You Don't Know it....BUT.....we're all about to be great friends!!!
rinachick replied to Neener's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sorry it took so long to get back on here guys. School has been killing me lately. First, let me say that I started out with a lot of weight to lose, which I think influences how fast you lose. In the moring, I normally have yogert for breakfast. For lunch, I have lunchemeat and cottage cheese or fish and cottage chesse (or leftover dinner from the night before). Dinner, I eat with my family, I have just switched to healthier recipes. For example, tonight we are having individual pizzas made with low carb tortillas, canadian bacon, mushrooms, and feta cheese. I eat a cup or less of food at each meal. (my dr says as long as it's not over a cup you are fine). I drink either water or poweraide zero, because I do have trouble getting the amount of water I need in so the electrolites in the poweraide zero help. I hit the gym five days a week, 3 weight training sessions for 30min and 2cardio sessions at 45 min. This is from the person who used to hate grocery shopping because it involved too much walking!LOL. I follow my Dr rules, and if I need a snack, I have something high protein. This might not work for everyone but it works for me! Oh, and sorry for the spelling mistakes! -

Hi guys. I am not quite 30 yet, but am almost there. I got banded on 08/11/09 and after today's weigh in at the dr office (yeah on a saturday, my doc is currently working at our clinic and a hospital, so I go when he can fit me into his schedule) I have lost 62 pounds and am 7 away from the first mini goal I set for myself. Getting the band is the best decision I have ever made, for me and my family. I have 2 daughters ages 9 and 3, and a wonderful husband that I have been married to for ten years. Just wish I would have done this sooner! -
I have read the never ending period stories on here, but didn't think it would happen to me because I am on the depo shot. Even when I was at a lower weight, the shot stopped my periods, which I loved because I always had very heavy ones. All of a sudden, I started at it has lasted 2 weeks and counting!!! I have gone through four boxes of tampons! I think I will need to buy stock in Kotex if this goes on any longer to get some of my money back.LOL.

This has probably already been asked, but I couldn't find it. Is it normal to have port pain after a fill? I had my first fill on Thursday and where my port is hurts. Also, as with any injection site, there is a little redness around the area where the needle went in. I figured this was normal, but now with the pain I am not really sure. Thanks ahead of time for the answers everybody!

My starting BMI was 65. I am 5'1 and used to weigh 369. My doctor had no problems with me getting the band. I had surgery on August 11 and am now down to 324. Seems to be working for me!!

At what point did you start getting excited about your weight loss?
rinachick replied to HolliJ's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm not excited yet. I think I might be when I hit my first goal (which is to get under 300). I still can't notice right now though. Anyone else have this problem? -
:thumbup:Hi everyone! My name is Sabrina, and I am 29 years old. I was banded Aug. 11 at Weight Loss Surgical Center in Overland Park Kansas (about 4 hours away from my home in Ava, Mo.) I am a stay at home mom with two wonderful girls, ages 9 and 3, and a wonderful husband. My weight was 369 and I am 5' 1. I am happy to say I am now down to 326. My eye opener came almost two years ago when my mom(who was my best friend) passed away at the age of 45. We did everything together, even shared each others clothes. I decided that I was going to see my youngest graduate high school, and started dieting. It didn't work, so I came up with this life change, and I really think it was the right decision for me!

The only thing that I have noticed is that I now have 2 chins instead of 3. I am kind of bummed because it seems like I have lost a lot of weight not to be able to tell, but I guess when you start out as larage as I am it takes a lot of loss to notice. My clothes fit a little better, too.

I got banded on August 11 and everything is going great band wise. I feel a little silly asking this, but how did you guys get the glue from the band aids off? It hurts to scrub, so does anyone have any ideas?

Talk to your surgeon to make sure, but I was just banded on Aug 11 (yea) in KC and went home to Ava the next day. It was about a four hour trip, and I made sure to stop and walk about three times and I braced myself with a pillow all the way, but the trip wasn't too bad.
