I think if your going to make negative statements like this you should specify WHICH Dr Ortiz . There are MORE Than ONE ya know ! SO you might want to specify when making negative statments . NOt that im against the negatives if they are true , i think they are an important part of the research process but I think its important to make sure the RIGHT doctors are being spoken about an accurate facts. Are you going to your surgeons office ? If so I can all but guarantee you they wont care. Or wear LOTS Of layers you can EASILY get 5lbs of clothes on . Keep your shoes on . Your Surgeon will work with you i bet. I have heard lots of tricks. Go buy some heavy jeans LOL Mindy

I prefer not to call if passive aggressive but FAKE ! And frankly im as tired of it as you are. Ive been tired of it since high school . I get the "WOW that was blunt " or "Wow you SURE can be a BITCH Mindy" quite often , but I was not always like that. I guess you could say I use to be passive aggressive and was frankly a door mat for people to walk on and wipe their feet on . I look at it this way , i honestly do not see the point of sugar coating things with people espically if it wont help them . NOW I tend to say things the wrong way a LOT . But i tell the TRUTH . Sometimes it gets me in trouble sometimes people thank me for it later. MOST Of the times I will ask people "do you WANT the TRUTH " LOL MIndy

Someone needs to actually be checking her temp not just "feeling " her. if she's ran any kind of fever her doc needs to know ASAP. She NEED To be walking or she could develop blood clots . Someone needs to tell her laying in bed is NOT an option right now and not drinking is not an option right now . If your dad wont call her doc than you need to . Something minor can turn serious from a fever and dehydration post op . Not to try to scare you but there are reasons docs tell you to walk, drink and CALL IF you run a FEVER ! Let us know how she is doing Mindy

I missed this post. It is confusing when its random like this . But if your having problems with your own Saliva even on some days I would venture to guess your too tight. That's not safe to stay THAT Tight ! Have you called your doc ? Where in Texas are you ? Mindy

BOTH times i needed unfills this is exactly what happened to me. I get all my fills under flouro , can drink Water fine after my fills. Keep in mind your fills can take up to a week to kick in if not longer for some people, also your stomach can swell after a fill. That is why my doc requires 6 days of liquids post fill. By time i get to even semi solids If im having issues I KNOW Im too tight. Honestly It sounds like your probably in need of an unfill. I dont get people being SO afraid of an unfill. If your TOO TIGHT your too tight. I was a little worried because i did not know what to expect. but if you get an unfill , you WILL Still have restriction , think about it , your TOO tight NOW , so if they take out some ( and they only take out A little ) you will be restricted still. Your NOT Going to gain a TON of weight back. The unfill puts you where you SHOULD Have been with the original fill. I Have discovered that ( along with my doc) that I am sensitive to fills and have to go slower with the amounts. For example instead of 1cc at a time I have to do half a cc or less . I cant tolerate 1cc fills . If you THINK you need an unfill or if your not comfortable eating the way you are and your PBing often you probably need an unfill ! HTH Mindy

Really its not that bad, the needles are SO tiny . Also you can give the injections in your thighs as well. Good luck with your surgery ! My husband would not have done it even if i wanted him too either LOL Mindy

I would call and discuss it with your doc ? My doc keeps me on liquids for 6 days post fill so the swelling goes down . So i would call the doc it does sound like you could be too tight. HTH Mindy

that depends on how much your getting. My sister in law had to take it for 2 MONTHS after her blood clot 3 times a day . Mindy

Yeah docs vary so much . That is an issue personally , i wish they would all get to gether and say " HERE is how we are ALL going to do it " Your doc might not have wanted you to take aspirin because you were going to get heprin in the hospital and didnt want your blood too thin ? That would be my guess ? who knows ? I was surprised I got an injection of heprin BEFORE surgery . Mindy

I had the same amount of heprin ,so did a friend of mine as Seattle Girl, its a valid precaution .Obese people in general are prone to clots after surgery. I did not spend time in the hospital , was home the same day . but i had the same instructions you did . Get up walk around ect . I think that is pretty standard for any surgery ! . Heprin is not uncommon instructions for post op ! Neither is this amount . Mindy

That is true , also i said give them in your stomach because i have A LOT OF excess skin in my stomach and I cant even feel the needles there. You feel a very tiny pinch like someone poked you with a straight pen and that's IT . Most of us i think probably have some excess skin some where . Just as long as you get it somewhere where there is excess skin or fat it wont hurt. Mindy

I do not know . different docs have different protocals My doc does not require everyone to do this. Its not needed for EVERYONE! I would say if you Smoke AND take the pill your a good canidate because that right there puts you at Risk for clots ! your not suppose to smoke and take the pill. My SIL almost died from a blood clot that went to her lungs from smoking and taking the pill. So i would quit as soon as you can before surgery ( meaning as long as you can before the surgery ) Mindy
