervical_cancer;_ylt=Ap4wedf9lZQrDW_o_eMnFGas0NUE;_ylu=X3oDMTA3OTB1amhuBHNlYwNtdHM- This was all over the news today here in Austin . Perry has made the Gargasal Vax Mandatory . I see a few issues with this ( as it states in the article) #1 He issued an executive order ie Bypassed the legislature. I would NOT have such an issue with THAT SO much except for the fact that his former chief of staff is a lobbiest for Mereck . Now I know this is an important issue . But was it THAT important that it warranted an executive order ? I think not ? Why not do something like that for more important things ? I see shadiness all over this and unfortatly the message of the vax is goign ot get lost behind all that. Now I have to admit im on the fence about it being mandatory . I see and have issues with both sides of it. I see the "religion factor" coming in on this . People are going to opt out of it. So im on the fence about it. Even though if I had dd she would be getting it and im glad my sister got it . IF they had one for boys my boys would get it. Mindy

    Lower Body Lift Fun!

Georgia , you crack me up lol . You remind me of a friend of mine I use to go out with all the time when i was single lol. I use to have a "Rule" when I was single . When guys came up to me and wanted to exchange #'s I would NEVER Take their number , I would only give them mine , that way if they called I knew they were interested . I wouldnt have to wonder " should i call , should i not , what should I do " . I also never had to wonder if they were drunk and wouldnt remeber me LOL When I met my husband I gave him my # and he never called me I thought " OH well no biggie " the next weekend I saw him at the same club ( My girlfriends and I went there every Saturday dancing) he came up to me when i was on the dance floor and BEGGED me ( He says he didnt but he DID LOL) for my # again , I told him " Unless you have a pretty good excuse for losing my # to begin with Im not going to give it to you a second time , it must not have been that important to you to keep the first time " He tells me " OH My your # was in my shirt pocket and my mom came over and did my laundry and washed it " I told him it was inventive so I would give it to him again , He called me before i got home that night lol HAD I known then what I know now about his mother, That was the FIRST sign of things to come LOL . The rest is history as they say . Mindy

    HPV Vaccine

I think i agree w/it not being mandatory . I kind of have mixed feelings about it I guess. I can see how it would help to have it mandatory and why it shouldnt be too . Mindy

    HPV Vaccine

When the chicken pox vax first came out they didnt know how long it would last, hell they STILL DO not know how long it will last for sure, but they tell you you dont need to get your kid a booster. There is no 100% sure thing. how do you think the chicken pox vaccine became part of the vaccine regimine ? From the drug company lobbying. How do you think EVERY OTHER Vax became manatory ? The SAME WAY . Its too important not to get it in my opinon. mindy

    HPV Vaccine

I have sister who is 15 ( im 31) She came to me to be put on birth control because my parents are NOT so bright and did not learn ANYTHING from myself OR MY MOM getting pregnant at 15 and 16 and do not tell her anything different from what they told me . SO that being said, I also got my sister the shot. Since I was paying out of pocket its a series of 3 shots at $175 Each out of pocket for myself. BUT its worth it for me to get it for my sister. I'll deal with my parents later w/all of it. I have a friend who can not have children now due to HPV . Its worth it for me to get it for my sister on both counts. Both are protecting her from very seroius consequences.

    Frustration

Well here it is the end of Jan and still no money for surgery . The job that we are getting the money from is delayed due to the weather here in Texas. So im a bit frustrated. Trying to be patient but that doenst work out too well sometime. I met Dr Rincon last week and he's awesome. Very nice, Very Caring doc . I am hoping to have the money now but the end of Feb. Hopefully that works out . I still do not want to have surgery when the kids are out of school. I think it will be too difficult to do with the boys home . That's all for now .

    $$$ ???

Mexico was not an option for me either. My surgeon charges $12,000 with a yrs worth of fills and after care. If you want Flouro its $100 extra ( I THINK ) He's in San Antonio,TX Im S of Austin so its less than an hours drive for me to see him. Im self pay as well and its cash all the way no financing , i couldnt get financed even if i tried. Email me or pm me if you want more info on my surgeon . HTH Mindy

anyone heard of this? (port related)

