Congrats young lady, keep us informed on how you are doing, ok...

Wow,, way to go JeepChick!!! You are in Korea?,, wow,and I have been complaining about it being cold here in Houston... Please keep us informed on how you are doing, I hope post op isn't as hard as dieting pre-op.. I am 6 days of preop diet, lost 13 lbs, but lacking any energy.. My Doc told me to have something every 2-3 hours to help keep my blood sugar consistant. Makes sense.... Hope your having a great weekend!

Cajun,, you have a very nice looking sleeve..thanks

Hang in there pre-op diet ladies. I am on day 6, have lost more weight than I thought I would. I think I had a lot of water build up. It do feel good to loose, but this diet is starving me. <1,000 calories a day, a lot of Unjury, water, jello, and broth. I got some powdered peanut butter yesterday to put in my vanilla Unjury for a change up. I am not suppose to put fruit in it on the pre-op diet. Any creative suggestions appreciated.

This was day four of my preop diet. I am on all liquids, except Jello, yougart. I have 18 more days to go.... I cheated today,, I was traveling, forgot to take some diet stuff with me, so I pulled into Mickey Ds and got a kids hamburger. I am suppose to be 800-1000 calories a day and max carbs around a 100. I did the math tonight and found I stayed within that, but I feel pretty guilty about the burger. PREOPDIET sux.

Getting sleeved Friday- Alvarez
loser replied to filodough's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Coopersmoma, I met Dr. Alvarez on Jan 4th and feel very comfortable with him doing my surgery. I took my partner with me, she was so against going to Mexico to have it done and wanted to pay the extra for me to have it done here in the US. But, after she met him and we left Mexico, I asked her what does she think,, and now she is all for me going to Mexico and have Dr. Alvarez do the surgery. I had concerns because it can be very hard to get her to change her mind. Finishing up my 3rd day preop diet,, days are going by really slow. Sleeve date is 2-1-10. Keep us posted and tell Dr. Alvarez I said hello.. Thoughts and prayers are with you Coopersmoma -
Hey loosing, Loser here.. lol. I started my preop diet on Monday. I have several different Protein shake mixes and like unjury the best. The choc and vanilla are great. My first day was ok, yesterday was rough, really wanted a hamburger, hotdog, something not sweet. My partner made me some homemade chicken broth, and that really took the edge off. I have lost 4 lbs since starting Monday... wow,, I may be to goal by the Feb 1st, my sleeve date. It is also helps drinking the Water. I am going to restroom a lot more than Iam drinking, so I think what I have lost is water weight,, which is fine with me. I also drink 1/2 cup of V8 about 15 minutes after my shake, to get rid of the sweet taste. Today is the 3rd day and has been much easier than yesterday.. Hang in there.

hmmm,,, Sounds like gall bladder stones can be a problem after weight loss. I wonder about what percentage of sleevers either have their gall bladder removed during the sleeve op, or post op as a result of stones.

:001_smile: Wow JeepChickie, how exciting is that! Congrats, and wishing you a speedy recovery :lol0:

Recommendations for last day of gluttony
loser replied to Bambi's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ouch,, today was my first day on pre-op diet.. If I could just have one saltine cracker it would be heaven. During the day was not really a problem, but now I want carbs,, popcorn, crackers, SugarPops,, etc.. Well, I guess we can talk about all the yummy diet foods in a couple days when your diet starts.. -
Yay I have DATE and, DRAMA = [.
loser replied to TiffanyIsMajor's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I agree with jpetty. Remember the 90/10 Principle. 10% of Life is made up of what happens to you. 90% of Life is decided by how you react to it.. We have no control over the 10%. The 90% is different. You determine the 90% by your reaction. Try not to let it upset you, you are the winner in the end. Getting upset is just hurting you more. So get over it, be proud, be confident, if your not just act like you are, and soon you will be. We are here for you, you can rant and rave all you want with us as we understand. Congrats on getting your date! -

Hey Tiff, be sure to upload some pics of you and your new do! -
Hey Rachel, I started my preop diet today also.. It has been ok so far. I have a lot of small things to eat, mostly drink, but not that hungry yet. I have 3 weeks of this so I just have to accept it. I think the better you stick with the preop diet the better the surgery and recovery go. My doc told me the main purpose is to shrink the liver. They have to hold it out of the way and the smaller it is the better. I found the following site today, making my diet easier and kinda fun.. I am sure there are others as well. Congrats on your date and "Happy Sleeving". Parallels H-Sphere

thoughts....of doing the right thing....
loser replied to johan22's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have thought the same thing. I know I am going to loose some good poundage on the preop diet. My Insurance BC&BS won't cover any type of bariatric surgery so I am an out of pocket payer, but I am still going to go with the surgery. I always loose on a diet, and there in lies the problem. I loose weight, feeling great and then slowly start overdoing it, and before I know it I have the weight back. This time I am taking measures to prevent that from happening. The "Sleeve" shall set me free... lol,, sorry I get a little over zealous at times. -
Thank you Linda, it is always good to hear from the veteran sleevers. I am getting excited (start my preop diet tommorow). I have been shopping online for my goal reward to myself.. LOL.. kinda premature I know, but things like that will help keep me on track. I think I want to be "not fat" and in shape more than about anything I can think of.. So tired of this,, heard a little kid say to his mom the other day while I held the door open for them,, "nice fat man".. auughhhh,, ruined my day for sure...

Feb 1st, for a sleeving good time
loser replied to loser's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey Tiffkins and thank you... That is probably a good idea. My major weight gain started when I quit smoking, so I can't go back to that. Might try a quick home improvement project. -
I have also heard about people gaining the weight back after having RNY or lapband, but never heard of anyone gaining back on the sleeve. Sure some will naturally gain some after losing a lot, but I don't see how anyone could get back to their pre-sleeve weight. I mean, can anyone who has been sleeved sit down and eat a whole pizza, gallon of ice cream, 12oz steak, etc., I think a lot of us, especially me, will eat until no more will go in. Then I feel like I never want to eat again. I am hoping with the sleeve I will feel the same way after one piece of pizza. Hmmm, now I made myself hungry only one day left for the food funeral...

Feb 1st, for a sleeving good time
loser replied to loser's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
DeeDee, thank you.. Congrats to Bambi and gafromva!!! Soon we will be on the other side of the river with a new beginning. I have been thinking, this will be the first time in my life to diet knowing I will definately not gain the weight back. I find that pretty motivating and exciting. Plus I have never had surgery and know it will go better if I adhere to the diet..... :>) -
