    I'm new

HUH ?? how is that not normal ? Or average ? there are A LOT OF people who loose weight before restriction . I lost 12 pds the first week post op ! Best I figured really quick your loosing 3 pds a week right now . A little "Above Average " maybe but that will taper off a bit when you get a fill. But not losing ANY Weight is a stretch !! Mindy

    Fill advice from veterans....

I agree when i am good I can "feel" my bolthouse shakes go down in the am . But around 2 pm im good can eat fine just no more than about a cup . Now the fill before last I was getting stuck on my tiny topamax pill as i was taking it , in the am i knew that was too tight. getting really good restriction does take some getting use to its a total mind *F* in my opinion LMAO LOL Mindy
  3. are you able to eat a lot ? at first when i was still loosing I was getting fills if I could eat a lot. now i tend to wait until my weight loss slows down some and i can eat a lot ? Mindy

    Fill advice from veterans....

My fills typically take 4-7 days to "kick in " also takes that long to know if im too tight or not . Now when I have good restriction , I cant eat solids for breakfast, Its shakes , If you having issues getting liquids down your too tight and might need a slight unfill . If the way your eating is not comfortable for you , I would say you need an unfill. I get unfills if they way im eating , even if small is not comfortable for me or if I cant tolerate it . when in doubt call the doc Mindy

    Crushing Meds Post Op?

The generic wellbutrin is about the size of an M&M ( that's what i take ) and FYI when i have good restriction , like now I HAVE to cut it in half or I have issues . My topamax is fine . I would bring them with you just in case. I have also found the pharmacist tends to know as well which meds can be crushed and which ones cant. Good Luck Mindy

    Crushing Meds Post Op?

FYI and i dont want to scare ya Wellbutrin ( I take the generic 2 times a day ) Is NASTY Crushed, I ended up cutting them in 1/4's my doc was ok with that. Topamax is SO Small i had no issues with that. You might want to ask him if you can do that , or the granules are fine too. But i could not stomach the wellbutrin crushed. It made me gag. So might want to try something before hand to cut down the taste. HTH Good luck Mindy

    Fill Decision - please help!

you can still be too tight under Flouro . I have all mine done under Flouro and still have had 2 unfills. Yes it keeps you from being totally closed. But you can still get TOO tight and have to go back for an unfill. With your doc being out of town what's going to happen if you need one ? My Fills dont typically kick in for 4-7 days after my fill . So i dont even find out im too tight until then. I have since learned after those 2 unfills that I dont tolerate 1cc fills I have to get .5cc fills. So dont let flouro be a false sense or security for you . Its not a magic ball. It that makes sense its a tool. You might be better off waiting . HTH Mindy

    Allergic reaction??

I did have something, it was a heat rash , i would contact your doc though to make sure its not something more serious. When in doubt contact the doc that's what we paid them for . Mindy

    Fill Decision - please help!

Stress causes my band to tighten up . I also can get so tight before/during my period that I have to go on liquids. I would say if this is still the case you might want to reconsider and put the fill off ? Or discuss it with your doc ? Are you close to your docs office ? My follow ups are free for the first yr so it might not be a bad idea to go in and talk to him about it and the 2 of ya'll can decide together in his office ? In the mean time i would really pay attention to yourself and how your eating , make sure your following the "Rules" and make sure that's not an issue . HTH Mindy

    Drinking Water before eating

I have gotten to use to not drinking after meals I forget TO drink . I have set timers to remind me . If you get into the habit of NOT Doing it it becomes just that a habit. I do how ever drink up until my meal comes. Then no more drinking. When i have restriction If I drink and eat Im in big trouble. I learned that the hard way once and dont want to chance it again . It was WAY too painful ! i agree with Wheetsin about the Erosin stuff too. what she said LOL Mindy

    Drinking Water before eating

I dont think anyone said you HAVE to drink Water before Eating. My doc says No liquids 30 mintues before or at least 30 mintues after a meal . are you sure you did not misunderstand and they did not say NO Drinking 15-45 mintues prior to eating . MIndy
  15. Things like fast food are a thing of the past for me , I just dont eat them anymore. they usually do not work for me any way , unless its Wendy's chili , Mc donalds Subway ,ect , no way , i just dont eat there anymore. Like you said its just so much work to eat there its just not worth it . They do not appeal to me at all . Mindy
  16. on some days i can some days I cant. However , Personally after 9 months I find i dont want /care for bread much and I dont eat it i dont care one way or another. After being banded for longer periods of time you will find , bread is just bread , its not that big of a deal if you eat it or not . At least that's how i am. Every now and then I see someone eating a big juicy burger and think " gee that looks good to be able to eat a burger again like that " But that is about it . Im eating a very think California pizza Pizza right now . no issues. I dont really care to eat toast, buns, ect much anymore. everyone is different though . HTH Mindy

Measurements all out of whack.. clothes suck!

Yep that is how much i paid for them I would say an XL is about right I bought a L and im a 14 or so ? so that sounds about right . I would def. try them on though . I live in Texas too and as it warms up they dont make you too warm either. Let me know MIndy

Measurements all out of whack.. clothes suck!

I will say the trick to the barely there is the right size. But its long enough that i tuck it into my pants and it goes down to my hips and nearly covers all of my butt. I also like that is has an "area' For my boobs so my boobs dont get smashed. It holds me in well . Try on different sizes if one size should feel WAY too tight , that one is too small, then try on the nextsize down. Mindy

    Protien Drinks

I like Bolthouse Farms Protein Shakes , they are pre made, just grab and drink. You can get them in the produce section of your grocery store or walmart or walgreens. The only down side is they do have caffeine in them . But they are the only protein drinks i can tolerate since they are all natural and artifical sweetners give me migraines. So Its all i drink for protein shakes. Good luck . Others im sure will suggest other options. Mindy

    For those who have PCOS

JFran , check into your states high risk health pool . It is expensive but they will cover you basically regardless of any situation . I paid nearly $400 a month but that was with PCOS ( although i never had an issue w/ the PCOS ) they covered me due to my migraines, Band ect. The covereage is actually good the RX Coverage is usually REALLY Good. Here is a list of the states that have one , most of them do Health insurance risk pools -- state-sponsored programs for the medically uninsurable Mindy

Measurements all out of whack.. clothes suck!

I see what your saying i think you might have the same issue i have. for instance i COULD wear a size 12 top but i Have to wear a size 14 top because my excess skin around my stomach is so bad . If i wear the right size shirt my muffin top shows ( no matter what size pants i have on ) SO I have found a solution . A tummy slimmer . I got mine at Jc Penny's it stays in place and tucks into my pants so it does not roll up . I tried the spanx kind but they roll up if i get the under wear type . Breathe by Barely There™ Shaping Cami Shapewear - Barely There Shapewear If this is not the right issue for you sorry . This is an issue i had and this helps a lot, I had someone ask me the other day if I had my tummy tuck already LMAO HTH Mindy

    First Week Weightloss

I think i lost around 8the first week post op , it slows down . If your worried about it i would ask your doc. Trust me it wont stay that way LOL Not much you can do about it now . But you should be ok . I have heard of people loosing quite a bit the first week or so and then they wont lose anything for 4 weeks. It all sort of even outs in the end. I lost 20 lbs one month ! That was too much for my skin to handle in my arms , they are not flabby because of that. That's not typical . So again anytime your worried about ANYTHING call your doc. Trust Me they are use to it and that is what you pay them for Mindy
