<!-- google_ad_section_end --><!-- / message --><!-- sig --> My sentiments exactly! We cleaned out our basement today, well one corner of it anyway. I vacuumed all the cobwebs, wiped down shelving and my treadmill. Finally got the TV and DVD player working again, so now I have ZERO excuse for not getting down there and doing something. The plan is to pop a movie in and try to walk for at least 45 minutes to an hour 3 days a week and work up from there. I also bought one of those "Transfirmer" things last winter, and I want to do that at least 2 days. I think that's a good start for now. Sometimes I get overwhelmed with thinking I have to do a ton, when the truth is you just have to START!

Just filled-Trouble drinking
juno610 replied to dotterp's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yes. Call your doctor! -
Hi there! Just wanted to wish you luck! Where are you having your surgery done? Don't forget to pop in and let us know how everything goes!
-
Hi Carol! Welcome to our little group! How has everything been going for you? I forget who is in charge these days, but I'm sure someone will add you to our list soon.

That's the thing too! I would get up and reheat, but then it would be too dry!

I'm here! Not much to report. Has anyone ever noticed that you take so long to eat something that it eventually goes cold and is no longer appetizing? I was trying to eat a chicken breast stuffed with cheddar and broccoli today, and I only managed about 4 bites before it was gross and cold. I think this is why is pisses me off to cook anymore. It just doesn't seem worth the $$ for this stuff when I can only manage a few bites and I can't do leftovers because the meat is too dry! ARG!! Hope y'all had a good Friday!

They are all online bookmark sites, to put it simply. The only one I've personally used is del.icio.us. It is especially helpful when you are away from your home computer and want to save something. That way you don't have to email it to yourself or write it down or whatever.

Post Op -- Drinking with Meals.
juno610 replied to MissNilsa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What Terry said. Except my docs rules are stop 15 minutes before eating, and no drinking for 45-60 minutes after. It's hard sometimes, but I rarely even think about it now. -
Anyone able to eat cheese
juno610 replied to Jobstud's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love cheese too. I had no problem with string cheese during my mushie stage. -
Hello! Dr. Deol is my surgeon too! I'm over in Royal Oak. Love love love Dr. Deol. Keep in mind that the ready-to-drink Optifast is quite a bit more expensive than the kind you mix up yourself. I didn't really think it was worth it. Also, the chicken Soup is so good. That is what kept me sane during my 4 weeks of pre-op diet. Best of luck to you! Keep us posted on your progress! Maria

Question about the Girls! Men, Enter at your own risk!
juno610 replied to labgeek's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I hate to say it, but I have noticed the same thing. My left was always a hair bigger, and I notice it more now. Ah well... what can we do? -
Hi everyone! I've been offline for a little while, but boy do I need to be back here! I'm still on my plateau, but I did get another fill and I feel like I'm in a good spot. I'm still struggling with exercise, but seeing Tonya's pics really makes me feel motivated! I have a support group meeting tonight -- thank God. They always seem to roll around just when I need a little nudge back on track. You all have been doing great! It took me forever to catch up on these posts! I gotta get here everyday to keep up with everything!
-
Chris you are doing great I totally understand about feeling like it's not enough, so to speak. In my case, I know it's just that I haven't been following the rules, haven't been consistent with exercise, so I know what I have to do to change. So hard to have those pep talks with yourself, ya know!? Keep at it, you will be fine!

That was me up until my last fill. It was very frustrating to never how eating would go each day. I can't explain it, but when I got my last fill that all went away and now I'm pretty consistent in my restriction. Remember that Fluid shifts in your body can also affect the tightness of your band. I notice a lot of difference during my period and if I haven't had enough Water to drink over a few days. Hang in there! Maria

Pregnant and Banded...come join me!
juno610 replied to raynie's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I'm not preggo yet, but we are TTC right now. I asked on the suggestion forum for a Pregnant Bandster forum, but no response as of yet. It's too bad, but I guess our own thread will do for now. Congrats to those currently pregnant and good luck to everyone else! -
What's the difference between PBing and Vomiting?
juno610 replied to mypov's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
To me, the only difference is the absence of digestive juices. The mechanism and force are the same. Therefore, if I PB, I count it as vomiting -- it sure as hell feels like it! -
My doc said 45-60 minutes. I agree with FarmerE -- it's just one of those things that is different for everyone. I also agree with the other posters though -- the longer you wait to drink, the longer you'll stay full. Seems logical!

It's so good to hear from everbody! I miss all the camaraderie on here. It really makes all the difference to be able to talk with people who've had the same experiences. That's why I go to my support group meeting every month. I'm also super lucky enough to have a friend who is banded also. Anyhoo, today I am going to the gym! Ok, so I said it, now I have to do it! I did go out yesterday and bought some new workout clothes, so I no longer have that excuse. I feel a little sheepish going back in since it's been so long, but I know no ones cares about that. Send positive motivating vibes my way! I'll report back later
-
Wow Tonya, that was a lot of work! I hope some of them come back and visit us! Thanks for doing that! I got another 4 mile walk in two days ago, and I mean to go again today. I need to start lifting weights again -- I really believe that is a big key for me. I'm kind of in that mindset though where I'm embarrassed to go to the gym because of my size (I know, hey dummy, you lost 40lbs!). It's silly, I admit, and maybe it is just a little leftover anxiety (I weaned off my Lexapro finally). I have been bummed out over my plateau. Hell, maybe I just need some new workout clothes! Maybe I'll pay Target a visit today. Thanks for reading my little rant here. I swear I don't know what to do with myself somedays...

Pregnant and banded? (or wannabe) a warning for you
juno610 replied to vluckey's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
OMG, what is the barf in the lung thing?!?! Good point you made though. I am TTC right now and I know my hormones already mess with my band around Aunt Flo time. God only knows how pregnancy hormones will affect it! -
I was told to call my doc immediately if I ever got a stomach virus. Same goes for morning sickness. Apparently, they will try an anti-emetic first, then unfill me if necessary. Everyone's surgeon is different.

How Do You Arrive at Goal Weight?
juno610 replied to poodlecamper's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
There's many different ways people come up with their goal weight. Sometimes it can be from a chart, sometimes it's just a number that the person and their doc feels would be right for them. Personally, I looked at a few charts, and thinking about my lowest weight and how I felt then, I came up with my goal number. Keep in mind that a goal weight can always change too. You might get down to a certain place and feel that's where you want to stay. Or you might get there and decide to lose 10 more. There's no right or wrong here. -
Hi Terry! Cognrats on the 40lbs! It seems for a few of us here that is where things start to slow down. So I had an awesome NSV last night! I went to a wedding, and I didn't feel like wearing nylons because it was so hot out. I put on my favorite pair of dress pants, not thinking about the fact that they were still technically "fat pant". Well, I was on the dance floor, and I noticed I had to keep hiking them up. It was so annoying that I gave up on the dancing. Later on, I went to the bathroom and discovered I could pull them down without unbuttoning! DH was laughing because I was so bummed I wouldn't be able to wear these pants again. He was like, hey, aren't you supposed to be glad that you're shrinking out of things?! He's right, of course.

Thanks Dee and Shawn! It'll be really fun to see what the next twenty looks like,eh? If I can find my super fast Christmas pics, I'll make a new comparison show. I know for a fact my uncle has some extraordinarily unflattering ones of me.

Hilarious! Congrats on getting noticed That would totally make my day too.
