The reason for not drinking while eating is because the liquid can stretch your stoma ( pouch) . Also if you drink before you should ( 30-60 mintues after you eat ) the liquids wash the food through the stoma faster and you will be hungry faster and sooner than if you had not drank . I drink up until I eat and then an hour after eating. DId i make sense ? HTH Mindy

I do have to agree with you LD. I tried to get insurance ( Private insurance) AFTER my band. I was turned down previously because i was TOO FAT, right now im on the Texas High Risk Health Plan . I am a PERMANENT DECLINE since i Have the Lap Band for Private Health Insurance. Until they change the laws, minds about the band. its CRAP the insurance companies can do what ever the hell they feel like even when YOU are paying the premiums Mindy

This is just my thought but I would think that the docs office would have a pretty good idea if this particular insurance company will cover the band or not ? They deal with it every day and they should be able to say " look we have seen these covered or not " so at least you know if there is a chance" Again , its just me thinking LOL Mindy

They WONT take patients from Mexico ? I dont need it for me but others. Just to clarify . Some people who were banded in Mexico do have the documentation , med records ect. So Im confused. IF YOU have that info will they fill you ? Just trying to clarify . Thanks Mindy

well im glad to know im not the only one with a hairy stomach . LOL I guess I can live with it until my tummy tuck , make sure my plastic surgeon knows i want all of it cut away lol . As for the laser hair removal. I had mine done on my chin and lip before surgery and had to go through 12 sessions and it did not help . It did make it less but i still have it, Im still having to shave my chin . Im waiting a little longer until i loose more weight then i'll go back . I wish i had waited before I did it . HTH Mindy

No these are not that small, they are very well made , they dont get in the way at all either. And if you have a problem with them ( I have never ) But if you do they will fix them for a very small price. I have a necklace from there i have had since i was 16 , about 2 yrs ago the chain broke, I took it in , i told them , " I have had this for quite some time over 10 yrs " they gave me a brand new chain for $12 new they are normally around $30 and up . I still cant find my battery charger. The best i can explain is that they are no larger than a penny "height and width " and some are around the size of a dime. They are not too large for a charm bracelet at all. All of them have a size in the descrpition . HTH Mindy

I dont know about you but my husband has not seen me totally naked in many many yrs. So If your brave enough to get your post across you might want to stand there naked and say " would YOU Be happy with this ? " and point to your excess skin . My husband is totally for me having the plastic surgery . Mainly cause hes' a boob man and wants the boobs for HIM lOL but no he knows how self conscoious i am . Also on Big Medicine when the woman said she has her " no touch zone" dh said " OH She's got one too huh " LMAO Mindy

ROFLMAO I felt like that when i went into Run Tex to get my shoes. There were lots of thin people in there and i felt like they were like ' what the hell are youdoing in here " Then i told them " Yeah i have lost 60 lbs so i need knew shoes" I got some respect after that LMAO Didnt tell them HOW But they just assumed . So I shut up LMAO The people in there were really nice to me . One Runner even heard me say I run at a slow pace, he told me " I have been running for 4 yrs i run with a guy who slows me down because he runs at a slow pace , but you know what he can run ALL DAY LONG at that pace, so faster is not always better , keep it up " I thought that was kind of nice of him. LMAO I was just messing with you . I drive 45 mintues from Buda to San Antonio for my doc. Is Bryan only an hour from here ? I thought it was closer to 2 ? I feel the same about my doc ! It is a plus she's banded though, that's awesome ! Mindy

well go figure my battery in my camera is dead and cant find the charger. Most of them are no taller than a dime . I have one that has an M with a heart around it and its about the size of a penny . Once i find the battery i'll take a pic and see if you can get a more accurate size of them . I LOVE LOVE James Avery , I Only buy Silver from them HTH Mindy

if you have increased your work out and DECREASED your calories that is a problem , when you increase your work out you need to INCREASE calorie intake. My trainer told me while working out you need a minium of 1200 calories a day . Your not eating enough . does that make sense ? I have hard time explaining things some times LOL Mindy

how the girl looked last night , the bottom half of her stomach is how i look like already . I looked like that before surgery . So i imagine im going to look pretty close to her when im done if not worse. my husband is ITCHING for the TT and boob job when im done LMAO I was skinny when i met him but had little boobs. So he cant wait ! Mindy

I already know i want a TT and Breast Lift/implants . Like you I have 2 kids with the weight gain and loss i have a lot of excess skin around my waist. I too am a little concerened about the pain. procedure in general. From what i have seen and read from others its not AS bad as people think it is ? I have heard the recovery process can be a little long as far as not being able to pick kids up , ect. My kids are older 15 and 6 so I am not as concerened about that. I think what is important in this for you is support from your husband , if your going to do this , espcially with the little ones and lining up care, help ect. I think if he stands behind this , know's your not going to leave him , know's your doing this for your continued self esteem. Last night on the show Big Medicine there was a really good segment. A woman had lost a lot of weight. She had a TT and breast implants. She explained ( very emtionally ) to the show and her husband why she did it . It was not to look like a super model, ect it was to look and feel "Normal" for the first time in her life . I can see if i can find that for you if you want. Anyway good luck ! Mindy

I think you seem to be donig well. Your only about what 11 weeks out of surgery ? The first 6 weeks post op is not about weight loss its about recovery . You said you just started working out this week. Were you walking or anything prior to that ? I was able to walk 2 weeks post op . I know if stop moving , so does the scale ! Also are you tracking what your eating ? Are you eating ENOUGH ? are you eating too much ? Both can halt your weight loss. You said your loosing inches so that is a plus ! I think your doing well so far ! Mindy

The first 6 weeks after surgery is not about weight loss it is about recovery ! Any weight loss during that time is just a bonus . My best advice , Concentrate on healing, Follow your post op diet , and from this point on don't compare your weight loss to anyone elses. There are SO Many factors that affect everyones weight loss you just can NOT compare , even some one who was banded on the same day as you . Your setting yourself up for disappointment ! Your doing great, the 10 pds you have lost is a great BONUS , a great head start. Keep up the great work ! HTH mindy

Ok I got week 2 day 1 half way done and my husband walked into the room ( I wont run in front of him ! LOL ) SO Im going to finish , do over in the AM ) MAKES ME MAD , they (My boys and DH ) KNOW better then to come into my room when the treadmill is on ! UGHHH . BUT I did get about 15 mintues of it in . Not bad a little more burn than week 1 . My new shoes are great ! Definite difference in how i feel running than in my old shoes ! Mindy

Be careful with the ring guards like shown above. I had one on my anniversary band and it scratched the hell out of it ! I like the vinyl tubing idea myself. When i had the ring guard on mine it really bothered me as well, scratched me , maybe i did not have a good one or something ? HTH Mindy
