I haven't blogged forever. Been so busy with work since the school year started. So, I am about 2 months post op. I've lost about 42 lbs which varies by day because of this wonderful weight fluctuation thing I've discovered that I have. Anyone else have this it's sooo frustrating? Anyways, went for my first fill this week. Dr. only put .6cc's in my something like 975 band???? It was empty before and I guess it holds up to 4 cc's. I guess it's the smallest band you can get because my stomach is supposedly small which I can't believe considering how much I was able to eat in the past. I'm already ready to call and get at least .8 or 1cc in it because I just don't think I'm getting quite enough restriction. We'll see what the Dr. says. I've been trying out new classes at the gym aside from water aerobics which I love but have also been doing Zumba which I also love. Would like to try this Step and Abs class and Belly Dancing too. We shall see. I ate some thin crust pizza tonight. I know I shouldn't have but was craving it so badly esp. after being on liquids for 3 days after my fill. That's all for now. Hope everyone is doing well with their journey! Have a great weekend.

I can't give you any advice on fills because I'm a little over 3 weeks post op and haven't had one yet. However, I was told to shoot for 110 grams of protein although I know the dietician said I need more because I'm younger (25). I actually sometimes get more and asked my dietician if that was okay. She said yes, as long as I don't have kidney problems. She recommended 1200-1400 calories and 30-40 grams of fat each day and I believe that is pretty standard.

My dietician recommended Myogenix...Myolean Evolution. I have strawberry and choc. I prefer the choc. She told me I can add things to it as well such as strawberries, bananas, milk, yogurt, etc. I add milk, choc., and strawberries to mine and some ice to make it more like a shake. There are several other flavors. There's a choc. peanut butter one that was recommended to me that I would like to try. I hope this helps.

I've had the scale vary like that as well. It's so strange. One day it's up the next its down. I'm like maybe it's the scale but it's brand new. It's frustrating at times. I too just started my period and am avoiding the scale cuz I know I always gain weight at this time. I'm sure that's what your 1lb gain is about. Gotta love being a woman! Best of luck to you.

That's def. not right of your family to be so critical. It was YOUR choice to have the surgery. It is YOUR choice what you eat and it is YOUR body. That's terrific you lost so much weight, keep up the hard work! As long as you're still losing then keep doing what you're doing. As for coworkers, that's a hard one. I just started back to work and am having some difficulty with it. If ppl around me are eating things I want but can't have sometimes I remove myself from the area or situation if I can. I've also gone out to eat with them but am still very cautious. I ask for a nutrition contents menu and order something healthy. Just because you go out to eat doesn't mean you're eating bad foods, maybe explain that to your family. I know I got along a lot better with my family after I moved out, maybe you should make that an option if you're able. I hope this helps. Best of luck to you!

I had the same problem with the scale getting stuck. The dr. recommended milk of magnesia for me. The regular kind tastes gross so I just bought some of the cherry, but it works great and no cramping. I think the constipation played a role in my weight as well.

Hello fellow banders! I am almost 3 weeks post op, 20 days to be exact. I'm a teacher and today was our 2nd day back to school, my first day was last Wed. but the students have been back for 2 days and I'm exhausted. Not because of the surgery but because I'm having trouble transitioning from my summer to school schedule. Anyways, last week I went to my first post op appt. The surgeon was pleased with how things are going and was happy that my incisions healed so fast. I got him to clear me early to swim. So last week I started aqua challenge and aqua circuit classes, kinda like water aerobics, and I love it! It's 3 days a week. I'm going to try to swim at home on my off days, but haven't yet. I have a bad back so swimming is best for me. Today was my first day on the soft diet, yay no more purees! The last time I checked I lost 22lbs. I haven't weighed myself in a couple of days because it is, well sorry men...ladies can relate, my time of the month and I don't know about the rest of you but I just feel so bloated and fat during this time. The thought of getting on the scale makes me want to vomit. lol Not really.:tongue_smilie:I'm still doing well at counting calories, fat, protein. I'm allowed 1200-1400 cal, 30-40 grams of fat, and am supposed to shoot for 110 grams of protein. It's def harder when you start eating regular foods. I'm finding it difficult not to drink during or right after meals. I sneak in a sip here and there I just can't help it! It's also hard to eat slow. I used to be a fast eater apparently. I'm still trying to get my protein shakes in. I'm starting to not like them and I'm supposed to have 3-4 cups/days and that would take up so many calories. Well that's all for now. I hope everyone is doing well in their journey.

Wow, were they not giving you regulin in the hospital? They were giving it to me every 6 hrs I think and I was asking for it the min. I was due because it really helped me.

It's supposed to be 3-4 weeks, but my surgeon said whenever it was comfortable. My bf and I didn't even wait a week. lol
-
My bf wasn't excited about it, but he said he would support my decision with whatever I wanted to do. He said he would love me if I weighed 600 lbs which I can't imagine. I however didn't care whether he did or not because ultimately it is my decision and this decision is for ME! Not to sound selfish, but you have to do this for you...if you feel that it is right for you. Males are in general bad with communication. He prob just wants to agree with you and avoid an argument.

Ugh, school. My school starts Wed. I'm unforntunately not excited for the new year. Since budget cuts teachers have been laid off so we are short staffed. Take snacks for the meetings. I'm planning to. My dietician said that once I start working I can eat every 2-3 hours instead of every half an hour. I was concerned having to eat that often at work because I knew I wouldn't be able to, but every 2-3 hrs is more reasonable.
