    Ok im registered for the 5K ! No backing out now ! OH and TX we can figure out a place to meet up . If your coming in the night before we can go to Run tex then and go to dinner or something ? I think the race is fairly early in the morning and run tex does not open until 10 . So it might be better to go in the am . And yes we have academy's here . Mindy

    I did not do day 3 yesterday , if this cedar in this town does not go away im going to scream, we have rain calling for tomorrow so hopefully that will help . so im going to try to do it tonight. Just gotta do it ! Week 3 is 3 MINTUES Of running ? UGHH. Im registering now for the 5 K too Mindy

    As time goes on we defiently get a feel for what we need to do . If i start to slow down I can go walk for 30 mintues and im not kidding the next day the scales moves . I dont track my calories anymore. And i wont . Unless its needed to see why im not loosing . As for the stuck episode. Be sure and tell your doc you had one last night, he might want to keep you on liquids longer after the fill ( if you have one) As for the pineapple juice and the papaya enzymes, I like the Enzymes better , i find it SO HARD To drink if im stuck , it hurts sometimes so bad. So i prefer the papaya Enzymes . They seem to work better too . The pineapple juice usually makes me PB if I am stuck. HTH Mindy

    At 800 cals I was Hungry as hell and Not loosing at all ! Your calorie intake ideally should be from 1000-1200 calories a day . at 800 cals a day your body can go into Ketosis which is dangerous not to mention STINKY ! LOL Even before I had restriction My doc told me to get in as close to 1200 a day and when i started exercising 1000 was a MUST ! If you dont your body will go into starvation mode and you wont loose. Your not doing yourself any justice by cutting back . So EAT WOMAN LOL I agree with you on the scale though , I cant stay away either. I have to know if i have gained I manage to only weigh once a week !. But the first 2 months or so it was every day . Once you get restriction you should have it for much longer than a week. Mine lasts for around 6-8 weeks. Good luck . Do you have a larger band ? HTH Mindy
  7. no no no ... ya gotta practice your healthy recipes on them how old are your kids ? If they are some what young get the "Sneaky Chef" Book and practice those, they are good for them and most are band friendly . So cook good stuff ! LOL Mindy

    There is another 5 K in March Im hoping to be able to run the whole thing then , its the Star Flight 5 K here in Austin . Austin has LOTS of runs ! There is one somewhere close just about every weekend. STAR Flight 5K I WOULD LOVE to go to Mexico . but My first "skinny trip " is VEGAS BABY !! Mindy
  10. ROFLMAO My husband thought i was loosing my MIND right before and after surgery , I watched the food network 24/7 ! Im glad to know im not the only who who did that ! I also did A LOT OF cooking believe it or not . I think i compensated for the fact I could not eat by shoving food in my families faces ! Mindy
  11. The liquid diet was something I did not have to do . Hang in there though . where in Texas are you ? who is doing your surgery ? I was banded in San Antonio in July By Dr Rincon . So far so good. Hang in there its hard but you can do it . Mindy

    OH this was the PSYCH telling you this ??? That makes this almost laughable ! Granted the do know a little about the procedure ect but to THIS extend ? I would question , OBVIOUSLY this person does not know what they are talking about ! I agree with WASA if bypass was SO Reversible why do you not see THAT being advertised all over the place and see patients actually doing it when they have complications such as not being able to STOP loosing weight. BIG problem I would want to be able to stop if it was killing me ! Talk to your DOC about this ! Also what WASA said bypass for someone with such a BMI Of yours is pretty drastic. Tell the psych to stick to your head and leave your stomach to the experts ! Mindy

