it can also take up to 2 weeks for your fill to "Kick" in . Be patient. My first fill i could tell a difference ( I also have a 4cc band) But it was not a major difference. I could tell I could eat Less than after surgery and that was less than before surgery if that makes sense. Then when that "wore" off I could eat A Lot but it was still less than before surgery . I just had to get a slight unfill Monday because i was too tight. So dont be SO Quick to get another fill. Give it a little more time. If after another week or so you are still not having any restriction then ask your doc for another fill HTH Mindy

Any news from the doc Jill ? mindy
-
you dont remember what it was you ate that got you feeling stuck to begin with ? Maybe it was something that you cant tolerate ? I for instance can not tolerate eggs . They get stuck every time . Do you have any Gas X ? Maybe try some Gas X ??? Just a thought , I hope your doc replys by morning , if not Call him Mindy
-
First off have you called your doc ?Second after only 4 weeks are you suppose to be eating anything ? If you have not called your doc I would. NOW It MIGHT Be gas ? But Might not . I would call your doc ASAP . Mindy

dont be fooled by the way she looks. People do not have to look a certain way to be on drugs. if she does not use it constantly or if she just started using it she may not " look" like a drug user. Cocoaine generally does not make people look like a drug user for quite some time .. HTH Mindy

Im not a coffee drinker either, these do not have a strong flavor , I really think you might like thse. They are in the produce section of the grocery store. they are hard to explain . sort of a mix of milk shake and frapachino lol I like these because they dont taste like other stuff. I also like carnation instant breakfast LOL Mindy
-
try the bolt house. The 3 i mentioned above are the only one's w/ protein . The mocha and the hazel nut taste JUST LIKE a frappachino .. they are SO GOOD . NO protein taste at all . Mindy
-
These are my FAVORITE FAVORITE thing . They are a little high in calories but for breakfast they should be fine. The sugar is a little high too . But again for someone like myself as well that doesn't eat breakfast they are fine for me. Bolthouse Farms "Perfectly Protein vanilla Chai Tea with Soy Protein" Bolthouse Farms "Perfectly Protein® HazelNut Latte with whey Protein" Bolthouse Farms "Perfectly Protein Mocha Cappuccino with Whey Protein" these three are the only ones that have protein in them , each have 29 grams of protein in them .. I should be their spokesperson i love them so much ! LOL They are SOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD !!!!!!! Love Mindy

Somthing Happened and I almost went to the Emergency Room

Agree with Kacee,It makes it worse and does not help . Probably makes things hurt worse too. After I did that the middle of my chest hurt for 3 days. Mindy -

Chelle , i sent you a PM , but my husband and I went thru something like this rececntly , we started our own business that has done pretty well. WELL the family ( His ) took that as an "OPEN FOR LOAN " sign on our house. Like your situation we did loan money at first and people didnt bother to pay us back , we loaned to family. SO , after in one day we had 4 family members call and ask for money we decided to no longer loan money to ANYONE . Our response is something along the lines of " Because of the problems it has caused in the past we no longer loan money to anyone, it does not help the situation for either of us , so the answer now and in the future will be NO so please do not ask again " That has worked so far... Somthing Happened and I almost went to the Emergency Room
coltonwade replied to riseandfall9's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
What happened when i did it was explained like this . you ate , what ever you ate was sitting on top of your stoma , you probably got a little stuck. The liquid had no where to go because the food you ate was sitting on top of your stoma . Therefore it felt as if the liquid could not go through because in actuality it could not the food was blocking it. If your stomach is hurting after this incident that's "normal" My chest hurt for about 3 days . It was VERY traumatic for me . PBing and getting stuck can cause swelling, that is why you need to be on liquids for at least 24 hours after each incident. i would call your doc tomorrow and let him know what happened. Docs require different things after getting stuck. in actuality what probably happened , with out even realizing it is you probably did not chew you food well enough or took too big of bite or ate too fast. When I did it I didnt chew well enough THEN Took the drink of Water . BIG NO NO ... I guarantee you when you tell your doc what happened he's gonna say " dont do that again " LOL Mindy -
Somthing Happened and I almost went to the Emergency Room
coltonwade replied to riseandfall9's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
OHHH I had this happen to me . First off DONT DO THAT AGAIN . if you feel like your stuck DO NOT DRINK After wards it will make things worse . That is why they tell you to not drink after you eat , becasue things will not go down , even water . Or I should say they CAN Not go down .... Im assuming your recently banded since your putting things in a blender to soften them up ? What you experienced was bascially a PB . Or you got stuck. A PB is a productive burb A nice way of throwing up . After what you just went threw you should #1 call your doc and explain to them what happened , he will most likely tell you that you need to go on liquids for a day or so . When I had this happen to me I seriously thought i was going to DIE , i could not breathe, and the liquid would not go down . It soon all came back up .... .. I hope that helps .. Mindy -
I think that is a good idea and frankly I think it would give the cook book a more professonal note and allow it to be taken more seriously . Mindy

