  1. I got some antibiotics as the doc thinks it's a sinus infection coming on. He's good to be helping me beat this. Hoping to get another good night's sleep. Can't believe only 3 more sleeps! I've been listing out a weekly planner for my husband.
  2. I wish I had a class like that as well. But I think I meet with my NUT 6 weeks post op and she'll go over that kind of stuff (hope so!). Well last night I wasn't feeling great, achy, cold, tired, etc. I went to bed super early and I woke up today feeling like I have a cold and my ear are all plugged. This cannot have an impact on my surgery!!!! I cannot reschedule again, I'd lose it. Urgh. I think I might stop by the doc to have him look at my ears. I had an ear infection about 3 weeks ago. If he can give me antbx now it would be great. Surgery is Monday.
  3. Got final final approval. 2/3 it is. Now the real panic starts. :-)
  4. Had my pre-op #2 today. Got a little nervous hearing him explain all the complications. I know the %'s are low, it's just scary. My doc has done over 4000 bypasses, so I have trust in him at least. Just hoping I'm not one of the fluke cases that goes wrong. Having some wine to calm my nerves. Going to be a long time before I'll be having wine again. Less than a week now!
  5. So sorry to you that have had a change in date. Although it's just 2 weeks, I understand the frustration! It takes a lot of time to plan for a surgery like this from work, kids, personal stuff, help, etc. Sucks to go through, but like the others said, will be worth it in the long run. I was scheduled to have surgery last Tuesday and found on the day before that it wasn't happening. I'm now scheduled for 2/3 and still waiting for final confirmation. Meet with me doc tomorrow morning for pre-op so hopefully they can say all is ok for sure!
  6. How many of you had your gallbladder removed during surgery. I had an u/s done last week and all looks fine with my gallbladder so we are keeping it in. I'm new to the bypass world (was supposed to have a sleeve done on Tuesday and it got canceled last minute and now moved to bypass 2/3) and wonder what others did. Thanks
  7. I guess I'm one of the first up on 2/3. Anyone with me?

    February Surgeries

Anyone else not have a pre-op diet? My surgery is 2/3.
  9. Hi everyone Hope you don't mind me jumping in. I'm a February 2014 surgery (2/3) and I'm wondering from you all, what 3 things you would tell yourself 11 months ago now that you've BTDT. Thanks
  10. Can I join you all? I have a date of 2/3. I was actually supposed to have the sleeve surgery yesterday, but at the last minute (literally), insurance said it wasn't covered, even though they approved it. So we are switching to the bypass. I'm nervous as I haven't done as much research on the bypass and had my mind set on the sleeve. So technically I'm still deciding for sure even though I have a date.
  11. I was approved for the sleeve last month and my surgery is actually scheduled for Tuesday. However I got a call from Cigna on Friday afternoon at 4:30 (lovely timing) saying that although they approved it, that particular code for the sleeve was excluded per my plan. They are saying it won't be covered now. I'm going to have my docs office call first thing Monday, but I'm thinking if there is no budge on the sleeve coverage, maybe they could switch to bypass and I could have that done Tuesday instead? I believe it's all the same WLS requirements and I know my plan cover bypass for sure. Anyone else go through this and got a switch quickly? I'm freaking out and devastated after all this time and planning it may not happen.
  12. I'm still on the other side (surgery 1/21) but wondering for those of you who work in an office environment, how you handled it. I'm particularly nervous about eating in front of people. I've eaten with my group for years and so to all of a sudden be eating significantly less, I'm just worried about the questions I'll get. Plus the quick weight loss (hoping for) is another area where I feel people are going to ask or at least really wonder. I do not want to say anything. Not even sure how to explain my week off! Thanks for any advice. Kim

    January 2014 Sleevers Come In!

Saying goodbye. Going to drop the group as I'm officially not going to be sleeved. Not sure how this all happened, but insurance won't cover the sleeve now. I'm debating bypass, but have a couple of weeks to decide. Wish you all the best on your journeys to the new healthy you! It was fun while it lasted.
