    Did you look pregnant?

I got pregnant at 234 lbs, and I carry a lot of weight in my stomach. I didn't really feel like I was "showing" until 18 weeks or so even though I was wearing maternity pants way before that (they're just more comfy!). I found that wearing maternity shirts made me look and feel more pregnant than fat -- it just made me feel better about going out in public. I'm 27 weeks now, and I've definitely popped out a bit more in front, so I would definitely say I look pregnant.
  2. I had my heart set on a crib/dresser/armoir set I saw, but DH thought $1200 was too much. I thought it was a fantastic deal considering it was solid wood, dove-tailed drawers, really good quality. We'd never have to buy our kid furniture again because it definitely did not look baby-ish and the crib converts. Well, he was not to be convinced, so our new plan is a set from Ikea. Crib, changing table with cabinet underneat, and armoir for a mere $500. I've heard good things about their crib quality, so I'm hoping I'm not turned off by the rest of the stuff when we finally get around to checking it out. Oh yeah, and we hate white furniture too! :tongue2:

    OV Watch..

    Good luck to you!

    OV Watch..

It took me 9 months to get pregnant, but I don't blame that on the monitor. We used it for about 6 months, then I forgot the next two months. The third month, my OB decided I had PCOS, put me on metformin, three weeks later, I was pregnant! I feel like if I had been on the metformin earlier, it may not have taken so long. The monitor is great though -- very easy to use. We'll use it again for #2 when the time comes.

    OV Watch..

Never heard of that, but we used the Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor. I got it off ebay for about 1/2 what it retails.
  6. Another update here... I'm 26 weeks along, and I've officially gained 14 lbs. Not bad.

    Delivery and a band

That must be just a weird coincidence, because like the previous poster said, the band does not limit your delivery options. I plan on having a vaginal birth, unless of course something comes up later. You never know!

    Anyone here?

Aw Jen, I'm so sorry you are having to go through all that. Please take care of yourself and just know that, band or bypass, we are all rooting for you! Maria

    Anyone here?

It's me again, checking in. I'm 25 weeks pregnant now, and I'm up 14lbs. I have to say, one thing I did not expect was this whole gaining weight head game. I try not to weigh myself at home too much, because that number I see just takes me back to less happier days, and that is SO not what being pregnant is all about, ya know? It's hard though. I just keep working on eating right and keeping up with my walking, and as long as I know I'm doing what I need to do for the health of the baby, then everything will be fine. Hope everyone else is doing well!
  10. The band itself won't stretch, but you can dilate your pouch/esophagus by stuffing. I got a small unfill right after I got pregnant. It was necessary -- I was so so tight. BUT, I am still able to eat bread, Pasta, etc. And yes, I feel like crap about it. I'm trying to cut back on that kind of stuff and go back to more of the bandster rules, but those preggo cravings kick in something fierce!

    Sugar Test

I had the one-hour and the three-hour glucose tolerance test, and everything was fine. I actually have to repeat it in a few weeks (they checked me early because I am insulin resistant normally).
  12. I can't keep track of all us preggos in the big thread, so here's another way to see where we all are. Name: How far along: Due Date: Boy/Girl/Surprise: Rants: Raves: Anything else:
  13. Congrats on your pregnancy! And your 73 lb loss -- that is excellent! I am 24 weeks now and have only gained 11lbs. There's a couple gals here who actually lost quite a bit during their pregnancy. Hopefully your nausea will go away soon!

    Ultrasound today!

    Aww! A girl, yay! Congrats!
  15. So glad there were actually some peeps left to check in here! I figured all you new mommies would be busy, but I just KNEW there were still some preggos on here! Web - I actually live in Royal Oak, which is probably about 40 minutes or so from Canton. Best of luck with your surgery on Friday! How exciting!
  16. Where is everyone?
  17. Flouro pretty much means you are getting a fill aided by x-ray. I always thought it was pretty cool because my surgeon would show me the video of my barium swallow after each adjustment. To answer your other question, no, you do NOT have to get unfilled before conceiving. Every doctor is different though as far as recommendations once pregnant. If you look through some of the other threads here, you'll find some of us talking about our different experiences. For me, I got a small unfill early on only because I got really really tight and couldn't eat anything. I still have 1.3 ccs in a 4cc band. I'm 23 weeks along now and all is well. Good luck to you!
  18. I figured it had to be a tubing risk. I mean, the port itself has to be punctured to be accessed in the first place.
  19. My original surgeon was one of the only ones in my area that did all fills under flouro. My new guy doesn't at all. I think adjustments withOUT flouro are more the norm, so I can't imagine there is such a great risk. Plus, I don't really get how they can put a hole in the port. I mean, the port has a membrane that must be punctured by the needle to access it in the first place. Maybe he hit her tubing??
  20. Hey ladies! Just checking in to say hello. I'm 22 weeks now, and all is well so far. I go in to the OB again on Tuesday. I'm going every two weeks now because of blood pressure. Anyone else sleeping like crap? I had a most wretched night last night. Couldn't fall asleep, terrible headache. My head hurt so bad I almost called the dr, but my BP was fine, so I figured I should just wait it out. I managed to sleep on and off for a grand total of 4 hours. At least my headache is better today.
  21. Hey gang! I missed you all last night! I was the ONLY ONE who showed up for the meeting! I guess if the same thing happens in January, then the meetings are officially canceled. So, please come! Anyway, I would love to still have a regular get-together after our meeting run out (whether that is sooner or later). If you are interested, send me a private message with your contact info and I will work on organizing that when the time comes. Maria
  22. I had that happen to me, but no one ever said it was because of my belly fat (which, believe me, I have!). They tried to hear the heart beat with the doppler and my doc just said, "well baby's not being cooperative, let's go scan you really quick just to make sure everything is ok." Never one word about my belly. The first u/s I had at 7 weeks was done vaginally. Again, no mention of fat. I had the impression that this was just how it is done. All my friends at work who are pregnant said the same thing and they are all fairly slender. That really sucks that they made you feel bad.
  23. Just curious... Are there any other pregnancy forums you all visit? I've checked out a few, but haven't found any I love. So far, the only other one I post on is the Plus Sized and Pregnant Board at pregnancy.org. The last thing I need is another internet-related time-suck, but I just can't help myself!
  24. Jodie, big hugs and congratulations to you! What a day! :frown:
