I'm here! And still miserable. I now have a sinus infection -- a horrible one. I saw my band doc yesterday. He agreed that it would be rushing it to go in for my gallbladder just now. He backed off my fill a bit, and doubled my omeprazole. I go back in 4 weeks for a check up. Unfortunately, the unfill hasn't seemed to do much. I still can't eat much. I tried salad today -- ate about 3 bites, gave up, and gurgled for two hours. I was even afraid to drink anything after that. I'm just so frustrated. Sula -- I'm so bad about water too. I'm trying to track everything at myfitnesspal.com, and it's really hitting home how little hydration I'm getting. Heck, maybe that's the answer to all my problems!
-
Sula - The surgeon said he didn't want to take it out now because it's "not affecting my daily life." Well, I might argue that one. I'm going to be getting a second opinion. I think the gastritis is making my stoma smaller, so perhaps a small unfill is in order. I've thrown up a few times lately -- once so badly I got petechia around my eyes. Scary!

Hey girls! Well, I'm happy to report I'm down to 226! BUT, that is mostly because of all my GI troubles. The surgeon decided it was too soon to take out my gall bladder, but I wonder about that. I'm nothaving horrible attacks, but I do have horrible gastritis that I think is making my band seem tighter than it is. So, I've been living on liquids and mushies for the past few weeks. I go see my band guy next week -- I'm going to get his opinion on the gall bladder since he also does general surgery. No exercise for me yet. I'm trying! T - sorry to hear about your MIL! I hope she's doing better soon!
-
They never actually said what causes them, but they did tell me to stay hydrated (of course, something I struggle with). I have my surgery consult this morning, so I'll check in again later.

Hey guys!! It's so interesting to come back here and find you all talking about gastric problems... cuz that's where I've been these last few weeks! I ended up a couple days in the hospital with abdominal pain. After a bunch of testing, I found I have a diseased gallbladder (coming out soon), stomach polyps (removed, benign), ulcers in my esophagus (not Barretts thank God), and mild gastritis. Oh yeah, and two small kidney stones. All I have to say is this is the wake-up call I've been needing to get my crap together. I've only lost another two pounds. Eep! I'm glad to see there's still some action here. I feel like I've been away forever. Maria

Hi to Edie, Susie, and Bandana! Great to hear from you all! I have excellent restriction right now. For awhile, I thought I was too tight, but then I realized I was eating about 1/2 cup of food at a time, and that's what I was always told I should aim for. So here I am! It is still so hard to get my head around that. It just seems like nothing! But, I'm full, so I can't complain. Weight is creeping off slowly -- I'm having a hard time fitting in exercise. This week I'm devoting myself to setting up a resistance training workout for when I'm at home with the baby. I have bands, dumbbells, and a step, so this should be no problem at all! I just have to do it! Bandana - It's been two years, and I still have a hard time remembering to slow down when eating. I have gotten myself in trouble many a time when I throw down those first few bites too fast. Ugh, I hate it.

I hate insurance companies. You are so right about that. As for the rest of the gang, I'm sure it's a combo of all those things. I think if they were looking for us, we would've seen posts in the old thread. Plus, it's not THAT hard to find this folder. I don't know. It's too bad more people haven't stuck around. If you think we should let it go, I can go along with that. I don't really feel too strongly either way.
-
I wonder if we'd just have to PM them all... that would at least go to their email, if they have it set up like that. Maybe we could split up the list between the three of us? The original list should still be at the top of our old thread (I hope!). So, did you take the horse up to the insurance place?

I was just thinking the same thing. I am so excited for them -- I almost feel like jumping in for some extra motivation! My cold is finally gone. Did I tell you guys I actually had to get an unfill because of it? I haven't lost anymore, but didn't gain over the holidays either. I'll count that as a success. DH is finally on the weight-loss bandwagon with me, and I get another fill on Wednesday. Yay!
-
Ooooh, a spa weekend does sound nice! Well, I got my drugs and I'm feeling better. Unfortunately, I let myself get so sick that I needed a small emergency unfill. My band got so tight I was barely keeping down liquids. The good news is I get filled again the first week of January, and I have somehow managed to lose eight pounds! Yay! I really feel like I'm going to make it happen!
-
I'm here! And still sick. It's a sinus infection, and I should really go get some antibiotics, but I just haven't had time. Isn't that horrible to say? DH keeps getting pissed off that I'm skipping the gym, but I just feel like that it going to run me down even more. On the upside, I lost 2lbs this week! Whee!
-
I'm here! Trying to get rid of a nasty cold. It was so bad that I didn't work out at all this week yet. I just couldn't be that person sneezing and hacking on the treadmill. So gross, ya know? Anyway, I'll be going tomorrow night as long as I feel ok. It's hard to kick a cold when you're barely getting any sleep. When DH was sick, I took the baby to my mom's house so he could rest up. You think he might give me a break by getting up with her? No. Someone needs a kick in the arse!

