I am a candidate for the surgery according to my doctors who have supported the program. I have tried many times over to diet, but I am on prednisone and will be on a low dose for the rest of my life.  I go to the gym 4 days a week and have tried many diets.  As of today BCBS of Illinois has refused to cover the procedure.  I am diabetic, have high blood pressure, acid reflux and sleep apnea.  I am really encouraged reading the stories on this website and have renewed energy to become even more persistent with the insurance company.