  16. are you sure your not too tight ? If the liquids are not comfortable for you you may be too tight and need to get a slight unfill ? What mbanja said is true. Which is why you need to make sure your not too tight ! Mindy
  17. totally agree. In my experience if you think your too tight your too tight ! And contrary what everyone thinks , unfills are not the end of the world. You WILL still HAVE RESTRICTION if you get an unfill ! They are fine you will not regret getting one . I have had 2 unfills and 2 fills. My doc and I have found that im sensitive to fills and need to go slower with them , smaller fills at a time. And im fine ! HTH Mindy

    someone told me once we did not gain the weight overnight so its not going to come off overnight. Which is hard for me to remember sometimes. Im over half way there now and even though it took me 7 months for the first half to come off it seems like it went by very quickly. However it seems like ( it may and it may not be I dont know ) the weight is coming off very slowly now . So i too am getting a bit frustrated. Maybe in another 6 months I'll think " wow that went by fast" I just need to keep working at it . I sometimes forget things i need to be doing. I just now really started exercising other than walking . I have had to step away from the boars too . They can help and sometimes hender you . Sometimes encourage and sometimes discourage you. nothing wrong with that at all. Do what you feel is best. Dont forget about me though ! LOL Mindy
  19. My personal opinion because i have been through this of being too tight. THe last time i went for an unfill by time i got to the doc i could feel the tightness in my chest , it was VERY uncomfortable. Both times I have thought i needed an unfill I did. Also . You should not be asking advice about how long you stay on clear liquids before moving to liquids on the boards those are questions you need to ask YOUR Doctor. WHy ? because every doc is different. My docs post fill diet is MUCH different than most. I am on clear liquids for 3 days liquids 3 days mushies 3 semi solids 3 days. Some docs only require 24 hours after a fill. Also docs require something different if you think your too tight or if your swollen . My advice if your having problems getting liquids down , at the VERY LEAST call your doc to make him aware of the situation ! HTH Mindy

    Why no drinking BEFORE a meal

    The no drinking before meals is I think a standard for most docs . I think its because they dont want your stomach filled with liquids before you eat. Liquids do not take a while to go through the stoma. If you have ever had a fill under flouro you can see this. Granted it does not go straight threw but it does not take long, Im talking less than 30 seconds ! Now with REALLY good restriction it will take longer but nothing like 30 mintutes . But like you I also drink right up until i eat. But most docs say no drinking 30 mintues to an hour before. My best advice follow what YOUR Doc says. Mindy

    Sometimes i think people look at others weight loss and say " WOW " That is SO Much your loosing so much more than myself. But if you figure in the "average" weight loss per week its "Average" or even closer to their own. I have a friend who was like "Im loosing so slow this is not working , you have lost so much i dont get it " I figured our her average weight loss per week is was the same as mine " we are ALL so much harder on our selves. I dont see that much of a change in myself as others do even after 62 pounds! But others do . I dont see it yet. Mindy

    I dont think you see that you ARE losing at quickly as some. Your average wieght loss per week is average. But I totally understand about the weigh ins . My friend has the same band as you and she just now is feeling restriction ( she was banded after you ) and has been a bit frustrated up until this point too. She felt like she had not band with out the restriction. Let me know how the weigh in and the appt goes. Have not talked to you for a while .:clap: Mindy

    Your right I must have misunderstood you . I started out weighting every day and it got frustrating . From seeing the scale not move for a day or 2 to seeing a gain for a day . That's when I Started to just do it on Mondays. Maybe once a week is still too much but it helps me be accountable to ME to know what i need to work on . If im gaining then i know i need to walk more . are you tracking what your eating also ? are you getting in enough calories ? The challenges I dont do on here. I do them on the other board Im on they are small like loose 5lbs in a month. Just to try to keep me motivated. You seem frustrated. I hope your not . It will work , it will come . Keep it up Mindy

    YOu are the ONLY person I know that had a projected weight loss plan BEFORE you started this ! LOL You set yourself up for disappointment by doing that to yourself hon ! I know its the math teacher in you . But ya gotta stop expecting so much or expecting anything . Take it as it comes. I Weight myself to see what i need to do . If i gain I work out . If im loosing I either work out or i Dont . but i think the " Plan" before hand really set you up for failure before you started . HTH Mindy

    I agree this is why i weigh myself every monday . I dont count "gains" unless its there for 3 days in a row. Why you might ask ? with the way a womans body is and Water weight and hormones its so up and down . So gaines I dont count unless the same number is there for 3 days ! Mindy