Oh no! I hope everything goes well with your surgery Tonya! Let's all (ha, the 3 of us) make a pact to keep checking in here and we'll help you stay on track post-surgery. Going to the gym this past week felt so good. I can tell I'm very deconditioned unfortunately, but I guess that's what no exercise for six months will do for you! The gym has this awesome lifefitness equipment with personal tv sets and ipod chargers and even a usb connection, so you can save your workouts on a flash drive. Isn't that nuts? I'm enjoying it, and that's all that matters. I also joined a weight loss challenge at work. It was ten bucks in the pot to join, and it runs till June. I could easily slay this if I really put my mind to it. I was hesitant to join because of my band, but a couple other gals talked me into it, saying it didn't matter. I've already decided that if I do win, I'm going to use the money to buy something for the other participants... maybe a lunch or something. I know there would be someone carping about me "cheating", so I'll just have to nip that in the bud! I'm off... Elena is getting baptised today

I think a lot of it is just being at home with the baby and getting bored. I started back to work yesterday, and I joined a gym, so I think things will start falling back into place for me. I have a really good fill level, so I know it's now that. In fact, I barfed at lunch yesterday. We take lunch at noon, and it's just too early for me. I need to stick to soup and then have a granola bar and some string cheese later in the afternoon when I have a break. Luckily, I got away with it without any of my coworkers realizing. Ugh.

Happy Turkey Day ladies! I've been popping in, just not posting much. Oops! I don't know what is wrong with me, but I've been coping with food lately, so I'm not really losing. Maybe I do need another fill to keep me honest. I can't go again until January. T - great job with the exercise! I will be joining the gym next week, as I start back to work on Monday. Yikes!
-
What a cutie!! We are in the same boat :rolleyes2: I am coming up on my two-year anniversary in January with only 30-some pounds lost, so I'm also treating myself like a brand-new bandster. I don't know what it is, but the band rules seem to be coming easier to me now. Maybe it's that I have this little one to contend with so less time to eat and less time to think about eating? Who knows. Best of luck to you!

:smile2::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::crying: Yay!!! You go girl! Congratulations!

How exactly do you mix the peanut butter balls? I imagine it could be quite the workout if you just used a spoon. I bought the stuff to make them -- they sound delish!
-
198!!! That is so awesome!!! Would you guys mind posting what you eat for the last 3 days of the pouch diet? I'm just hoping to steal some ideas from you for next week. I got my fill today. I'm up to 1.5ccs. And I lost 2 lbs! Okay, so that's pretty bad for a month, but not so bad for not even trying!
-
Sounds like day one was a success! I have decided to wait until next week to do this. I have some social obligations this week with people who do not know about my band, and I don't feel like coming up with excuses about why I'm eating the way I'm eating. Anyway, Tonya -- I definitely can still throw up. There's lots of heaving and retching involved. It's not very pleasant. I managed to barf only once while preggo, and I'm vowing to never let it happen again!
-
Good idea! So, I'm a little frustrated. DH is totally coping with food right now (mostly new baby, lack of sleep type stress), and it's making me crazy! He keeps bringing more crap into the house, and while I'm hardly eating anything, the little I am eating is about 50% garbage! I know I am the only one who can be responsible for what goes in my mouth, but a little support would be nice! We talked about it a little last night. He wants to lose some more weight too (he lost about 25 over the summer), but I guess he's just not ready to get back on the wagon. I was really hoping we'd both be in that frame of mind at the same time. Oh well, guess I just have to push through it and ignore the junk food. On a more positive note, I am actually getting excited about going back to work because I get to join a gym! There was some talk of me becoming a SAHM, but I realized that I didn't want to have to scrimp and save as much as that would've required. Plus, I only work part-time, so I really get the best of both worlds. I'm looking at Fitness 19 and Anytime Fitness. Any of you belong to either of those? I'd love to hear some opinions. Anytime Fitness will work out a little cheaper in the long run, and they have group fitness classes, so I'm leaning that way. They both are right on my way home from work and both within two miles of my house. I can't wait!

any word from Wheetsin?

Congrats Wheetsin! Avery is beautiful! -
I'd love to join you guys. I need to do this badly. Unfortunately, I have a fill appt on Wednesday, so I think the timing will be a little off. Can you guys point me to the info so I can look into it a little? Maybe I will start it on Wednesday. I'm so embarrassed to go back to the dr because I've gained two pounds. Ugh. The good news is, I go back to work in 3 weeks, and I'll be able to go to the gym after work on my way to pick up the bambina.

Just had to pop in and say... how many times are they going to redesign this site? I hardly recognized it!

So so true!! I am so careful about my complaining (even to my hubby) because it usually can be traced back to something dumb like this where I KNOW BETTER!! And it always cracks me up when people get all pissed off when they don't get the responses they want, ya know? People here aren't going to sugar-coat; they're going to bring on the tough love! Anyway, I'm glad I'm going for another fill in two weeks. I have some restriction, but not enough to make me really pay attention. I need to get my head back in the game. I'm actually looking forward to going back to work in December because I'll be able to fit in some gym time on the way home! It's hard to exercise with a newborn, but I'm trying not to fall into "excuses" mode.