Anyone banded in Austin Texas recently???
coltonwade replied to robynrr2000's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Carole, made me think of a good point , Dr Rincon does all my fills under Flouro until he can feel the port himself. You do have to pay $125 to the hospital for the flouro . But I feel much better using flouro espically being that i am self pay . Mindy -
Anyone banded in Austin Texas recently???
coltonwade replied to robynrr2000's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi everyone, Im Mindy I live in Austin but was banded in San Antonio ( I actually live in Buda) I was banded by Dr Jincon . $12,000 first yr of fills free. There is an additional cost for pre op tests which ran around $700 I think ? But the $12,000 includes surgery and anestiologist ect. Click on his name in my sig line and it will take you to his site. I LOVE Dr Rincon . he's awesome. And its only about a 45 mintue drive to SA from here. There is another patient of his I have become friends with that we try to schedule appts on the same day so we car pool. Longhorn looked into him but he didnt work well with her schedule being in San Antonio. Feel free to ask me any questions . I Highly recommend Dr Rincon . Love Mindy -
Anyone have a husband who is nonsupportive?
coltonwade replied to munchkin392's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
NOW Im sorry an 11 yr old daughter is a different story . In this situation YOU are the MOM , You need to tell your daughter that you are in control of your body and your band , you know what you can and can not eat and NO 11 yr old should be "Riding your butt" about anything , she only does what is allowed to be done . Really would you allow someone else to do this ?? I certainly would not . I would not allow anyone i know to police my food. Questions are fine, But no way is anyone going to ride me one what i put in MY body . Family or not. Conern is one thing but, i people will only do what you allow them to do . I would tell your daughter you appreciate her conern but you are a grown up and she needs to STOP Mindy -
For those that have been too tight....
coltonwade replied to mbanja's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am not THAT tight but I can feel it for sure. For instance in the morning I can actually feel how tight I am if that makes sense , i cant really explain it. I can eat semi solids , but my doc has tried to get me up to soilds twice since my fill on the 5th and I just cant do it. Even things like Potatoes and Chili wont go down , but even that is off and on ,sometimes they do sometimes they dont. So i think its TOO sparatic for him to allow me to go on until i loosen up ? But who knows . We will see on Monday . Mindy -
LMAO that's funny like " Your all fixed now you can have it out " Too funny, you look GREAT BTW Chickie. I read ur blog when i have time and I think its AWESOME . You crack me up . Mindy

I have 2 ... My grandma asked me how they adjusted me "Belt" I asked her what she was talking about . She said " I dont get how they adjust the belt around your waste" she thought I literally had a belt surgically implanted around my waste LMAO The other one is recently my aunt was here visiting , she saw me getting a plate of food at my mom's house and she looked at me and said " You can EAT" I said yes what do you expect " she said " OH I didnt know you can eat with the band surgery " GEEZ people LOL Mindy

I am in pretty much the same situation right now. I am slightly over filled I think . It is some what sparatic as to what i can and can not eat. I had a fill on the 5th of this month . SO long story short , I am going in on Monday to see the doc , I am not sure if he is going to give me an unfill or not ? I am pretty sure he will give me a slight unfill. BUT he has instructed me to be on liquids until Monday . So that is what I will be doing . HTH Mindy -

Anyone have a husband who is nonsupportive?
coltonwade replied to munchkin392's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Maybe his concern is that he does not think that you can / will follow 'band" rules post op. however most will tell you that its TOTALLY different once your banded. And once your banded , I personally dont look at this as a Diet, I eat what I want for the most part. I Do eat healthy . But if i want to eat a piece of cake at a bday party i will. So maybe he thinks your going to do the same as you are now post op . And honey , what your doing is TOTALLY natural I think. I know i "Cheated" pre op . NOW GIven that , Granted he may be scared , his way of expressing himself is WAY OUT OF Line if you ask me and I in no way shape or form would put up with that sh*t! IF he is not going to support you he needs to SHUT UP plane and simple. IF he cant say anything nice he needs to say NOTHING. If he's acting like this NOW , ya'll need to get into counseling in my opinion. Yes he may be scared but that does not give him the right to sabbatoge you . Stick up for yourself. Did you do this to him when he was getting sober ? Your getting sober from food right now . If you supported him He NEEDS to support you ! I agree with the other posted find people who WILL Lift you up as well... Just my input im off my soap box LOL Love mindy -
I got a loan from Medicredit.com My credit is ok but i have a less than 2 yr old bankruptcy on there that is hendering it . They loaned me $8K on the $12K I needed. Parents gave me the other $4 I needed. The medicredit loan was easy , the doc , if not on their list just bascically has to agree to take their check. Which mine did. If i pay back the loan in the first yr they will refund any interest I paid. Good luck HTH Mindy