I just went to my surgeons seminar last week ( I had already decided on him but went to the seminar with a friend) . Something I asked him was if we already know we want a tummy tuck prior to surgery does that make a difference as to where its placed. He said that the low profile ports just became available "Standard" ( I think that was the word he used) about 2 weeks ago , and that he would put in a low profile and put it in a good spot if i already knew i was going to have a tummy tuck. Mindy
  12. That's been my experience. There are some people I told thinking they would be very supportive of me (Namely my best friend of 20 yrs ) and she was probably one of the most negative people . So I wish I had not told her. I have no issue telling anyone. I feel I know everything about the band I can without being banded (thanks to this site) , So any questions anyone has I can answer w/confidence . And like you said it just benifits my case. Usually the people who have the most negative things to say are the ones that do not know what they are talking about, do not know enough about the band . Mindy
  13. I can tell you that since I am an "Open Book " kind of person , I am what I am and if you dont like it that's your issue, it never occured to me NOT to tell everyone close to me until reading other posts. BUT I can say that after some family members reactions, comments.. ect . That I had wished I had waited at least until I had the surgery . It took my mom and dad quite a long time to come around and not be negative about the surgery. My mom thought " i had not done enough on my own to loose weight " . Grandparents, well they jus tdo not understand the whole concept so they think im crazy . My best friend again , all what SHE wished SHE has seen be done before "resorting" to surgery . Since Im not banded yet, and wont be for another month (HOPEFULLY) I Do kind of wish I had waited. I still do not care what others think, but some days when im frustrtated its just better to not hear others comments. As someone else said on another thread discussing something similiar, I now tell people " SO what if it IS The easy way out, im getting healthy that's all i care about if its easy its easy " HTH Mindy

A free bracelet kit and a good cause....

The long term testing was done for the vaccine by the FDA to get the vaccine approved . It takes an average of 10 YEARS for the FDA to approve a drug or vaccine. During that time testing is done. It wouldnt be on the market if there had not been studies to show its affective . I do agree with you that drug companies have alot of money invested in things. I do not agree with them hiding behind things. If something is funded by a drug company it needs to be apparant , not hard to find out. So i dont totally disagree w/you . Mindy

    cluster headaches

It sounds like your heart procedure could be what "Fixed' your migraines. I have wanted to go get this checked out myself. I saw somewhere that something like 75% of woman who have migraines with aura have the PFO in their heart. I told my husband If i could have surgery on my heart even and it cure my migraines i would do it. The problem is that unless you get in a PFO study docs wont really even test for one with out certain symtpoms showing up . Im glad your have found relief in your migraines. Your one of the lucky ones i just wish the medical community would open their minds to other conditons taht might be causing migraines. I worry so much about strokes because of my migraines. Mindy

    Sleep Apnea Test??

I sleep with a cpap and let me tell you i had NO IDEA I felt so bad until i started feeling " Normal again " . My doc told me that I never got into REM Stage sleep . So I bascially was not sleeping when i thought i was sleeping. He asked me how long i have has insomina ? I told him " About 4 yrs " He said " Mindy You have not slept in 4 yrs " he said i was up and down and tossing and turning all night long. It took about 2 weeks to get use to my cpap . the KEY is getting the RIGHT MASK . the one that yoru comfy with . NOW I cant sleep with out and my husband sure cant becuase i snore too loud lol mindy
  17. Sara is 100% correct. See an endo that is up to date on PCOS . Family practice and OB's will test your levels and see "normal" ranges and endo will look at that same "normal" range and say " this is too low or too high for your age and height and weight ect .. " But like i said before watch out for docs that dont " get or believe in " PCOS . Ask their nurses when you call or ask other people in ur area for an endo that nkow's about PCOS , i have found usually younger docs are better up to date with it > HTH Mindy
  18. NO I does not mean you can not have kids. I know plenty of people with PCOS that have children , namely me and I had no problems getting pregnant. I do not have periods unless I induce them with Provera. I have been like that for many yrs. As you loose weight your period will probably come back. When I was thin my periods were still a little messed up but not as few and far between as they are now. ALL of my PCOS symptoms were not as bad as they are now that im overweight. Fertility issues will get better also once the weight is lost. There are lots of things that can be done to help you once you do get pregnant or to help get your pregnant. I didnt see if you were banded yet but I think you will find once you loose weight alot of the issues you have now will get better. Mindy

A free bracelet kit and a good cause....

I took it the same way , i took it as against it. But maybe i took it wrong as well . Personally i have issues with drug companies. they overprice meds and spend $$$$ whining and dining docs and their offices where they could cut that out and save the consumer money . However, if they are trying to get the word out about a drug that can save lives in the future , what's the issue. I dont see one as long as its getting out. MOST drug info is out by drug companies first , that's how the public finds out about it Mindy
  20. That's what is so crazy about Migraines and PCOS . everyone is so different. I for one never had fertility problems . It took 5 months to get pregnant with my second son and my first was a "surprise" . With migraines , I for one cant do soy but others can . so many variations. Im glad this is helpful lol Mindy
  21. Thanks , The problem with MSG is that its under SO many names. I wish the goverment would do something about it . Regulate . That's how chinese food resturants can get away with saying " NO MSG " its because they have MSG its just in the food under a different name. So if you do not know that its under 20 other names and ask " Do you have MSG in your food" they say no you assume its safe and its not " The best thing I have done is to try to stay away from the inner isles of the grocery store. that is the best way to avoid preservatives. But nothing works 100% for me . Mindy

hi Jules, Im going to be banded , im hoping by the end of next month. My husband bid a job with a RIDICOULOUS mark up as a joke kind of because he really didnt want the job but felt obilagted to bid it. Well turns out they hired him lol Even though he was way more expensive than others. SO as soon as that job is done , im taking the money from our profits from that to get banded.
