    November Bandsters!

Congratulations Janey! Do the best you can not to throw up. Sip, and take it one step at a time. Try to get in as much water as you can. That may help a little to encourage a bowel movement. Have you tried taking milk of magnesia? It may help to make it easier for you.

FullofGrace, Don't you worry, dear! It's all going to be just fine, and easier than you thought. My surgery was last Thursday, and I was nervous too, but afterwards, I was so surprised at how easy it really was. Let us know how you're doing as soon as you are able. God Bless You!

    November Bandsters!

Not to worry! You won't need him. You'll be surprised at how easy this surgery is once you do it. It's not going to keep you in bed or unable to move around on your own.

    November Bandsters!

It's a scarey time, I can't lie about it. I was banded last Thursday, and I was afraid on the way to the hospital, but I was fine once I got there. For him, he won't be able to breath a sigh of relief until you're out of surgery, but trust me, you'll be surprised at how simple this surgery is. Please don't worry. It will all be fine.

    November Bandsters!

If you can take a laxative to clear your bowels, do so. You don't want to have to strain after the surgery. It really helps to be able to go with relative ease. I guess the dry mouth is temporary. I don't know if it's because I can't drink a whole lot, but it gets better daily. Expect to be nervous, but it really is not a difficult surgery. I was really afraid of the unknown, but after having gone through with it, I came out surprised that it wasn't as bad as I had thought it would be. Expect the gas pains. That is the worst part, but move around to help expel the gas. Best wishes to you on a safe and speedy surgery!!

    November Bandsters!

Congratulations!! :clap2: The nervousness is very normal. It's really not a big deal. I was banded last Thursday, and I was nervous and afraid, but when I got to the hospital I was ok. I came out of the surgery really glad I had done it. Get ready for the gas. That part is the most uncomfortable. For me, the pain from the incisions was over in a matter of two days. I've been off the pain medication since Saturday. Just be prepared to walk around and move your arms to help with the gas pain. I'm 4 days out, and I feel really good! I'm already down 9 lbs, so I think I'm doing well. I wish you a safe and speedy recovery! You will do well!

    November Bandsters!

Yes, I'm going to change my title now! Weee! The surgery was easy and I was surprised by that. The most difficult part is the gas! Please, walk around to get it moving. I don't have pain from the incisions and am already off the pain medication. It's just the gas that I'm still having to get rid of. So far I've already lost 8 lbs since Thursday's surgery 3 days ago. Not bad! My mouth is dry, that's about it. I'm happy to be banbed, and am just praying that this tool works well for me in the long run. Best wishes to those whose turn is coming up this month! May your time be as easy as mine was, or easier, if that's even possible!! :biggrin1:

So...I am going for my consultation.

Thank-you! I've started dieting in anticipation that when I meet the Doctor, she'll see that I got a head start on my weight loss. I went into her office last week and had a nurse weigh me and document it. I'm a slow loser, and figured I'd start early. LOL!

So...I am going for my consultation.

Congratulations! I don't know what the nurse meant, but I doubt they will recommend you for gastric bypass if they may think you're not heavy enough for the lap band. Keep us posted! I have my first consultation on September 15, and I can't wait for that date to get here.

Banded in Mexico but need fill Dr in Boston

Hi Linda, Have you tried contacting some of the hospitals? Brigham and Women's, Beth Isreal Hospital, and Faulkner Hospital are just a few of the Boston hospitals that perform this type of surgery. You can try to call them and see if any of them would be willing to take you on. Best of luck. :scared:
