First your right do not compare yourself to others. Second are you tracking what your eating ? you might not be eating ENOUGH. I KNOW your thinking WHAT ? But its true , I had the same issue right after being banded and my first fill. I went to see my nutrionist and we figured out i was not eating ENOUGH . I was eating WELL below 1000 cals a day . If i get below that even now I wont lose . Try tracking what you eat on Free Diet Plans at SparkPeople for a few weeks even a week and see what you come up with . Also are you walking ? HTH Mindy

If you have health care now I would stick with it. Most private label insurances do NOT cover the band. If the UHC Plan you have does not EXCLUDE the band keep trying with them . they expect you to give up . If its not an exclusion in the policy then something in the paper work is probably not right . What was the reason for the denial ? If you have seen ANYONE for the band it will be preexisting most likely and private insurances will either exclude it or make you wait a yr. I own my own business and NOW can not get ANY Insurance due to being banded. I have to go through the Texas high Risk health pool and pay $400 a month for JUST ME ! So if you have a group plan you might be better off sticking with it. I could not find anyone that covered the band private insurance wise !! HTH Mindy

Have you called your band doc ? How do you get fills ? If you go to someone in the US for fills I would call them . It sounds like you are either too tight or you have acide reflux going on . When was your last fill ? Either way you need to call your doc any doc Mindy

I use to work for a medical malpractice attorney . I was the one that went through medical records "looking" for things that were wrong . If you feel your doc is in the wrong I would suggest you speak to a GOOD Mal Practice attorney . Ask around . See if anyone know's of any good one's. A GOOD Mal Practice Attorney will tell you if you have a case , if the doctor did something wrong . HTH mindy

Huggie, Do you have Good Running Shoes ? I was having hip pain at first then went and got really GOOD Shoes and it helped me a lot ! Have you spoken to your doc about the shin pain just to make sure things are ok ? I hope you feel better soon i dont have much help in this area maybe some of the others do . I am on day 2 Monday !! This is where the research key ! Sometimes people pick a doc then come on here and find things they find unsettling to them . Thats why its important to research !! Also just because a doc does not have anything bad posted about them does not necessarily mean they are good . By that i i mean a doc could be new and have NOTHING posted about them , does not mean they are "good" . Know what i mean ? Again research is the key ! Mindy

We all love the Wii. My husband HATES video games and plays the Wii. My youngest probably plays it the most he's 7 and he plays Guitar Hero every day . which by the way is a BLAST I even got into that. We also love Tiger Woods Golf. My Dad has probbaly never played a game in his life comes over and we play Tiger Woods golf. I have a 16 yr old sister and she brings her friends over about once a week so they can play it . It really is cool ! The sport games is probably what we play the most of . The kids love them and Guitar hero we have 2 guitars so we can "Battle" LOL Mindy

Well since i got pnemonia in Feb I have done NOTHING ! I have just not been motivated. I need to move. im 30 pds from goal and I would like to get there by July But im not going to at this rate. I use to do this too . The trick is to TRY to not let yourself go so long between meals that your THAT hungry . If you can help it . If you cant and you have to wait to eat then make sure you cut your food up into little bites. I dont eat anything i cant SEE before i put in my mouth . in other words ... I HAMBURGER I would NEVER pick it up and just bite into it , cant tell how big of a bit your getting. I could take it and cut it up first. HTH Mindy

Just an FYI something to think about , If you are on a group health insurance plan , i dont know about your state but In TX where I live I cant GET private Health insurance now because of the band . We are self employed , I also looked at plans to cover the band and they are not out there as far as i know . NOW that im banded NO ONE WILL TOUCH Me except the high risk health pool offered by the state of Texas and I pay $400 a month for JUST ME . So if you have a group plan it would be a good idea to stay on it . There are places that finanance. I got mine financed through medicredit.com CareCredit Patient Financing Payment Plans for LASIK, cosmetic procedures, dental, hearing care, vet procedure financing and more. Cosmetic Surgery, Dental Procedures, Vision Costs and more: Healthcare Financing Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Also if you can get a loan from your bank , they interest rates would be lower. do a search for "self pay " Or financing and it will bring up a ton of threads HTH Mindy

Thank you Dr ... These were all things the doctor went over in the seminar . I am still suprised that the % of silicone is so high . I dont hear many people saying they have saline ? Nearly everyone i know has or says they have saline . So i was suprised that the doc said 85 % of his is Silicone . But I do like the look and feel of silicone better. I never have believed the hype( from them being pulled off the market before ) over silicone and the so it was never a concern for me getting them . Thanks for your input Mindy

As dumb as it sounds I have found its true. the Barometric pressure affects my band. The BP also affects my migraines. So if your a person that weather affects your body , allergies , ect. chances are the BP might affect your band. there are a few websites you can go to check the BP but i have a barometer in my house, I as well as other bandsters have found that any BP before 29 seems to make us tighter. Above that we are pretty good ! HTH Mindy

Yeah my Kids tell me too , at first I did not notice it , But now i do , I keep breathe spray in my purse now. Im paranoid about now . I always think my breathe stinks now . Mindy
